Rent, Don't Buy |
| Knew from Canada says (4/Feb/2003): |
I've played the game. I owned it and beat it. The game was good with decent graphics, good sound, and good gameplay. It's not a game that relies on it's graphics for publicity, it relies on the story and the fact that it's the first Jango game. It's a challenging game at points, and requires skill and strategy, but what really set me off was the 0% use of stealth, which is what would have been awesome, and added even more strategy to the game. The levels are huge, and with no way to save halfway through, and only continue points, u can get frustrated easily, and it's hard to play for anything less than an hour unless u leave ur system on for later. The weapons are fun and unique, and the world of Starwars is well represented, except in the innacuracy of the Jango story which was changed in the game for unknown reasons. This game is good, but more work could have been done on it, as I was dissapointed at the end when there was nothing left to do-no multiplayer, and a one-time-play sort of game. The last boss-Komari Vosa was extremely easy, and frankly I expected a challenge, yet I beat her with ease. Don't get me wrong, it was a good game and I enjoyed playing it, but getting secondary bounties didn't get u anything except concept art in the bonus materials which left no reason to waste ur time and health catchin them. This is a game that once u beat, it is no fun, so it's not a great buy, but provides a challenge and fun. Also, one thing that amazed me were the CGI movies which were easily some of the best graphics display I've ever seen, so I don't really sudjest this game as a buy, not even to Starwars fans. I'm a Starwars fan, and this game was generally a dissapointment.

Lucas Arts has really done it this Time!!!! |
| Nathan Ariel from Portland, Oregon (USA) says (24/Dec/2002): |
I own star wars bounty hunter, along with Clone wars, and Jedi knight II: Jedi outcast, and Bounty hunter is by far the best. You have multiple weapons to take out your prey with, and multiple ways to do it. Add a jetpack and a awesome personallity, and what do you get? Jango fett starring in his own game: Star Wars Bounty Hunter. The first level may be a little dis-heartening, but don't worry, it gets better. From the second level on, its pure action. You travel to coruscant, malistair, a moon or too, and way more. You even have the Kamino saber dart that Jango uses on Zam Wessel when she's about to tell Anikin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi who she was working for. Yes, you DO have you flame thrower, and yes, IT ROCKS!!! You are assigned a job to find the leader of a very mysterious gang, but your not the only one looking for HER.Yes, your prey is a deranged female jedi who has gone to the dark side, and she is armed with two lightsabers! The graphics are just what you expect from Lucas Arts - State-of-the-art, and the plot is great!!! I love this game, and if you own a gamecube, this is a MUST HAVE!!!!!!

This is the best Star Wars game out there!!!! |
| Darth Slaughter from Seattle Wa. U.S.A. says (22/Apr/2003): |
I just finished Star Wars Bounty Hunter and I have to say this is one of the best third person shooters I have ever played!! Lucas Arts did a fantastic job with the graphics. Some of the best I've ever seen from Lucas Arts. The in game cinematics are almost movie like. The sound quality you come to expect from Skywalker Sound is all there. The controls are also quite easy to get used to. The game comes with some bonus items that give you abit of insite to who,how and why Jango Fett is a bounty hunter. It comes with an in game Dark Horse comic on Jango and outtakes of the game(which is probably the only low point of this game, unless you like dry humor). The game also ties in great with the Star Wars films. I consider myself to be a good gamer and this game still took me a few weeks to beat. I had lots of fun all the way through to the end!! If you love Star Wars, you'll absolutely love this game. If you just want a really good shoot'em up give this one a shot, I promise you won't be disapointed

The best game in a while! |
| A gamer says (11/Dec/2002): |
I loved Star Wars Bounty Hunter! The characters are incredibly colorful, and the storyline never goes crazy (Like in the Clone Wars). Plus, the main villian was, for once, a woman. That isn't common, and I was glad they had some butt-kicking ladies in there. (GO LUCAS ARTS!!) Anyhoo, The best part of the game was by far the out-takes. (Simply Hilarious, I might say!) Especially the one where Jango dances for Jabba...how could I forget that one...and the last one where he is attacking a pingpong ball (These both being treasured, classic Star Wars moments. We would all agree that this would embarass Boba Fett.) My little brother really loved it because Jango was the main dude and he is a HUGE, GIGANTIC fan of him. So to all you Jango Fett fans, BUY THIS GAME!!! Even if you hate Star Wars, buy this game! I guarentee you'll LOVE it!

This game rocks |
| Dave from Tampa, USA says (7/Apr/2003): |
First, in response to the previous review about Jango Fett's past, i refer to the official starwars website link. http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/jangofett/eu.html
Considering starwars.com the official source of starwars info, Jango and Jaster are 2 different people. Now, the game is great. the graphics are top notch, the sound is great, but what makes it so good is the story. You feel like you are Jango Fett and really sink into the story. the environments are superb, from the skyscrapers of coruscant to the prison. there is more thinking involved than just shooting everyone, such as choosing the best weapon (which in this game, unlike others, actually matters) and using the jet pack to your advantage during fights. this game is a must have for everyone, starwars fan or not.

Why do they all glich |
| Work Smarter Not Harder from Prosser, WA says (25/Feb/2003): |
Well like all Star Wars game this one has more than its fair share of glitches. I like the blasters, and I’m glad I don’t have to constantly search for ammo. I think that the auto aim is annoying at time but is far better than using a separate control for aiming and movement on a game controller. I think the graphics were nice thought it made it sometimes hard to gauge distances. I think catching the bounties also added difficulty because you weren't able to barge into a room and blown everything away, and were required to use strategy to bring them in alive. My favorite part in the game was running into a past bounty at the prison asteroid. I think that I would recommend people to wait till the price goes down a bit then buy it.

MUST HAVE GAME |
| Monkeyman from Sandy Hook, CT, USA says (25/Feb/2003): |
This is one of the best games i have ever played... ever. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter gives a good name to the Star Wars franchize after years of tyerrible games upto the realese of the Star Wars: Rouge Leader series. Ever since I saw Jango and Boba Fett in AOTC, TESB, and ROTJ, i always wanted to play a game like with the Fett Family name. Know that I have, i has defied all of my expectations. This game stays loyal to that Star Wars series while creating it's own story. The graphics may not be the best for gameplay but for cut scenes, they rock. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a must have for Star Wars fans. Those who are not loyal to the trilogy and do not like shooters or action games, you may want to pass.

Great Story, Bad Playing |
| Tulkas A. from Ontario, Canada says (23/Mar/2003): |
I gave this game a 5 because I thought that the story was perfect. It was the ONLY thing that kept me in the game. However, I have to agree that Outcast is FAR better. The camera angles in this game along with the auto-aim made it seem as if I wasn't doing anything. I really get annoyed when I can't even see the enemy however I can get 100% accuracy while they are running in circles. Maybe if this game had multiplayer it would have been worth buying. However I am very glad to have rented it before buying it. Also, I always say that if you can beat a rented game in one renting (two nights) then the game is not long/hard enough. Amazing graphics and sounds. Just needs work on the actual playing side.

AMAZING!!!!! |
| IAN from Liverpool says (20/Jun/2004): |
This game is incrediable!!!!! Its a must for all starwars fans!!!!! Take control of jango fett with his Jet pack, missial, duel blasters wich can be amed at more than two enermys than onece and collect bountys with the wipcord. The graphics are in credible but some of the levles are not that highly detaled meaning when you go in side buildings thats why i gave it 9/10 how ever the stunts weapons the icrediable prison levels and the last levle which is best of all fighting a deranged sith is out of thus world and the cut sceens are like nothing ive seen before!!!!! when i completed it i wanted to carry on but i couldent *******cry**sniff*****sob YOU MUST GET THIS

best STAR WARS game yet |
| Ryan Merritt from WoodStock. Ga USA says (29/Mar/2005): |
when i bought the game i wasn't to sure but in the end i was blowin at of my seat. the stroy line was great the uses of weapons and ur jetpack, just gave it more of a kick, and the bounties.....wow. i can't say i was able to catch bounties in ne of the rouge squadrons. i give this game a 10 for its cut sences and graphics. it gets hard near the end but its worth it. besides how many ppl can say the killed a sith and not be a jdei not many. but in the end its still one of the best starwars game i have owned and plaied. i am gald i was able to get it and if u don't have it get u missing something great

the best i have played |
| Joey Furco from Elgin, SC USA says (23/Apr/2003): |
it helps to skipp levels and stuff, but i am a gamer that want to get everything done in a game you know i want to explore the whole game.... there is no code for weapons...or keeping yourself alive or anything cool and weird you know disappointing. other then that it was an ok game with the graphics and stuff... and the story line fits and everything it just get boring after a while you know like you play and after you keep doin to same damn thing over and over again you want to stop and watch T.V or sumthing i just don't like that feeling in a game......you dig!
|
not too bad.... |
| mike from charlotte, NC, USA says (15/Dec/2002): |
the game isn't too bad, but if anyone has read the books from the Star Wars universe, they would know that the movie, and the game are wrong. Boba Fett was origionally Journyman Protector Jaster Mereel, and he was exiled from Concord Dawn for killing a man. This info and story, which was written in 1996, in the compilation "Tales of the Bounty Hunters." This is the main reason that I am very disapointed in the story behind the game. Otherwise, gameplay isn't half bad, but there are games which are much better. in all, it's graphics are nice, and it's fun to play

The defining moment in Star Wars games. |
| Nathan from Cedar Rapids, USA says (2/Dec/2002): |
Fearless. Ruthless. Relentless. These are the words that describe the bounty hunters of Star Wars. Awesome. Incredable. These words describe Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Bounty Hunter is an admirable substitute for a long awaited Boba Fett game, which hopefully is on the way as a sequel. Jango is here with weapons all over his armor-clad form. The characters are all well done and the game is more addictive than Halo. If you even remotely like Shadows of the Empire, GET THIS GAME!! The game play is incredable and the stroy is next to none.

Overated |
| A gamer from London says (24/Feb/2003): |
I agree that Star Wars bounty hunter has good graphics with the animation on Jango being excellent however it is certainly not worth 10/10. The levels become very repetitive very quickly and when you get to Tatooine especially, i find no pleasure in giong from area to area jumping around and blasting rapidly. It is a simple blaster with no strategy at all. Also the bounty hunting aspect is weak and it takes so long to find a bounty and target it that in levels full of enemies its often just not worth it in case you loose a continue.

THE BEST GAME I HAVE FOR PS2 |
| Luis from Spring Valley, CA,USA says (10/Apr/2004): |
This is totally the best STAR WARS game I have ever played. The graphics are top-notch and the action never stops. The storyline is so informative that you actually want to watch it.It actually matters what weapons you use in this game. There is a rich variety of alien species to see and capture. This game is good that I'm up in the morning before anyone else is awake playing this game.If there has to be a downside to this game,it would have to be te outtakes which are pretty dumb. This game is a must for anybody who likes videogames

What a Game |
| A gamer from No says (26/Jan/2003): |
The game was very well made. The game kept the feel of Star Wars throughout it and challenged every aspect a bounty hunter could face. The charecters were vibrant and had great personalities. The game had challenges, but wasn't impossible. The only thing that could be improved was the bounty system. It got frustrating trying to mark the bounties. Just the same it was a great game. I really like the extras that were included. It's about time someone made a game based on the Fett family. Who wouldn't want to be like Jango?

i love it!! |
| smarty[pants] from sacromento,california,USA says (21/Dec/2002): |
well i dont know what other people are thinking or if there doing drugs or maybe they just dont play vidio games to know the differance. But bounty hunter is awosome to me and a completely differant type of game. You can also really tell that lucas arts put alote of time into this game((like they mostly do)).And the grafics once agian are great and i still dont understand why people say it looks like nintendo and actualy mean it. so basicly i give bounty hunter alote of stars and its a great game

This game is the bomb! |
| Nicholas from Woodstock Ga in America says (13/Apr/2003): |
Okay, I have to say this first, that the game is awsome. My opinion says, the graphics are a okay, the sound's alright and it is long enough to accualy be challinging. I was suprised to see the character's mouths ACCUALY move!!! The only part I hate about the game is, your jet pack is limited while in-flight. (I hear there is a code for that though I dunno it.) Well the game is Okay and the rest is alright, but Like I said, I don't like that Jetpack limit.

Great graphics, little replay value |
| A gamer from Omaha, NE, USA says (8/Mar/2003): |
After beating Bounty Hunter, which doesn't take all that long, you are not likely to play it again. I own both Jedi Outcast and Bounty Hunter and prefer Outcast by far. This game is good, but as far as Star Wars first person shooters, Outcast is superior. The lack of multiplayer hinders the game, and of course, no lightsabers. Finally, it is worth noting that the auto-aim gets old and makes the game too repetitive. It is a good game to rent though.
