This game owns completely... At first I thought, "Hey, why the hell is Metroid a FPS(First Person Shooter)?? That's terrible... It's gonna suck!" Then I realized that if I didn't give it a chance, I wouldn't be a real fan, but that's besides the point. The bottom line is... THIS GAME ROCKS! The controls are easy, the storyline kicks ass, and all those neat items you can find... They preserved the story well, placed it in a good time, and used an unknown concept. Mutating creatures, several Bosses, the visors, grappling... Every little detail about this game is great. After 8 years, another Metroid game came forth, and it was by far the best one yet!

I think that this is the best game on the face of this freakin' planet. The only thing that I would like changed is the controlling. I thought that the controlls could have been made to be more user freindly. I mean when I was scanning something, a monster attacked me and I did not have enough time to realize that I have to get out of scan visor mode to shoot. I was dead by then. Still, I have to say even with these strange controls, THIS GAME KICKED ASS!! (Alien ass that is)

Metroid should never had been made into a first person shooter it reminds me to much about james bond or crap like that but... the graphics kick a**. the one thing that sucks is that it is so g-d damnit hard.This game also has some of the hotest gadgets and weapons on a game ever, such as the old school downtown s*** like the morph ball, spider ball, double jump, grapple beam, and so on they're all there! And same with the weapons, orignal energy beam, charge beam, missle, and ice gun, but you also get a wave beam, charge missle, and the pasma beam. The visors are a very nice touch to an already perfect game, the combat visor(default visor), the scan visor, the x ray visor, and the thermal visor thing. overall i think it is a nice game and u should get it if you r not a pussy!!!!!

I really like it. it is hard and probably the best game out. If you are looking for a challenging game and one with alot of fun, this is the game. It has awesome graphics and great creatures!!!

Sadly, those stupid critics who are very jealous of Metroid Prime are giving terrible reviews of this killer game. This game is obviously the best game that was ever made. Metroid Prime has the best graphics, sound, and gameplay that you could experience in a video game. Metroid Prime is also incredibly fun to play. Not only that, your energy will be sucked into the game just like what the metroids do to bounty hunter, Samus Aran. I promise you that you will lose hundreds of hours of sleep over this game. Since I first had Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo in 1994, I was overwelmed with how good this game was. So good that I was hoping for a sequel. Unfortunately, there was not a metroid game for the N64. Then I found out that there was going to be a metroid game coming out for the Nintendo Gamecube. It was going to be called Metroid Prime. Overall, I had to wait eight years for this game. As soon as Metroid Prime came out, it full-filled all of my expectations that simply blew me away. It was definately the best game that I have ever played in my life. Not only that, but it has also gone platinum with perfect scores. It was about time that a game surpassed that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Crap.

As a long standing Metroid fan, I was a little unsure of this title when I first heard about it. Metroid...1st person?! I thought to myself, "it's gonna suck". Nothing could be futher from the truth. Graphics - Downright beautiful, and I simply LOVE all the little extra effects they added, basicly just for fun! If you see a flash close up, you see Samus's eyes in the reflection of her visor, and if you are circle staffing something, Samus's are looking at it, or they will move if you move. If you fire your blaster really fast, then stop...you see heat coming off the cannon (no, it can't overheat :)). When coming out of the water, you see water ripples run down the front of your mask...and TONS more, just little attentions to detail are amazing, and very very cool. The environments are also beautiful. There is so much, its hard to go into it all :) Controls - Not as bad as some might say. My only gripe is sometimes it can be hard to "lock-on" to what you want if you have a lot of enemies around you. But jumping isn't as nasty hit-or-miss as in a lot of FPS games, its just more accurate, I think its because the distance was designed perfectly for a full jump (before you need to double jump), so you always land on target. I have rarely missed my jumping target, unless I was panicing cause something was attacking me :) Switching visors and weapons is a breeze too, although sometimes, your visor won't select correctly, but that doesn't usually hurt you that much :) Fun Factor - If you liked Super Metroid, Metroid II, and Metroid...and you like Metroid Fusion, you will love this too :) It's able to be its own thing, and still have an "old school" feel to it...it simply just FEELS like Metroid. From the morph ball, to the ice beam, everything is brought back. The only new item in Samus's selection is the Spider-Ball, which is cool. The only thing thats really different, is she doesn't spin when jumping anymore...and hence, no jumping spin attack :( Otherwise, a solid game, 10 out of 10, game of the YEAR!

This game is Neat. I first loved Metroid after playing the one for NES and SNES. I was amazed how it turned out. I thought it would suck because it was 3D, but they couldnt have made it any better. The game, even being 3D, kept the meaning of Metroid true. The graphics are awesome and the music is what you'd expect from any Metroid game. They even remixed some of my favorite Metroid songs from the SNES and NES version!:P

When I first saw that Metroid Prime was going to be a first person game, I was one of the few that I knew that was exited. The graphics on this game are absolutely amazing! I was blown away by all of the attention that they payed to the little things that make graphics, "graphics". The sound is what really got my attention. I ordered my game from Nitendo Power, so we used my friend's. I woke up thinking that he was watching a DVD. It was amazing! The controls are not as bad as everyone says they are. I love them! This is the game that never gets boring. I always play it, whenever I get a chance. I really hope that they make another one for gamecube!

I am rather a newbie at the whole Metroid thing I diddn't even know their was such a thing until a year ago I played super Metroid at a freind's house G-D -AMN that game rocked I bought Metroid Fusion for my adv and played it day an night. Then I caught wind of Prime and INSTANTLY bought it for my GCN IT ROCKED there is NO OTHER game like it for the GCN or anythhing else for that matter I thought super, III, and Fusion were awsome they are NOTHING compared to the 3D gameplay graphics controlls and the entire game. Its another instant classic!

This game is so awesome!!! The graphics are the best I have seen on Gamecube. Metroid Prime was the best on NES; but it is now the best on Gamecube! I love the controls. They are so easy for me to use. I really like this game because of the fast pace non-stop action that keeps you exicted every time you play it. I like it because of the controls, graphics, and the gameplay of it!!! I think that this is Gamecube's best game ever made so far. I have heard some bad things about it, but I totally disagree with what they say about this awesome game. This game rocks! I really hope that Gamecube makes another Metroid game for this system! I really liked this game even when I first got it. Every day I was at school I wanted to go home and play it so much! I think that this game will never get boring. It is always fun to play especially on your first time playing it or on hard mode it is also very fun!!! I have got to get the next Metroid game that comes out! If another one even comes out? I was so surprised when I first heard about this game coming out for Gamecube! I just had to get it!

This game is almost everything I expected. Except for a few flaws. Much like the easy boss fights! What happened to the awesome challenges in the NES/SNES games! Plus, the controls sometimes suck like crap. Any Metroid fans reading this should'nt be mad. If you think it's the greatest game ever made, then you're probably right. But for me, it's only second to Super Metroid.

The first time i played metroid prime it blew me away. The graphics, the controls, the weaponary. Metroid Prime is a game which will never get old or boring and the people from nintendo better make another game. I also like the bad guy. The way the look, act it's amazing. I can't believe this game was made for the N64. I mean come on. A game of this manitude had better have another one coming.

Metroid Prime is the best game I have ever played. It's one of the only FPS I've ever played that i really enjoyed. It encorperated jumping very well. And the Morph Ball and the Grappling Hook are really fun and differnt. Mabey a litle bit less fun then Super Metroid, but defintetly worth buying at full retail. A VERY fun game

First of all Super Metroid and Metrid Prime cannot be compared. They are totally different. I mean side scrolling to a 3D world. Metroid Prime is an incredible game. I feel those classic Metroid memories of scavenging all over a planet for different upgrades and enhancements. The graphics are incredible. Music is great. I admit, I could have love another side scroller, but when I started to play this new Metroid. The depth it had made it all worth while. This game owns. E-mail me if you want to talk Metroid.

I have to say that Nintendo has taken the cake with its first so-called 1st person adventure. It has both the strong points of Zelda and Goldeneye and like them maintains average graphics. This game is a must for any 1st person shooter or adventure fan and a serious considerment for everyone else. Although Metroid Prime, like any game probably should be rented first to see if the style of game fits your gaming. Some people complained that the control took getting used to. It took me close to 5 minutes but the control scheme is so effective it’s not even funny (well actually it is). The biggest fault in my opinion is having to scan the living heck out of everything. Though I guess I can't be completely judgemental because I'm only 17% done.I don't know how long the game is because I got it yesterday and played 2H and I'm already 17%.

Sweet Graphics. At 1st, i hated the FPS genre because you couldnt see where u were going all that well until MP. I love the HUD displays and the "bug goo". But i still hate the fact that FPS have a limited vision area. There's a little something for the players that like the #rd person POV. When Samus rolls into the morph ball, there is a 3rd person perspective. I also enjoyed the fact that in the beginning after the 1st level, Samus was stripped of all of her abilities. But then, you have to find them all again! THIS IS THE SWEETEST METROID GAME EVER. It's up there with Super Metroid and the new Metroid Fusion for the GBA!!

Like so many others I didnt think Metroid would Be quit right in the first person format, But boy was I wrong. This Game Is amazing! I too am a huge metroid fan. I remember back in the day playing the first Metroid game on NES, when it first came out. It was the best game around, I mean for a little 8bit system this game was huge.The gameplay the sounds the hidden passage ways, and Metroid Prime brings all that to the table plus so much more. I have to say this game ranks right beside zelda 64 and the ocarina of time. It just doesnt get any better.

well, i when i was young i never did like the metroid games up until a year ago! thats when i went trough my old stuff and fround the super nintendo and played some old games! i found super metroid and nearly burned until i said to myself "i was young, i didnt know how to play, ill try it again!" so i started playing and loved it! then i went on to beat it and fusion and now iam working on prime! the best fuc*in metroid game ever! graphics, sound, environments, enemies and everything else in the game is a wonder! god love nintendo for taking the lovly Samus out of retirement!

This game is simply amazing. It really lets the gamecube shine, putting its graphic processors to the test. The detail that was added to the environments and samus is just amazing. Nothing was overlooked. When the rain falls on the visor and the gun, when steam fogs up the visor, when you use the x ray visor you can see Samus's hands, and countless other things. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that there is no strafing. The HUD layout is cool, but the C-Stick is used for gun selection rather than strafing. The controls are confusing at first, but then again, this is a new system, everyone is getting used to the controls. But overall, the game was great, and a lot of fun. You'll get used to manuevering quite quickly and you'll soon start to think like Samus. The game is also pretty long, though it only took me 20 hours to beat the first time. The graphics are nothing short of amazing, and the frame rate never drops, even for a split second.
Fun - 10/10
