Animal Crossing Rocks I give It Two Thums way up!!!39342

SLAYERFAN #1 from California says (26/Feb/2004):
The first time I heard about this game I thought man this game is goin to suck so much ass. But when I went to video game store I decided why not I should give a trie. So I rented it. As soon as I got to my house I put it on back then I had no games so I had no memory in my game card. So it was easy to play. As soon as I started to play I got hook. I mean I started to play around 4pm before I notice it was 11pm men did time past. this game is the bomb!!!!!!!! I mean I knew I had to buy this game. so I did since then this game has still been my favorite I mean I been having this game for a year now and it still kicks ass. I even convice some of my friends to buy this game and we have been exchanging memory cards to travel to each others town its so cool. The best thing I like about this game is how one can buy his own house. Later one pays of his debt by doing and selling stuff. But what still amazmis is how ther is a neverending amount of stuff. I mean I have a zelda sword how cool is that. But what really kicks ass is the fishing. Man I love to fish before the first week I had been playing I had all the fishes all ready. I mean this games kicks ass. All my friends like it I like it and Im in 11th grade!!!!!!!!! No one who has played this game ever said this game suck because they loved and eventualy end up buying it. I mean this game its addictive. i recommend this game to eveybody. I hope Theres a second part and soon.

SHHHHHHH!!! The cows talkin, Mom!15101

Dr. Chum from Oroville, Califonia says (9/Jan/2003):
ok, i was in my room, reading a nintendo power. i saw an article for a game called animal crossing. i didnt bother to read the article at first, actually, i avoided it. but, finally the time came for me to read the article. i did. and it was love at first paragraph. im a 17 year old punk gamer. and i love animal crossing. i read the article in like, july, and i was so anxious about getting the game, that i drove 2 towns over to reserve my copy that same day. for a little under 2 months i was so anxious about getting the game that i was literally in physical pain. you know? that feeeling when you want something so badly and with all your heart that your chest feels like its caving in? thats the one. oh yes, thats the one. finally, the magic day of september 17th came. i drove over there(my cousin with me)and picked it up.
when we got back home, my cousin told me, "wait! we should savor this momen before we play it!" i looked at him, and said "whats all this 'we' crap youre talkin about?" i popped the disk in, turned it on, and fell it love.(again). the weight had been lifted, the game was in my posession, the world was ening, and i didnt care. you know why? because i was negotiating sound settings with a talking dog ith a guitar. oh, yes! a guitar.
and the rest, is history. this isnt a game you can rent, oh no, you have to buy this game to fully experince......perfection.
sweet, sweet.......Perfection......

It's pie...37244

jjkemp04 from Hershey, PA USA says (23/Dec/2003):
Many of the reviews have in them that the loans are hard to pay off. Well, if anyone remembers, Joan the Stalk Marketer comes on Sunday mornings and sells the equivalent of stock. I've bought them for 87 bells a stalk, bought 1,000, and sold them to Nook for 948 bells, a piece! Getting money isn't hard if you use money trees, the stalk market, plant fruit trees from other towns, and fish for the big ones (go to your island). The other thing is, if you start new players and fill up all four houses, yea there'll be 4 times the daily weeds, but also, 4 times the glowing money spots, and four times the amount of things to dig up. Fossils are very high sellers, so use them. Make sure you plant flowers everywhere. I plant 3 on each side of every inhabitant's house in my town, at the foot of the cliffs, the fence along the railroad tracks, the museum, anywhere important. I have 16 people in my town currently! Try to get the items of more than one set, especially if you decide to put a person in every house in your town. Here's what I did: I used up a second house and had him find his glowing money spot, pay for paper to send fossils to the museum, and give me all the profits. The house payments are about $1.5 million, it's hefty, but I did it in two months. The stalk market has helped me a lot, that's where I get most of my money from. All in all, just getting that house paid off is easy as pie.

Cleaning House Has Never Been This Much Fun!19107

JBabe from AL says (12/Mar/2003):
This game is so addicting, that you find yourself canceling a night out on the town so you won't miss K.K. on Sat. night! I've heard a lot of complaints about graphics, but who needs them. The details are awesome! The amount of furniture, wallpaper, flooring and items you can get for your home is outstanding. What tops that, is being able to design your own clothes! I can see a new wave of "card trading" among kids. Memory card trading, that is. The most disapointing aspect of the game is not having much to do after 11:00 pm. Most of your fellow villagers are sleeping, which means "you" (game player) should probably be doing the same! This game is especially fun for husbands and wives. Your real home maybe falling to pieces, but you'll make improvements neccesary to out do your spouses town! I thought the charater voices and background music suited the game well. "Artistic" music would have been too much anyway. This game can go on forever, and is worth every cent. I haven't seen a better game for kids yet. It teaches kids how to write letters, help out neighbors, save money, stay tidy, improve community, make up music, and allows artistic creativity. The creators of this game should be commended for this awesome achievement. They have created a game that interests five year olds to fifty year olds. I'm sure Sim lovers alike are waiting for the next AC to come out onto the shelves soon. I am!

Best game in, like, uh... ever!!21397

Roxanne from Chicago, Illinois, USA says (15/Apr/2003):
I have had Animal Crossing since November 1st or 2nd. It is worth every single pennny. Other games have one goal and possibly even a time limit to reach it. This game has a beginning, but no middle or end and you can do whatever you please and set personal goals for yourself. This is what makes this game so different and sooo highly addictive. The graphics, I admit, are not that good, but they fit the somewhat naive(in a good way) style of the game. It is a sure-thing for sims fans and if you like this game and has not already, buy the Prima guide. It gives you hints and lists every single item.

The extensive list of items is also very amazing. I have not yet seen the same special item in Tom's store more than twice.I am currently trying to pay off my final house debt so I can get a statue of myself (seems kinda vain when you type it out loud...) I also think that they should be giving more information on AC2, some people cannot wait much longer to at least HEAR of the improvements.

FOR EVERYONE WHO IS SO PHYCHED OUT ABOUT TIME TRAVEL: Concider this: if you get a new watch that is set to the wrong time, that does not really change the time in the real world, and the watch DOES NOT KNOW that it is wrong. Same goes for gamecube. I mean, it can be Christmas in July and the game won't know, nor will it care. I myself have "traveled through time" and has never had a doubt it would work.

SO AWSOME!!!!!!!!34038

Animal Crossing Finatic from Canada says (25/Oct/2003):
I am totally addicted to this game! i play when i come home from shool till i have to go to sleeep! it even has me waking up at 8:00 on weekends to get some mushrooms!!! I love this game because of the real life time and all the stuff to do! I like running errands! Somtimes i get so many at once I forget where i was supposed to go! It's so cool that like everyday in the beiginning of your game somone new moves in! well not everyday but close enough! i have only about 12 peeps living in my town but there are still more to come!! I love the trill of not knowing what fish your gonna catch!! I hate the sea bass though because i catch them every 5 seconds it really get's annoying. I love everything about this game! My favourite characters are Bones and Anchovey because they are so cute and nice. the others like blaire are rude! but their personalitties may change in different games i don't know but in mine they are so snotty! I am 14 and a female and I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!! Oh yah and i spell bad so sorry! LOL! it makes the peeps on the village mad cause i wwrite to many non-sense letters!LOL! but that is awsome because they get mad and write mean letters back! It's like they accualy think:) I will play this game forever!!! The only thing that could make it better is if you could get married( but you would start as a animal) like in harvestmoon. otherwise though this game is da bomb:):):)

It's a GREAT GAME, but there is a few mistakes.36644

Hiedi Rae from Rhode Island, USA says (6/Dec/2003):
I think Animal Crossing is a great game. There's only a few things I would change. Even though paying MOST of my debts was fairly easy, my current debt is harder than I live! I have a base-ment, and up-stairs, ALL of the biggest you can get, but the debt is like in the 700,000's! As long as I visit all of the cheat web-sites, it's a little bit easier, but if there is an Animal Crossing 2, the debts should be easier, you should be able to do things like cook, do laundry, clean, and other things nessasery for life and the game will be perfect! Another mistake is that there are no theaters, malls, skating rinks, etc. AND you can't, like, have a party and like have company in your house! At least there's SOMEWHERE to shop, but they don't have things like magazines you can actually read! And you have to where this totally dork-style hat ALL THE TIME! The clothes you where should have seperate pants and shirts so you don't have to match like a granny all the time! The music is terrible and there's only one singer to choose from! NO CHOICE THERE! But the good parts of AC are that it's real life! It's not one of those "FIGHT" or "Race" games! BUT REAL LIFE! GREAT! AC is probably the best game I've ever played, but it could surely kick some of the other games I still play into the hole and it be the only game if some of it's mistakes were corrected. And hopefully AC2 will be a lot better!

Sims? So-so. Animal Crossing? Wow!!!!39885

Jen from A little suburb of Detroit, MI says (21/Mar/2004):
Ok we've had the game for 2 years now and I have 3 characters, my husband has 2, and my 2 year old can walk his character up to see the choo-choo. How cool is that?! I've dubbed it the sims for the schedule challenged. Look at it this way, your character doesn't get mad at you, go bankrupt, or die! That would do it for pretty much any kid who is terrible at any other type of video game. And the characters are animals! Savannah and Pecan are my girls! My baby likes the kitty cats and monkeys. The graphics are neat, the sound is excellent, and unless I earn every item in Nook's catalog somehow I will be playing for a very long time. Oh and my baby still works for Nook so if he gets into it as much as I have (someday) we could probably still be playing it 20 years from now (on mini-disc on cell phones?) Hey it could happen, I still have a Nintendo. I am sorry, but anyone who can't find something they really like about this game needs to get an imagination or a sense of humor! It's just the most fun thing to ever happen to a Nintendo system. If the rumors are true and there is a sequel coming, I'm getting it! What was up with the strange commercials for it, I'm glad I took a chance in the video store.

P.S. My son loves watching them eat, sleep and waking up, and the way their eyes bug out of their heads and the noise it makes when you bang your shovel on concrete or rocks :)

Animal crossing Rules39972

The Grim Reaper from N.J. United States of America says (25/Mar/2004):
I nor any one can do Animal Crossing Justice in any review no matter how hard they try. Animal crossing is just the best game I've ever played especialy for the Game Cube. I've had it since it came out and have not stopped playing it yet I have played other games as well but none can keep my interest as long as Animal Crossing has. I've never missed a day of play with my Animal Crossing game i say every one in the world should own a coppy and even if you hate animals and video games this can get u hooked on bolth. The game has to do with you moveing to a new town to live on your own and you move to a town of animals where you buy a house and have to work off your debt, get expantions, complet furniture siries, make friends, collect full versins of NES games (not the best NES games but still awsome ones), fill a museum with art you find, dino bones (made by sending fossils to a far away museum), fish, and bugs, and get a golden ax, a golden shovel, a golden fising rod, and a golden bug net and get more animals to come to your town by makeing it weed free and flower and fruit tree filled but not too many just enough to make it look good. You can get many characters to move to your town, My personal favorite characters are Puck the penguin and Lucky the dog. Well I think I did a good enough job describing Animal Crossing that I could but, not the justice it deseves.

The Last Game I'll Probably Ever Play41571

mallory knox from Greenville, NC, USA says (30/Jun/2004):
I was first introduced to this game by hearing my sister playing it at 6:00 in the morning. The people talking annoyed me to death and I swore I would get rid of it. After I watched all the possiblities of the game, I couldn't help but try it out. Get my own house? Collect stuff? Alright! Every time I wake up in the morning, I play it, putting in codes and meeting people. The people in my town, < remove me > at comical, are all the people that live in my house. My mom (44) , my dad (38), my sister (13), and me (23). I am now hunting bugs, which is the hardest thing. I've got every outdoor thing in my house you could imagine. I can even put signs up around houses of people I don't like. If anybody gets someone cool like Bob and Tangy in your town, or Marcy the Kangaroo, you are lucky. Just wath out for the ugly pig or the mean bird. I just wish I got the wolf. There are so many things you can buy at Nook's store, and lots of things from the black market, a fox named crazy Redd. It's great. The only real gripe I have about this game is to experience it fully, you have to get a gameboy advance cable to go to the other island, and another full memory card to visit/make another city. Other than that, it's great.I've never had such a personal experience with a game. I only need 6 more fish to go before I am done. Here's a code for 30,000 bells: WB2&pARAcnOwnU jMCK%hTk8JHyrT

THIS GAME ROX MAH SOX OFF!42892

Sasha animal-crossing lover from Honolulu, Hawaii, USA says (23/Oct/2004):
I think this game rox. When i first saw it inh the stores I thought this cool. When i got it, it was even better. I think its so awesome you can make friends by sending letters and can visit othere towns. My whole town is covered in fruit trees and tom nooks shop is a department store now and has 2 foors. Its awesome. My house has 2 floors and i have tons off rare items. ive played this for over a 2 years and i still love it. Now im trying something out. I heard from another site that if you put items in your saved letters at the post office when you delete the town the letters will still be there. i'm trying that out but im putting my money in the othere town just in case lol! Try it out? i have alot of codes from othere sites and i almost know everything about the game! I even know how boy characters can get a inhabitant girlfriend and get a kiss or a get dumped bye her. Got questions? I'll answer them at kutestpunkalive< remove me > at yahoo.com . Another cool thing is that if a person moves from your town she/he can move back if they want to. and if you have more than 1 memory card the peeple who recently moved can come and visit your town. if you travelo on the trane and happen to see blanca you can draw on her face. sometimes she mite visit your town and her recent drawn face will be on her face. in the meen time have fun playing your game. - sasha

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU CAN ONLY GIVE IT A 1026909

Holly Whatsit from Vancouver, BC says (2/Jul/2003):
I had just gotten a brand new, sparkling (okay, just plain black) Gamecube in the middle of summer. I was happy beyond belief, even though I had never heard of the wonderful AC yet. But I soon got bored with playing Super Smash bros. over and over... so I rented Animal Crossing out of curiosity. THAT, I tell you, was the best decision I have ever made. The game goes on for ever, so you're not always saying "Oh, this is so coooool, but I'm almost done and then I'll have to PLAY IT AGAIN!!! the animals in your village are always different than the ones in, say, your friend's town, though that garbled way they have of speaking gets a bit annoying. But the best part is.... YOU LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT!!!!! You don't get my drift? Well, if you're a girl, you have these scary eyes, sticky-out hair and that EVIL HAT you're always wearing. If you're a guy, it's much the same, except guys have a flat hat, not pointed and even weirder hair. This game, in it's entirety is great. I'd give the graphics a 9.5 (I'm a sucker for that fake-looking grass), gameplay, a 10 (I'll still be playing this game when I'm 56!) and for sound...an 8 (Music's great, but that animalese speech is quite annoying). I'm addicted to this game, and the world would be a better place if you were too. (By the way, I don't actually give it 10 stars, I give it 15,000!)

Animal Crossing is the next new thing.33845

Justin from (Louisiana) USA says (21/Oct/2003):
This is the game right here. I got it about five weeks and so for it is different from any game I have ever played. I love it's style and new life experience. The graphics rule for the kind of gameplay it is. I was looking for something new when getting this game and that is exectly what I've got. If you are tired of the same video game this game is for you. You start off in a train where you meet a new friend that helps you get a house in the new town you will be living in. From there it is up to you on how you live your live in this game. I always wondered if Nintendo could pull off making a fun game whith no violence are even order in which to play. With this game they did exactly that. The newest and most mind blowing thing that make this game different then any other is that it goes by real time. Like maybe a guy would be in your town every Saturday, or on holidays you will celebrat that holiday. You need a full memory card, which mine came with the game, so no problem there. Plus you definitly get your moneys worth in how long and all you can do. I would rate this a 10 for it is just amazing. This game isn't for everyone however, if you can't just chill and relax and don't enjoy building your sourroundings then you probuly wouldnt enjoy this game. I am really looking forward to more games like this in the future.

Better than any other Video Game!!!21871

Tom Nook from Texas, USA says (21/Apr/2003):
When I first saw those scary commercials on TV with people dressed up as cartoons, I can admit that I was scared. At rental stores, there are usually about 5 extra copies just sitting there, so I decided to rent one, and try it out. Then I took a look at the back of the game, and nearly screamed. ONE WHOLE MEMORY CARD DEVOTED TO THIS GAME!!! Now it must be really worth it, I thought. We bought another memory card at the store, and when we got home, I turned on the GC, and I played that night. I couldn't stop playing. So I bought my own copy. The game goes on forever, so you can have fun all year round. There are original NES games included, so it is about 15 games in one. Each game is different, so every town has a different layout, and you can travel to other people's games. You can customize your own house interior, so the theme may be exotic, spooky, Japanese style, and much more. Up to four people can live in the same village, and they all can interact, for example, you can sell items to other people, or if you talk to animals in the town, they will comment about other people. There are so many other great things that I loved about this game, but one main detail was that I had the most fun playing Animal Crossing than any other game!

BEST GAME EVER!25298

Sarah Fuller from Torrance, USA says (13/Jun/2003):
If I could I would give this game a 1000000 score. Out of all the games I have ever played Animal Crossing is the best. There are some parts I dont like about it though. Some things you can't use. Like an elephant slide: You can't slide down it or anything, it just sits there looking stupid. I hope that in AC2 we can have more actions to do. Here are all my ratings:
GRAPHICS: 9.9 it's almost a 10 but I think that some stuff could be drawn a little better.
SOUND: 10 PERFECT!
GAMEPLAY: 9 I think you should be able to get a backyard in your house or like 2 rooms on the bottom floor.
I think Tom Nook should be able to get a bigger store. That mall he has is pretty good but I think there should be a resteraunt or an arcade or something. I also think that There should be more people being able to move into your village. And the animals should be able to go inside places because if you really went to a mall or a museum you wouldn't be the only one there and there should be animals there that you dont know like tourists or something. One last thing, I think that there should be able to be more than one person on at a time, Like if you have more than one controller you could plug both of them in and the screen would be cut in half.

10 stars!!! I toatly love it!!!18069

Jewl from Massachusetts, USA says (22/Feb/2003):
  Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing is the best game I have ever owned!!! If you like alot of fighting and big action mabye this game is too much like real life to you.

I like Animal Crossing because it is alot like real life and it uses the same time as real life!!! Everything happens if you are there or not. What stinks is when in the begining, you toatly have to pay of a large dept (I havent done yet because this is my 2ed day with it). I am soooooo mad because I did not get it eirlier!!!!!>:( You also get a free memory card with it too!!!

There is only 1 thing wrong with it though.......the grapics. I mean it dosent ruin the whole game!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! The game is toatly awsome!!!!! People(animails) can get mad at you and also love you for ever!!!!!!!!!! In this game life doesent revolve around you!!!

And the best part is, is that you can go into other peoples towns!!! Wait and there is more!!!!! You can meet people online and they can tell you thier name (animal crossing name) and town (animal crossing town) and you can tell it to the shop owner and give him a item and he will tell you a password and the person you met online will tell thier shopkeeper the password and they will get the item!!!!!!!!!!

I deff agree with Amy Okamuro44827

A gamer from Columbus, Ohio United States says (9/Jun/2005):
I also think that Animal Crossing needs some stuff. Like being about to drive, shop more, work full time, AND MORE THAN ONE PERSON NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO PLAY AT THE SAME TIME! I get so bored talking to the *stupid* animals who live in my town. They don't know anything! And it makes me mad that I can't TALK to them. It's a controled conversation. I think that Animal Crossing should go online, (like Halo). And you could a city where other people could be in city at the same time as you. (But the specific town you live in should be private to your memory card, though the city is not, you can't have everyone who is playing all over the world being able to cut down and plant trees in your town!) But it would deffinetly be more fun if you could actually talk to other SMART people who are playing at the same time. It would make the game more interesting. I also think that you should be able to get hurt, and I don't mean just bee stings. I mean serious injury, and death. That would keep players interested and more cautious. Some players cheat a lot and don't really care about what happens. If injury and death were an option, the risks would be bigger, more consequntial, and more fun.

Awesome game!!20713

Rob Kraebeck from Southold, New York, USA says (6/Apr/2003):
This is the coolest game ever! There are so many components that go into it. I have gotten so far in it, you can keep remodeling your house for as long until you get to the second story. It shows good responsibility skills, like paying off your house. The graphics are really good although they could be a little better, like the fish are kinda cheap in the museum. on a scale of 1-10 i would give the graphics an 8. The sound is really good, because it sounds like real animals i would give that a 9. The fun factor is a definite 10! People move into your town, you get to catch bugs and fish, and collect fossils. My favorite part is deffinetly the fish catching part, i have caught 19 fish out of like 30. Paying off the house is always a challange. Many things go into this game, like fung shui. If you put all the things of one color to one side, and all the things of another to another side, the HRA will really give you points and cool stuff. I love the reincrnation of games like ice-climbers and mario land and donkey-kong for NES. My favorite is Excite Bike. YOu can get NES consuls. It is deffinetly worth the money, just looking at all the things you can do in the game.
