Awesome game | | A gamer from Whitby, Ontario, Canada says (3/Jan/2003): | This game has been one of the best ive played. But there were things that nintendo could've done to make it better. For one thing dinosours do not appear out of no where when you kill them they should be dead. Second their are some real stupid things that can waiste ur time in the game. For example if your doing the tests in Lightfoot village and u leave the village and when they lock u out its about impossible to get back in. I had to start a new game after spending hours on trying to figure out on what the hell to do. Good game none of the less but as i said they could've made it a lot better.

It has very obviously ripped off Zelda. In comparasion, i have found myself saying, "when does it get hard?". The action only leaves me awaiting the new zelda game. I am dissapointed about the lack of arwing scenes. They are all pretty pathetic. The main reason i always liked starfox was beacause it was a flying game. A very AWESOME flying game. this game took the flying o a minimum and made it cheesy. I am not saying i dislike this game. i feel it is a great game, has a good story, and great graphics. i can only hope for a new zelda, to give a challenge, and for a new star fox, where you actually fly missions again.
| starfox is a great game but can it compare with games like metroid prime and melee? | | Lee g from delta, british columbia, canada says (1/Jan/2003): | I just got this game for cristmas and i have to say it is one of the most well planned and made games yet on the cube, but i has some flaws like impossible to reach feul cells, bricks that dont give off shadows and foot in the snow not in the same position of your feet. But those aside this game is the best game i have ever played aside from metroid prime, sunshine, super smash bros melee, and of coarse super mario world for the snes. starfox is a great game but i lacks a multiplayer option like in starfox 64, i mean imagine playing as fox and flying around on dinosaur planets surface while shooting your friend out of the sky! That would give this game a 10 out of 10 but starfox still has some of the best moves and characters out there o' and that reminds me of one last flaw WHAT HAPPEND TO FALCO?! sure he makes a cameo appearence at the end but still why did they take him out? he was mine and alot of others favorite member of the starfow team! ah well... nothing i can do about it. so finally i have to say that anyone that dosnt already go a cube should run out and buy one for this game alone!

But there were a few things I didn't like about, like that it would show you some movie and then leave you. I didn't like how it would show you something and then you would have to find some impossibley hidden lever or switch, and then when you found it, you'd find out that you needed some upgrade! Also, it just didn't specify what you needed to do all the time, like the mission would be hidden in some conversation or something, and let's face how many of us actually sit through and read an entire 10 minute movie? We get bored! ALSO, the constant complaint that its a ripoff of Zelda is totally TRUE! The warps, the mazes, the hearts? But I hail it being the final Rare game. In my opinion, if its made by Rare, there's gotta be something good about it, PLUS, I LOVED Zelda, so eventhough It a little bit of a ripoff, atleast they ripped off something good, AND its challenging!!! So, overall its a good game, but a lil unfinished...

| Best Game Made!!! A must for Nintendo fans!! | | Angela from Florida, USA says (30/Dec/2002): | This is one of the best games ever alongside Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Super Smash Bro. Melee. The graphics were incredible, i mean the fur effects, the shadows, everything was incredibly thought out. The sounds and music are the best out of any game made. The only thing I didn't like though, was that it was incredibly short. I mean, I got this game 5 days ago and I'm already at Andross at the end. The flick scene with Fox and Krystal and the sax music was cool too...lol. Also, the only boss I enjoyed was the first one. Awesome detail on the bosses!! After the first boss it seemed like they lost focus and just tried to finish the game as quick as possible. Especially the boss at Dragon Rock. They were talking about how he was the most powerful machine that was made and all he does is fly around. Way too easy, Nintendo. However, this game is just like Zelda: The Ocarina of Time with the auto jump and the display of the control buttons. Even the levels were similar with the tunnels and dungeon maps. This is the greatest game made and anyone who did not like it is out of their minds. This is the perfect mix of adventure, strategy and a little romance. If you own a Gamecube, you MUST buy this game!

I got it for christmas and i must say it is a great game, but for someone who completed zelda 64 in 6 hours, it dont seem like a very long game, i mean i got up at 7am on christmas morning and started playing star fox at 8am, and i mean i had finished it by 2am the next morning lol, it took me 18 hours to complete the entire (including getting all the fuel cells), yet there were some things that did annoy me, like the gate keeper on ice mountain the wooly mammoth guy, he was stuck in the little underground bit, which now has a fuel cell in it, this was the only one i could never figure out how to get, and i thought the ending was probably the the pappist ending i'v ever seen, all u do is fight andross and then he explodes, then u get a dodgy little sequence with krystal, one more thing lol, look at me jabbering on like a little school girl. Anyway, i got about 6 cheat tokens and they never seemed to do anything?, why is this, i think they would have been better off making the game like Jet Force Gemini on the 64, where u can go backwards and forwards in the game, like go back to stages, and would it have hurt the put a difficulty level in?, god damn it, another thing i saved it when i was fighting andross and now i have a crappy save file that it usless cause its on 99% and when it starts i fight andross and then its the end... Well there u go, the one game i thought i could love for ever has betrayed me... I must go now, i now have time splitters 2, awaiting my life...

Zelda is a great game but it will never beat Star Fox Adventures! It's one of my favourite games ever! I don't know why people bother buying an X-Box or a PS2. Gamecube has the best games!
| Unbelievably great game, but does it go the distance? | | Archamedes from Brisbane, Australia says (26/Dec/2002): | After purchasing Starfox Adventures only just yesterday, i was immediatly blown away by the story, gameplay, characters and definatly the graphics. This would have to be my favorite game ever. But the reason i only gave it a nine is because after purchasing the game only yesterday, i have already completed 35% of the game. This disapointed me because i wanted a game that would last me for a few weeks, not one that could be finished in a matter of days. Also it's really quite easy. In short, Awesome game, nearly perfect, but needs to be alot harder and alot longer.

Two things really annoyed me though, for one PRINCE TRICKY. He was an annoying male version of Navi that I wanted to BURN. The second thing was that there was no creativity in naming.... | The BEST game yet on the gamecube!!!!!!!!! | | Lan&Piers from Surrey,UK says (24/Dec/2002): | Having played many games on the gamecube already I have found that “Starfox Adventures” is one of many that seems to stick out and seem like it is the best game on this console! The graphics are superb and the storyline is absolutely brilliant. The missions kept me going and motivated me more, it allowed me to use up my free time as it made me eager to finish it. The music and sounds were very well produced. The lifespan of the character was amazing as it lasted for a while which made it more simpler to do but was challenging still! I would recommend this game for anyone who is up for a fun filled and amazing adventure game!!

First off, although it's a rip off of Zelda, one thing they should have added was a warp. It gets soooo annoying running all the way from Thorntail Village to Cape Claw. It takes like 15 minutes. Second off, on your last trip to Cape Claw you see one of the lightfoots doing something in a short like 5 second movie. Then he runs under the gate. What the hell did this have to do with anything? Next, the bosses. The first one was kind of hard, until I figured out what to do. The one after was cool chasing those guys on your bikes, but the rest were too easy. When you're on dragon rock, they say the dragon guy was really hard, so I'm thinking youre gonna have a tough battle, but he just flies around. With a turbo button, he's dead in like 2 seconds. And the T Rex guy was too easy. Yes, and the forementioned "battle" with General Scales. I wanted to at least fight him, but it's not even a second before suddenly Andross commands him to give the spirit over. I really wanted to see Falco appear in the game, the way they talked about him, you'd think he'd be there, but no. I hope they make a game a lot better than this. And with walking back and forth through temples and $#< remove me > at !, you have to go through all this stuff, like going to the Ice Mountain, you have to get to that water thing change the direction a million times....its really annoying. Other than that I totally enjoyed it, great game, can't wait for a sequel, which hopefully they will do, or will we have to wait til the next system?

I haen't even got the game yet, but from looking at the screen shots and the movies of it, im giving it a 10/10, shearly cause it is just so great, i also have been a fan of star fox since before the 64 version, i loved the version on the snes, although the colours were enough to give someone an epileptic fit, yet i must say, that if the members of RARE are reading this, if u dont come back to nintendo, then im going to sneak into your house and steal your brains and make the rest myself, With you infinite knowledge.

When I herd Starfox Adventures was coming out the only thing I could think about was the game. When I got it I went straight to playing... until I hit a part that stumped me. How do you tap hard enough to beat Mucslefoot in the stregth contest. That fustraited me... and that is why I gave it a nine. I know people out there, that you probally past it with ease, but I can not seem to beat it.
On the other hand I think this is a fantastic game and Rare out did there selves on their last game on Nintendo. But it brings a tear to my eye when I think that there will be no more starfox games. Snif, snif.

| Not the best game I ever played | | Mr. mad man from west virginia says (30/Nov/2002): | Oh please, this game has the lamest ending ever. Andross comes out of noware to take over the lylat system. This game I thought had me hooked in the beggining, but after playing it completely through I was never so bored in my life. The ending wasn't even good. Oh no it's a two-faced Andross that had nothing to do with the game. General Scales backs down pretty fast too. Oh yeah and did I forget to menchin that annoying Crystal who takes the staff away from you with her greedy little paws "give me that,my staff, your back." Then there is fox...no staff, no powers, no thank yous, nothing. "Uh hello over here those little usless flames do nothing to him, hey quit shooting my ship!" Then once you beet it she acts like she only forgot to say thanks. If you all want a Legand of Zelda rip off, then this is your game.

This game is AMAZING! The fighting? Beautiful. The scenery? Brathtaking. Transitions between scenes? Wonderful. Starfox Adventures is just another Zelda game, under the disguise of Arwings and Scales, fur and flying. In fact, this is exactly how the new Zelda game SHOULD be, instead of *grumble grumble* Cel-shaded. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoy Zelda and/or any puzzle games. Now, if I could just convince the makers of Zelda to make their new game like Starfox Adventures...hmmm....
| This is a GREAT game! | | Rye from California, USA says (27/Nov/2002): | It was like playing another Zelda game! I rented this game and got addicted. I ended up beating it in 3 days. After I beat it, I was left craving another adventure game. It didn't get a ten for two reasons: 1: It was too short, although it is enjoyed very much as a rental. 2: Near the end, it became a go here, do this kind of game. I thought it was kind of lame that after the first boss,( If you have never played the game, stop reading this, for it will ruin some stuff)they stopped having bosses. Also, it didn't really fit in that Andross was the last boss. It seems that the makers just stuck that on at the very end. It didn't look like it was very carefully planned. I liked how there was some mini games in the game. And there was lots of pussles! I love pussles! Though the part where you had to activate all of the totem poles was a pain in the neck. I spent almost an hour doing that. Be warned, this is a very addicting game! READ FROM HERE: I suggest that you definitely play, if not buy this game. It is defenetly one of those must play games and left me looking foward to Metroid Prime!
