SSBM is great! | | ckrimbro from Some Boring place in USA :P says (19/Jul/2004): | Who ever came up with and designed this game deserves to forever be enshrined in the video game hall-of fame. they managed to create the ultimate game, and one of the few games to have little if any flaws.
Super smash bros. Melee is more than a fighting game, sure most of the it is in the form of combat with other players or the computer, but what makes this game rock is that you can play adventure mode where you get to make your way through different levels and fight an endless array of creatures and characters.
The things to unlock in this game are endless, just when I think I've won the final trophy, I go and get another, and alot of the characters are not available at the begining so you have to unlock them, usually I hate when a game makes you unlock characters and levels, but with super smash bros, I actually enjoyed earning these new levels and players (partly due to the fact that not all characters are unlocked by winning, several are just unlocked because you've played the game for a certain time period or you've finished a level with the clock at exactley 2 seconds.)
GRAPHICS
The images in this game are outstanding, its characters from previous nintendo games so of course they are animated and not life like, but wow are they amazing, seeing Mario for the first time on the GC made me "giddy" for the arival of "Super Mario Sunshine" around 2002.
SOUND
Great sound, loud and really clear, i'm not usually a big fan of loud sound in video games, but I found the quality of the explosions, and the characters voices to be very well done.
CONTROL
For me this took some getting used to, but I think that was more due to the fact of getting use to the gamecube controller then the layout for this game. Anybody I know who plays this game after they have had GC for awhile picks it up in a few seconds.
LASTING APPEAL
One thing I commend the creators of SSBM for is that they have managed to create the only game I have ever played that I never get sick of. you can play this forever (and you will find your self playing this game for hours). I think its safe to say that even years from now, I will still be playing and enjoying this game.
It has everything a player could want, and its safe to say that SSBM is a guaranteed top 10 gamecube game for the rest of the system's existence.
If you don't own this game already then drop what ever you are doing and get this great game!

Okay FINAL DESTINATION is super hard to get!!!!!!! They want you to beat Giga Bowser,Mewtwo and Ganondorf then two master hands on hard mode!!!! Theres not many stuff to unlock. All you can unlock are some crummy levels and characters!!!!! There are no cheat codes. And it gets boring fast!!!!!!!!! This game totally sucks!!!!!!!!!!
Who cares about it anyway????? I say no one buy this game its garbage. From the first time I saw it I thought it was boring.I knew it was boring because the first one was boring what would change this one???? You die easy its just fighting who cares???????? I`m sure you`ll think the same thing about this game.
I must admit, inside, I thought I just MAY like it..but it's so simplistic that the master gamer (like me), quickly tires of it.
If you like this game, go turn on your Barnie video and sing along with him. That's about all the fun this game offers.
Super Smash Melee rips ideas off other cartoons, yet doesnt deliver all the fun and surprises.
They build up the anticipation by making you beat a ton of stuff on Hard level, which you find out, is not worth the work. Get some new ideas, SSB, and maybe we'll talk.

This game rocks way harder than the original. Also there are many differences. For one, there are more characters, but most of them are the same. Like Mario. (It wouldn't be a real game without Mario! ~_0) Anyway, this game is way better. Enough said!
Graphics: Like all 2nd versions, The graphics are better than the old timer. There isn't much to say about the graphics except they are better.
Sound: The sound is slightly changed. There are some new songs for some new levels. There are still some common sounds such as the beam sword slashing, Samus powering up for a big blast, the bob-omb explosion, and the death explosion. The announcer sounds pretty much the same too.
Lifespan: The lifespan is very long. (much like the old game) There are 200 something trophies to earn or win. I have had this game for two years and have still not collected all the trophies. (I only need 12 more) To make a long story short, the game will take even a pro more than 9 months. (For the understudys, much, much longer!)
Fun Factor: High and low at the same time. Low because: The game is 2D for cring out loud, You can only get up to 5 lives, you start out with a couple levels and only 10 characters. High because: Some of the scenery comes alive and attacks you, (literaly!) There are 25 characters, (after you unlock them all) and the game is just plain fun!
Value: It's worth waiting for. (Of course it was realesed a long time ago so you really don't have to wait!) I personaly would pay $50 for this game. But you might want to rent it or try it out before you buy it.
The game is way worth saving up for and is very cool. Enough said. E-mail me if this helped.

I gave this game an "8 1/2" because of 2 things... first thing, Adventure mode needs work. Next thing, the few trophies with requirements to get them like “must have a Pikmin/Wave Race Blue Storm/blah-blah-blah save on Memory card"... Anyway this game ROCKS otherwise...........I love the characters all except Jigglypuff ( she stinks! ) and the levels are so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so COOL! Many people should buy this game; it's so so so so so so so so so so AWSOME!!! All characters are well rounded and cool. One of the best is Roy and one of the worst is Pichu.The origanality is incomprehensible. I mean come ON this game is so SWEET. This game fills all requirments of a great,super, game.This is one super, awsome, great, extreme, famous, high level game.Nobody can resist the supreme power of this Gamcube origanal. I love him cause he is quick and light. He has an average attack strength but he still is my favorite. I love his left/right B move cause u can create any combo u want. My favorite is the right,up,down,down. I also like the Kongo Jungle past stage,the Brinstar stage,the mute city stage and the green greens stage. The adventure mode is very COOL and I also love tournament melee. This is my favorite game of all time(well this and Kingdom Hearts). Link is the best charcter in the game. Followed by Roy, Marth, Young Link, and Kirby. Fox and Falco are also really good. The only characters i don't really like are Pichu,Ice Climbers, and Jigglypuff. Pikachu is also gay except he's pretty good but still gay. But none are as good as Link. Link blows everyone out of the water with spin attack, bombs, bow, and a boomerang. And especially his down A in the air. My favorite level is Great Bay. My favorite weapon is home run bat cause it delivers one hit KO. No doubt about this is one awesome game. if you say this game is gay then you are gay. adventure mode is awesome. some event matches are kind of hard like when you fight giga bowser or crazy hand. The stupidist level is icicle mountain cause it moves to much. Poke Floats is gay to. The music is awesome. Especially Link's level. Some levels have two different songs.

some other levels have two songs also. Super Smash Bros. Melee is the best game ever.

Some of you might know but most of you don't that you can get master hand, crazy hand, dark link, popo, (the purple iceclimber by himself) giga bowser, sandbag, female and male wireframe, (those guys you have to fight in stadium mode) and dark link with an action replay. However, there are different codes for different versions. To see which version you have, check the silver part of the ring fartest from the hole somewhere light. you will see it say DOL-GALE-0-02 JPN XX. XX is actioly going to be a number. 02= version 1.2. 01= version 1.1. 00= version 1.0. I don't know if I have version 1.2 or 5.0! To find the cheats, go to http://www.codes.ssbm.org. There you will find the cheats to get the ungettable characters. I really don't have these characters, but i hope i get an action replay to get them! P.S. When using Giga Bowser, always play against one person in a big stage, or it'll freeze. With sandbag, it always freezes. Oh well, because of these characters, i like this game!

1. pikachu - learn to use quick attack and you'll never die (up B) learn to use B very well and down A smash attack is amazing
2. young link - he's amazing at spamming with boomerang and arrows. use his down A smash its amazing as well, pikachu is better at staying on the level though. also if you want to be super queer then jump around and land on people with downA its rediculous.
3. game and watch - his smash is so powerful, the flame, his upB is great because it hurts too. also, if you go directionB his hammer might show a 9 in which its a one hit KO
4. bowser - if you do forward B and catch someone you bite them a few times and can toss them aside, many times right into the edge and kill them
5. jigglypuff - i never play him but if you do and get good he's reall good. his rest attack is many times a one hit KO and his rollout attack does insane smash damage
6. link - he's alright, a little worse than young link though. his arrows do less of an effect because young links do fire damage and hurt you a while

There's just one thing wrong about this game. There are no combos or any other stuff like in games like tekkan or dragonball z budokai#. Even so, i just cannot give it a score lower than ten! My friend thinks he's better than me, but not anymore. I got so good at it, that i beat everything with a comp level 9 with 1 life, all the events with one life, oh heck with it. I never even lost a life ever since that day! Do not be fooled by people who write all those hoaxes about this game. I bet it's jsut people who's trying to make the people who own the game to think that their game got all wrong. Super smash brothers Melee has the best graphics in the world. I think Bowser Rocks!! Maybe, I will give you some cheats.
Go on tiny melee and make yourself be Bowser and choose your opponent Zelda because she is the weakest. Go on Hyrule temple, go to the top platform and jump off! Now, make sure that Zelda is under you. Jump off the platform and press "Down B". You will land on top of her and it will do about 21 percent.After that keep repeating the same attack over and over again. When she has about 150 percent, press smash attack "Left A" and she will go Flyyyying!
When she does, try and jump up to her and spin "Up B".She will get hurt.

I got this game the day it came out and i pllayed it forever! I have played 1,503,674 vs. matches! Ive beat the game 4 times and like the following the most: the characters, a great variety of nintendo stars but wouldve been better if wario had been in it, the adventure mode which allows you to play side obstacles which makes the game all more interesting. I play this game every day after school but like I say only like 2 or 3 hours.My neighbors also had it and we play like every day,we train for the comics convention every 4 months and last convention I almost won with Falco but I lose in the last round and I also lose 20$ dollars but I will train alot so I win the next time. Also I and my friends organize tournaments and I almost win every battle always.So here is my opinion sugestions and many other things I play and have fun from this excellent great and the best game I ever played in my life

I unlocked all the stages exept the Final Destination.Here is a small cheat for Multi Man melee that will hurt your wrists. Be DK and get to the bottom middle. Do the hand slap. Continue doing this untill its the end of the test.That is how I got Falco and Kongo Jungle. My favorite charecters are: Link, Mr. Game and Watch and Marth. I'm only 12, but I think this game is the bomb!(No offence to bomberman). I wish that there was more charecters like Sonic and Meowth. This game has good graphics. It has great charecters. number 3*!! My most favorite items are Pokeball, Poison mushroom, and Beam sword.*I say that again.Here is another small cheat. Easy destruction. Go to Giant Melee. Have poison mushroom on. When the opponent gets small, knock him out of the screen.Jigglypuff is cute and powerfull. Her rest move closeup to an enemy KO's them in one hit. Great for knocking out lv9 charecters.I love to do tournament melee with her(kidding). But she would be great in there don't you think? Please cheer for the best charecter (i think) Link!!!!

So far, since I'm always so busy, I barely get to play this game. That gotta change! I wish I am able to play this game everyday, but- to busy.
I still hasn't gotten Kongo Jungle 64 Yet but I did get all the other past stages. I hope I get it soon when I have time! It's been fun playing all the time. I love this game, (don't tell me to marry it because that's so first grade) and nothing will change that.
I have some cheats, but I'm not allowed to put it on cheatcodes.com for some reason. That's the reason I'm putting it hear. You know when people say that you have to hit Sandbag over 1324 or just 1324 feet with Yoshi to get Yoshi Island 64? I've been trying all over and over, but he barely hit it 100 feet. That was when it all hit me. When you hit sandbag, you have to smash atack side a with the bat to hit it that far! That was very confusing until I figured that out.

I know that I said that was fake like last 3 years ago, but I don't think that people who made the game put it on whatever made the people who play this game believe that you can get Sonic and Tails. I think it was just some Phony people trying to make people hate this game, and think that it has some type of virus just because they didn't get them. If you still believe it, do not make any mistakes. I have done defeating 20 man cruel melee, but still nothing! If you want to know how the people put pictures of Sonic and Tails in SSBm, it's nothing! I've done the same before, and of course I said it was all a fake! You could do it on a word proccer, but not the pictures. Just the talk like "A dream have been cast! dreamland is now yours!" When you get something special or something. The pictures, just take a picture of a SSBM 1 player, or multi player with a digital camera, then some pictures of Anyone not in SSBM, and put it on some kind of thingy where you get to draw pictures on the Computer. Move the pictures to the drawing thingy, then goes the pictures of fake people in SSBM over a few characters, and there! I don't think it works anytime, because you have to download a few things.
| This Game ROCKS!!! | | billy smith from Lloyd Harbor, NY, USA says (31/Jan/2004): | I still am an ameteur at all this nintendo stuff, i only started with Super Smash Bros. but this game is cool! i don't care if all my friends are getting bored of it,i just love it! i like it because there are good graphics any way better the originals. i hope that they will keep on improving it. i like all the charicters and i like the gameplay. no character is better than another. there are some different sounds, and courses, but it makes me happy that the originals are still there, but a lot more!! i haven't even beaten it, because i am banned from gamecube half my life, but i just want to spend all my time beating it then move on. i like the blend of all the nintendo games, the history of their games. i like bouncing on little yellow koopas and paratroopas. i like adventure mode, allstar mode, event matches, and classic. i especially like Dr. Mario, Mewtwo, and Falco. i like the way it's different from other games because it has characters from all over the games. i like the poke'mon, too. pikachu and pichu rock and are like clones.

my favorite place is poke floats and rainbow cruise.the game is good i recommend it to people who like action games or if you likegames with the characters. i would give this game a perfect
on everthing. i also like gba games and ps2 games. if you want to talk withme feel free. tips to beatluigi play 800 vs games and to get mewtwo play 700 vs games.other tips use the c stick for more awseome moves.to get mr game and watch play 1000 vs games. best advatages occur most oftenly best game out there. to get jiggulypuff play 50 vs games. love it!!!!! i have not tried many games but this is the best game i have tried
