Best of the best |
| A gamer from Florida, U.S.A. says (29/Jul/2003): |
I belive this game sould have a rate of a ten is because just look at it the games garafics are like you are actully in the suit shoting all the strange creatures that u must scan. My favorite boss is Ridly even though he is creapy from the awsome graphics he is still the funist opp. tho fight. When he fires the weird plasma beam from his mouth it looks so real. If you play for a ling time and you get in to the game when some thing shoots at you you actuly move as if you are actully being shot at! All the little abilites that you get are so cool the morph ball, the bomb ball, the boast ball, the spider ball, the power bomb ball, the charge beam, the super missil, the wave beam, the wave buster, the ice beam, the ice spreader, the plasma beam(my favorite W.O.C.), the FLAMETHROWER!!!!!!!,AND THE ALL TIME BEST THE PHAZON CANON. But you can only use that when you fight the 2nd form of the metroid Prime. If you dont have this I show much pitty on you on the amount of fun you are missing so get to a store and buy this game.

metroid prime fantastic |
| robert from madison heights va usa says (21/Jan/2003): |
i simply love this game. and allmetroid games. i've been glued down to the seat for the past days. the graphics get all around you.the music heats up when your in battle.all the huge amazingly grafted levels to go through. how the steam from brokon visors cloud your vision. the great bosses and weapons. also i like how you don't have to wait about 10 minutes to load a level. you just walk into a room AND START tearing them to peices. the grafted enemys and bosses mini bosses the game is totaly top rate software.i just got the plasma beams and i'm strolling around the mines waiting for a space pirate to pop up with its ugly face.love the music when you battle. it might get slower when you come into a room with alot of people and you might want to withdraw back through the door to take shelter. all the beautifully designed special effects and weapons.and there is one major thing i like the way it gives that all alone feeling on a huge planet full of creepy monsters and stuff =)=)
i just totaly love it. 10 stars=)

Samus storms gamecube |
| A gamer from Surrey, England says (6/Apr/2003): |
Every so often an great game will come along like mario 64 and ocarina of time and metroid prime is one such game. This game is superb, it challenges everything from wits to just sheer power. The graphics are outstanding and its aftershock will felt for years to come as developers try to emulate its magic, most probably without coming close. This game is a cracking yarn, delivered in a way that does away with hackneyed dialogue and character relasionships that infect so many games. After playing it i now realise that £39.99 is a bargain for such a great game like this.Throughout the course of the game you'll need to engage your powers of perception, observation and survival skills. This is the best looking gma ron the cube to date - no debate about it.At around 40 hours of gameplay for £40 its a bargain, a pound an hour! There is so much playability to this game due to the metroid fusion link up.There are no flaws to the sound however it does have to end like all games, but then you can play it again.

best game ever |
| john from houston, USA says (10/Dec/2002): |
when i first heard that nintendo was making another metriod game i couldnt wait for it when i found out it was going to be in first person but when i fist got it i was amazed it blew away any other game i ever played but there were a few down sides i had noticed 1st the space jump was changed and that also meant no screw attack which came very helpful in super metriod.
2nd no spazer beam which i thought was pretty cool 3rd no spring ball and 4th no speed boost all of these were classic metriod upgrades. but instead of adding those they put in some hardcore new weapons as the wave buster which i found too mainly waste missles but looks cool and ice spreader and flame thrower other than beam upgrades the spider ball is a solid addition to samus's tool box and boost ball can come in handy to and graphics are way better than i expected and the plasma beam is really cool you can incinerate enemies with a few shots and all and all it is one of the best games i ever played at least thats my opinion.

"Prime" choice |
| EvilSmurf from Melbourne Victoria Australia says (12/May/2003): |
I'm a big fan of hiring for a day then buying if I'm taken with a Game as I have been caught paying good money for crap.
My wife listened to my noises of wanting to check out Samus and Hired MP last friday and we already have a late fine. Addiction? More like Obsession, it's sitting in my bag as I write this and I still feel my trigger finger itching to blast whatever I can find, Damn those wasps are a pain in the Butt (but FUN!!). Level upon level to explore, Save points that are apart but not too far away from the action ensure you stay on your toes.
I'm still investigating the planet and I find myself torn between which level I attack first. Last time I ever had that option? Can't Remember. At last a game that lets you roam at will rather than stick to mission based storyline, til now only on PC was this really an option. It all began with "Do you want to play this game in 60hz?" the answer (of course) was yes, the result is a burgening love affair.
Bravo Nintendo.

Top Shooter Game and Great Graphics |
| Frost from London, Kentucky says (29/Dec/2002): |
This game is one of the top shooter games to me... Depending on what kinda person you are is how much you like it. You May think the graphics are great, the bosses are to hard, and it isnt a game for beginners... but even though. Its how much you like it. The controls on it are rather simple to get. The hidden secrets are rather bit hard to find if you cant see them. To get a good handle to it. Try to blow up must of the crack and crannies, remember to scan everything, and always move around. Im really not a shooter gamer, but metroid is just a classic you must have. Just keep playing... first time I beat it under 20 hours... second as the fusion suit on Hard round 20 hours. Serious RPG players shouldnt get it... Ive hang around serious once all the time and they dish it. But to be a game for the gamecube i give it a 10 for it is a great game for the gamecube and that the play and graphics on it are great. Story on it is amazing and how challenging it is to get 100%.

The 1st Space/Alian game ive ever liked! |
| A gamer from USA says (30/Apr/2003): |
this is one of the best games u can get for ur GC! its fun and at first it kinda seemeed that its stupid and really easy and boring, but dang it gets really fun. theres like 6 bosses but there really complex in grapics and arnt ur normol boring easy bosses. these bosses r HARD to beat and figure out how to beat them ( except the o so easy 1st boss). the game never gets u bored because u get tons of new wepons and new tecnoligy like, rocket expansions, power boams, ice beam, flammthrower, boost ball, space boots, and much more! the game is composed of different worlds and tons of creatures. i specificly loved the boss fights which really challenged me and took a lot of power to do so. the only reason i cant give it a 10 is because i got so bored of it ( after i beat it) and really dont want to play it ne more after ive beat it, but it is a really long game so it does keep u likein it for a LONGGGGGGGGG TIME! well over all this is 1 of the best GC games out!

Metroid Prime is mighty fine |
| Jon from Toronto, Canada says (30/Nov/2002): |
I knew metroid prime would not disapoint. i waited long and it was worth the wait. the graphics are beautiful and smooth and the new view is an awesome change for an oldschool classic. people complain that the 1st player view ruins the game, but if Metroid Prime was a sidescroller than the same idiots would be complaining that the gameboy advance version and the gamecube version were too similar. anyone that critisizes Shiguru Miyamoto, founder and creator of Nintendo, or his decisions about how to do a game is obviously a moron. xbox and playstation bought their status with their parent companies (microsoft and sony) bottomless treasure chest of money and even the members of xbox and PS2's staff wouldnt dare to speak out against the video game guru. in short metroid prime is amazing. if you dont like the view change, dont buy it but its your loss, you narrow-minded know-it-all's. to everyone else, enjoy! i know you will.

HOLY JESUS!!! try and find a better game, I dare you!!!! |
| Dr Chum from oroville, california, U.S.A says (26/Nov/2002): |
ok,i have been waiting for this game for months, and on 11\18\02, the release date for this most incredible game, not a single store in my stupid little town had it. i was ready to go on a killing spree. i was that mad. this game was so amazing, and all i'd done was watch a preview of it. when i finally got the game the next day( i took a bus to a neighboring town, i wasnt going to wait for a damn eternity!!!) and i got home. i turned on my GC, and sat back, and watched the main menu. i fell in love with the game after just watchig the MENU PEOPLE!!! the graphics are more than breathtaking, they are straight up beautiful! the controls are so fluid, you dont even know that youre playing a game. when i bought it, it was 7AM, and i played it until 2AM the next day!!! its that good! i didnt get bored once, i was having a blast! so for anyone who thinks this game sucks? may god have mercy on your SICK, dememnted soul!!!

If you haven't bought it steal some money! |
| David/Ramza Delita from Corsicana, Tx, US of A says (5/Mar/2003): |
When i first saw the ad my dad and me thought it was a movie, but it was better, it was the best idea nintendo has had since the......Nintendo Entertianment System! The graphics and technology realistics are mind boggling. All the boss fights are fun especially the fight with Meta Ridley. Im almost done with the game i just gotta fight the Metroid Prime and im done. Samus has never been so kewl! The beams are so awesome especially the plasma beam. Fision metroids are hard to beat, I just cant get em. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Metroid Prime happens 2 years after Metroid 1 and a little before Metroid 2. The only way that u can truly get the game and enjoy it to its fullest is to play all the other ones. I have all the Metroids and im proud of it! Closing note: If i had to pick anything to be real in Metroid id have to pick Samus herself, cause she's a hotty! BYE IT! u know u want to.

Not Halo, but damn close! |
| Chris from Albany, NY USA says (13/Mar/2003): |
I am a huge fan of all things Xbox, but when I saw this game I decided to buy the cube. After playing a little while I did not think that this game would hold my interest. However, I picked it back up about a week later and the addiction began. This game is probably the most graphically impresive available for the cube. The textures and lighting are right on. The storyline begins a little sluggish, but then quickly draws you in. The imersion level gets extremely high making you want to clean up Tallon IV, but immersion is hindered by the low number of save stations. You will find yourself running back to save frequently. The difficulty level is about where it should be. The controls could use some work. The controls are better set up for a third person game rather than a FPS. Once you get used to them they are OK. Everything considered this game is very solid and worth the investment.

The Best Game EVER! |
| A gamer from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia says (30/May/2003): |
This game is by far the best game ever created! It has perfect graphics, excellent sound/music, and you actually feel like your in the game itself! This game is everything I've always wanted in a game, it has excellent monsters with cool powers such as Meta Ridley with it's Fire Beam and it has high-tech stuff like the ability to collect and use upgrades such as the Super Missle, witch, by the way, is totally cool! The Super Missile is my favourite combo weapon and the Charged Plasma Beam is my second favourite weapon, Power Charge Shot being my favourite. But the other weapons like the Super Morph Ball Bomb are excellent to! This game is perfect, 10/10 in my book, and I'm very picky with games and very hard to impress, witch makes this game simply awesome! If you have a GameCube and don't have this game, then get it! You won't be dissapointed. I promise.

Best on the Cube |
| A gamer from Sydney ,Australia says (10/Apr/2003): |
When i got my hands on this game i was wondering what it would be like. But when i played it, i coundn't stop. Metroid Prime is great from the start, the graphics are fantastic and the sound effects are even better. The game will last you ages to complete which is good because some games you finish in a week and tends to get boring. Because this was the first metroid game i have played i didn't know to expect, some of the monsters are so real looking it makes you jump. There was only one dislike about the game, and this was the backtracting throughout the game, yeh it was good in zelda, but there somtimes only one way and takes it a while. In the end this game gets ten out of ten, and will keep you busy for ages. If you don't have this game, get it. If you have a different game machine, sell it and buy a cube so you can play this great game.

Awsome game with few flaws |
| Mason from Flin Flon,Manitoba,Canada says (25/Dec/2002): |
I have to say that Nintendo has taken the cake with its first so-called 1st person adventure. It has both the strong points of Zelda and Goldeneye and like them maintains average graphics. This game is a must for any 1st person shooter or adventure fan and a serious considerment for everyone else. Although Metroid Prime, like any game probably should be rented first to see if the style of game fits your gaming. Some people complained that the control took getting used to. It took me close to 5 minutes but the control scheme is so effective it’s not even funny (well actually it is). The biggest fault in my opinion is having to scan the living heck out of everything. Though I guess I can't be completely judgemental because I'm only 17% done.I don't know how long the game is because I got it yesterday and played 2H and I'm already 17%.

Prime is Platinum |
| Greg XP from El Cajon, California, USA says (2/Jan/2003): |
There is no real way to say how amazing this game is. The beutiful, straightforward gameplay gets sucked into your mind like your most hated song. The rich environments get you thinking Tallon IV could be a real world. The graphics will stun you as you return to some of the places you've been before and will still astonish you. Control for a game such as this could not ever get any better. The use of the controller is perfect in every way and every button counts while you're slaying the Omega Pirate or any other boss. The sound takes capture of your ears making you realize this IS no ordinary game...this...this small disc...is Metroid Prime. You will never forget such a game. Nintendo returns with a stunning classic. An unkown object is found at your nearest game provider. Press "Z" and check your map to find it; Metroid Prime.

its nice but a hard game |
| josh from montclair,nj says (1/Dec/2002): |
Metroid should never had been made into a first person shooter it reminds me to much about james bond or crap like that but... the graphics kick a**. the one thing that sucks is that it is so g-d damnit hard. This game also has some of the hotest gadgets and weapons on a game ever, such as the old school downtown s*** like the morph ball, spider ball, double jump, grapple beam, and so on they're all there! And same with the weapons, orignal energy beam, charge beam, missle, and ice gun, but you also get a wave beam, charge missle, and the pasma beam. The visors are a very nice touch to an already perfect game, the combat visor(default visor), the scan visor, the x ray visor, and the thermal visor thing. overall i think it is a nice game and u should get it if you r not a pussy!!!!!

A Great, Challenging Game. Thats Rare. |
| Jason Jones from Louisville, USA says (19/Feb/2003): |
I love this game. I have just finished playing it, and unlocked everything in normal mode. Now im ready for hard mode and i cant wait. This is the first game I have played in a long time that i actually died a few times. Thats rare. Especially the last few bosses. Ridley was kinda ez once u got the pattern. BUT Metrioid Prime is the greatest boss ever made in a long long time. I mean, I died 5 times playin this thing before i got it down and killed the blasted thing. It was challenging. And all of the new guns and abilities rock. Retro and Nintendo should make all games like this one. This is one of those games that, even if you are bored, you can just run around and shoot stuff. It has a tremendous amount of replayability. I LOVE THIS GAME. Great Job Nintendo.

METROID PRIME HAS NO EQUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| A gamer from Texas,USA says (8/Mar/2003): |
the absolute best game I have ever seen i thought the game would stink but I was so wrong the graphics are so sharp and in depth the only thing i was concerned with was the fire sterio brings you up close and personal from the peaceful wonderful world of the tallon overworld to the ruined space pirate reasearch satilite to the dangerous world of the phazon mines and best of all you decide were to go there is no mission objectives or any orders from headquarters or any magical all knowing narrorator that will be decending from the sky to explain every little plot-line deatail in a lengthy cut scene easy to follow controls and everything you would expect from a game this good folks if you want to have a good all explore and conqour game look no furthur the metoid prime

Ooooooooh Boy!!! |
| Greyhald from Albury, NSW, Australia says (19/Apr/2003): |
Well, having played and beaten every other Metroid game, I was horrified at the movement away from the old platformer, but hey... what can you expect? Then... Ooh no.... a 3D Shooter??? Played sooooo many I'm pretty sick of them....
Bought it anyway just cause it had the word "Metroid" on the cover...
Well, Holy Good Gravy boys and girls! This is the stuff! Everything is here! The Suits, The weapons, the morphing ball, the grapple beam, the enemies, the look, the feel.... It's a Metroid game through and through. AND theres a heap of new goodies too!
Even if you're not a metroid fan, even if you're sick of 3d shooters, Even if you're 83 and your idea of a video game is "one of them new fangled space invaders machines"... Get it! You won't be disappointed!

Samus returns with a style only she pocesses |
| Sean McCabe from Dundee, Scotland says (5/Apr/2003): |
I've been waiting for this game for so long, I couldn't believe I was actually playing it the first time. There's something about this game, and the look and music is a part of it. It's atmosphere is incredible, you feel as if you are truly Samus Aran. The first time I saw Ridley, I knew that later on, I'd settle him again, but of course you have quite a long way to go before you get your chance. Everything has translated so well to 3D, the morph ball, the manic blasting, the mammoth boss battles, this is precisely what I want to play on my Cube. And the control system works very well, I can't believe anybody would complain about it. This is the best Gamecube so far and one of the greatest ever, and with the Gamecube now outselling PS2 and Xbox, Life is good.
