Excellent... |
| A gamer from Modesto, California says (22/Nov/2002): |
Amazing, incredible, unbelievable... Nintendo outdid themselves with Starfox Adventures. An amazing game, incredible gameplay, and unbelievable graphics, Starfox is one of the best Zelda-type games ever created. I recommend this awesome game to any and every one, whether you like or dislike strategy-based games...

starfox is great |
| daniqua from USA CA. says (20/Nov/2002): |
I loved the game! It had good plot and was a lot of fun playing. I think it should have been longer and harder though. I rented it but I still want to buy the game to have the collections. The graphics were great it had good music it sounded a bit like zelda and a game called prince of persia in some parts. I think people should buy this game and I'm not just saying it to be nice its really cool.

Fun but easy. |
| orange nitro from Clackamas, Oregon says (17/Nov/2002): |
This was a really fun game and has the best graphics ever, but it was way to easy. My, brother and I beat the game in 6 days. Good thing it was a rental.

AWSOME GAME! |
| Fox McCloud from Brentwood Tennessee says (9/Nov/2002): |
StarFox Adventures: Dinsaur Planet at the time is my favorite game. To combine a space age game with a fantasy RPG is very creative, and obviously Rare took ther time because there are indivdaul hairs Fox's body. It is an adictive game with stunning graphics and gameplay. Who ever has a Gamecube needs this game. Its awsome!

Simply a wonderful game. |
| Game Tiger says (7/Nov/2002): |
Ster Fox Adventures was a wonderful game, and the first one I got when I purchased a Game Cube. The graphics were perfect, gameplay wonderful, and some of the funnier cinamatics were well made. Hopefully another one will come out, continued by another company.

Peanut Butter |
| A gamer from Not giving it, dammit! says (6/Nov/2002): |
I thought the game wasn't bad. It was sort of cool at the beginning, but it sort of became boring after a while and I only played it to finish it and get it over with. I'm not saying it was a terrible game, but I was expecting so much more! The graphics are awesome, though. It was smooth...like peanut butter!

one great game |
| Jet from California, USA says (4/Nov/2002): |
When I heard that a Starfox game was coming on Gamecube, I was so excited. But I never expected it to be so good!! The graphics are great. You can see each idvindual hair on Fox. Impressive. The gameplay though,I love the whole thing. The battling with the staff and the texture of the water. The whole game is great. Its a must if you like adventures.

1 of 3 best games ever |
| Sparks from foster, rhode island says (31/Oct/2002): |
Now i've played a lot of games, and this one, although it is quite short, is one of the best ever. The other two are ocarina of time, and smash bros melee. This game was so awesome, it had the arwing missions, and land missions. it reminded me of zelda. The storyline was really good, and i won't give anything away, but that is what made me want to play so much. also i though that when fox fights with the staff it was wicked fun, because there were different ways to do it each time depending on the directional that was used with the 'a' button. I cannot wait for the next one to come out, and im hoping it will be very soon, and for gamecube, not the next system that'll come out. the only bad part, (and it being short certainly wasn't bad) is that there is no multiplayer, or unless i haven't unlocked it, but i would have definately liked that. also if there is a multiplayer, i think that there should be ai bots. if not in this one, then in the next one.

Best Graphics, Best Storyline, Best Game on any console, EVER. |
| Krystal from Central Ohio, USA says (30/Oct/2002): |
Flying, running, exploring, magic, staff fighting, a sidekick (even though its a freak of one), and just a kiss of romance/attraction. What more could any gamer wish for? It's wholesome enough for the kids, and "tinted" for adults and teens. It truely is a breath of fresh air in the midst of what I'd think of as a stale period for Nintendo. Fox and Zelda are my Al'ma Ma'ters. I must say I'm feeling a bit of dissapointment for the upcoming Zelda. Just simply not up to a standard of paying 50+ bucks for (more expensive as you go west). Anyways, I just wanted to give a HUGE two thumbs up for Fox this time around. Original was great, this was "god-like" for the gaming world. I've always been a loyal Nintendo buyer, and Fox this time just served as a renewal in my faith that Nintendo is developing even greater games. Best graphics I've ever seen, as well, in ANY console. LOVE how Nintendo is finally starting to give the characters expression. Could use a tinge of work, but overall, cool. Can't easily beat the soundtrack. Talking about beating, I beat the game in 4 days. One could only beg that Nintendo brings out a continueing line of these quality games, more so hoping for more Fox games. Also, I would hope that Nintendo keeps up with its vow for a Modem Adapter, which has never even been mentioned to the stores around Ohio. Really Impresed. Good job, Nintendo. -Krys*

Difficulty and length of Ocarina of Time finished ......In 4 days? |
| C. Krehbiel from Deer Creek Oklahoma,USA says (24/Oct/2002): |
Personally I LOVE the game. (I also must say that Krystal is HOT) It has good gameplay, good graphics(except in a couple of rare instances), really good plot, and last but not least, difficult enough to keep you working on it for at least a couple of weeks.....or is it? It may just be me,but looking at Ocarina of Time, which has the same amount of levels (8, more or less for SFA), equal difficulty, and equal complexity. But then how does it work that I finished SFA (Star Fox Adventures) in 4 days, when I don't think I could finish Ocarina of Time in a month? Mabey SFA has a bit lighter, a bit more "appealing" plot that demands a a little more attention.
That leaves my only dissapointment being the fact that it seemed over so soon, leaving me thinking,"Whoa, how could it possibly be over, now,in only four days."
Well, enough of that,it really is a good game and I share the previous opinion that the game is sort of Nintendo's way of apologizing in advance for the upcoming Zelda title.
Another one of the good points,in my opinion at least,is the musical score.
That was one of the things that kept me at it especially in the Ocean Force Point theme,Krazoa Palace theme, and Krystal's little sax accompanyment.
If Nintendo were to sell all of the music from this game on a CD,
I would buy it as soon as concievably possible.(if anyone knows any sites on the web that have that have at LEAST midi files from SFA,please e-mail the URL(s) to me.
Over all, I would say that this game is one of the "rare gems" of Nintendo,a very fine work indeed.

Good but needs work |
| Shawn from obetz (ohio) usa says (23/Oct/2002): |
Wow what a good idea. It started off good but it kept making me think Zelda. It was a lot of running around, took forever to find a large dungeon, and some of the vocies were just plain annoying. The ending was exactly like the first game with Andross. Shot his hands, bomb his mouth and shot his brain. I wonder how much better it would have been if it wasn't a Star Fox game. Just Adventures on Dinosaur Planet.

Average at best |
| Zerg-kun from OK, USA says (22/Oct/2002): |
Same old, same old. It's very similar to other rare games, but this time adds a bit of Ocarina of Time with the lock on system. Even the music sounds the same, the same as Jet Force Gemini, maybe you've noticed it? Another thing i don't like are the maps, they show all the levels of the area so it makes it hard to navigate. This is something i would have like taken from Zelda, too. Then another thing i didn't like was obtaining items or skills that you only use in that one area and hardly ever again, if at all(see: moon seed). I have heard complaints, like having to solve puzzles with little or no idea wha to do, well i liked that. Its a nice change from the obvious. And your partner, Tricky, really isn't that annoying, pretty fun actually. Play fetch and watch him change colors. Why, I'll never know. My only complaint on Tricky would be if you try to do a 180, and tricky is following too closely, he makes you stop right in your tracks and go around him. The combos you do with your staff are pretty neat looking in the beginning, but the lack of new things to do with it will get old, good thing you need to employ different methods on bosses. Graphics are all crisp and nice, none of that "when a character is so far away it disappears until you get closer" junk. I remember reading something saying this game will last about 100 hours... It only took me about 10, maybe they were using the metric system. It may seem like I'm bashing the game alot, but I really liked it, but I don't want to play it again, I'm glad i rented it.

zelda, good luck beating this |
| cory from mississippi, USA says (20/Oct/2002): |
the first day i got it, i was so amazed by the graphics that i fell off my chair! The gameplay is so easy to learn, even a baby could play. But it may take a more expertish person to beat it.I mean, no one likes an easy game! Oh, and the sounds and music is so awesome, i had to unlock the sound test right away! This game is like Zelda times 100!!! Its Link in fox morph!!!!!

Star Fox Adventures |
| Der from Indiana, USA says (20/Oct/2002): |
Yo, if you liked Zelda then you'll like this. In my own mind, I imagine this game to help make up for the new cel-shading technique they used on the new Zelda [which I am very sadly disappointed in] Though I havent finished the game yet, its spiffy! The only thing I don't like, but can easily get used to is the in ability to jump. Also, Zelda had better music. If you were a big fan of Zelda like me, then you'll be screaming your head off on how ALIKE these two games are! Enjoy!

This is the absolute best fox game ever |
| william from Buffalo (New York) U.S.A. says (19/Oct/2002): |
This game is by far THE best Star Fox game that nintendo has graced the world with, it has amazingly detailed graphics, and a game play much like the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, the other greatest game made by Nintendo. This game is thoroughly deep and involving, and this is a very complex game, so its not one of those 2 hour breeze through games! This is enough to keep all nintendo fans eyes glued to t.v. screens anywhere!
|
It's a great game but there's one thing I didn't like... |
| Zach from Central Point, OR, USA says (18/Oct/2002): |
IT's a great game and really fun but there were some options that it just didn't have such as I really liked fighting some of the bosses but as soon as I beat them, I couldn't fight them again until I went through the game all over again; same thing with movies, puzzles, and some levels. All in all it's like going through a game and not being able to take another shot at you're previous achievements.

Link as a Fox! |
| Matthew from Victorville, CA says (17/Oct/2002): |
I can't believe it! As soon as I started playing The StarFox Adventures it reminded me of Nintendo 64's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. To me the Legends of Zelda games are one of the best games out there. For StarFox, on GameCube, to remind me of a Zelda game has to mean that this is, as of now, one of the best games on Gamecube. It's like Link transformed into a moody little fox. The way Fox McCloud moves around is almost similar to that of Link. As of the actual game I think it's awsome. The different worlds he encounters are all fun to beat. Since the game can get fustrating at times ,that has to mean that it's not easy. That is totally a great thing, since no one wants a game to be too easy. Words can't express how great this game is. JUST BUT IT. You'll LOVE it. Trust me.

A Perfect balance of puzzles and action |
| Amanda from Texasm USA says (12/Oct/2002): |
Star Fox Adventures has a healthy mix of butt-kicking action, and brain-working puzzles. The controls were easy to use, and easy to learn. There were multiple functions to each button, but I never became frustrated or confused at trying to figure out what to do and when to do it. Not only did I enjoy actually playing with Fox, but the beautiful graphics, settings, and backgrounds were a big factor in increasing my interest in the game. The sound-FX and music were better than any game as of yet. Besides the excellent game-play and control layout, Fox's plethora of moves, skills, and abilities makes beating the bad guys that much more fun. The only complaint I have is that it was just too darn short. But knowing that there are still secrets hidden somewhere in there, I am more than willing to immerse myself in this superb game again and again.
