First-Person Metroid???? |
| Ramon from Whittier, USA says (28/Dec/2002): |
Oh yeah, Metroid is usually third-person shooter, which is good, but as time goes by, so must the game types, (like Starfox). Even though many people think Metroid Prime may not be as good as other metroids, here's some advice, IT IS!!, the graphics are amazing, I never expected it to be this good. The replay value is moderatly high also.I really like the details of the game, like when you walk into steam or water the visor gets fogged up or wet.I'm amazed by the game, and I think many others will be amazed too.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY |
| A gamer from Seattle,Wa says (28/Dec/2002): |
Metroid Prime is a bad game... you have limited views of playing...and the fact that you have no powers suck and the fact that they make the bosses to hard especially for beginner game players such as when you go get the morph ball by the time you kill all the beetles you have very little life left to kill the main boss they made too much of a struggle to get to the main bosses by fighting against a ridiculous amount of mini bosses

Metroid Prime is simply GOD DAMN AMAZING |
| Kiley Lamberton from West Valley City, UT, USA says (29/Dec/2002): |
When I first heard about this game coming out I was a little dissapointed in it being a first person shooter. After I bought it, I just couldn't put the controller down. The graphics in this game are so detailed. I'm glad this game did as well as it did and I hope that another game like it will come out in the future.

I loved this game! |
| Nick from Redding California says (29/Dec/2002): |
Metroid Prime was the greatest game ever. When I first played it I could have thought I was in the game. The way you are looking out of the visor instead of looking at the person you fell concluded into the gameplay. My best friend first rented the game. we played it. We loved everything about it. He rented it more and more. Then he bought it. I completely understoud the controls. They were easy to use some people think that for beginersit was hard to get anything or use the controls. well to all who think that if wasn't. I completely got it. I urge as many people as I can to buy this game.It was the only reason i bought a ame cube. But i have one question? what the heck is a chozo?

Top Shooter Game and Great Graphics |
| Frost from London, Kentucky says (29/Dec/2002): |
This game is one of the top shooter games to me... Depending on what kinda person you are is how much you like it. You May think the graphics are great, the bosses are to hard, and it isnt a game for beginners... but even though. Its how much you like it. The controls on it are rather simple to get. The hidden secrets are rather bit hard to find if you cant see them. To get a good handle to it. Try to blow up must of the crack and crannies, remember to scan everything, and always move around. Im really not a shooter gamer, but metroid is just a classic you must have. Just keep playing... first time I beat it under 20 hours... second as the fusion suit on Hard round 20 hours. Serious RPG players shouldnt get it... Ive hang around serious once all the time and they dish it. But to be a game for the gamecube i give it a 10 for it is a great game for the gamecube and that the play and graphics on it are great. Story on it is amazing and how challenging it is to get 100%.

this game ROCKS!! |
| A gamer from Middlesex (VT) usa says (31/Dec/2002): |
The first time I ever played as Samus Aran was when my sister bought super smash bros, but I was immediately hooked. So when I heard METROID PRIME was coming out on nintendo gamecube, i HAD to have it. when i first turned it on the graphics hit me lik a hammer. It was almost movie clarity, And when i reached Tallon iiv, I looked up and watched the rain spatter on Samus's visor. the gameplay isn't that bad, but the morph-ball boss is a bit hard to beat. I've played other first person shooters like Goldeneye for N64, but NONE compare to this. This is the best god #< remove me > at %$#&, kick < remove me > at $$ game i have ever played

it's all good |
| Billy-Bo-Hammens from Here/Somewere/USA says (31/Dec/2002): |
Everything on this game is great exept wen you need to read things and hafta hold down the L hey after a while that hurts the finger a bit but all else is great and some enemies have a little too much strength like the regular metroids that try to eat you ang the defence turrets are a bit over powerful but thats only the bad stuff the best stuff is realism 'cept you dont get hurt by falling and of course the gear and weapons and creatures all yould need is a gun for GC and it would be almost entirely real.

This Game Rocks! |
| Lenny J. from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Earth says (1/Jan/2003): |
The Graphics in this game are awsome! Nintendo didn't use any of those cheap one sided, thousandth of a millimeter thick graphics that you have to put an invisible barrier inside to keep you from falling out of the game. I played MX Superfly and although the gameplay was great, I had more fun finding holes in their cheap graphics and escaping from the levels! None of that escaping crap in Metroid Prime! I find the wave beam extremely amazing! It looks so cool when everything around it warps and shakes! This has to be the greatest game on the Nintendo Gamecube besides Animal Crossing!

Prime is Platinum |
| Greg XP from El Cajon, California, USA says (2/Jan/2003): |
There is no real way to say how amazing this game is. The beutiful, straightforward gameplay gets sucked into your mind like your most hated song. The rich environments get you thinking Tallon IV could be a real world. The graphics will stun you as you return to some of the places you've been before and will still astonish you. Control for a game such as this could not ever get any better. The use of the controller is perfect in every way and every button counts while you're slaying the Omega Pirate or any other boss. The sound takes capture of your ears making you realize this IS no ordinary game...this...this small disc...is Metroid Prime. You will never forget such a game. Nintendo returns with a stunning classic. An unkown object is found at your nearest game provider. Press "Z" and check your map to find it; Metroid Prime.

this game rules all! |
| Reytab yaman from Peoria, Illinois, USA says (3/Jan/2003): |
this has awesome graphics, cool creatures, and the best thing about it, the charge beam! And, if you plug your gba into it, you can play the original Metroid game!

All you people who like sony you just got shot down |
| Trex from usa says (4/Jan/2003): |
Two main words MY GOsh that's what you think when you first start the game incredible story line. i used to hate metroid and then prime came . this is THE longest game in history and hardest but not in a bad way in a fun way. i usually beat a game in 1 week but this might be a year sitter. excellent graphics incredible sound i mean who could say this game is bad . the people at nintendo have out done themselves. they have been bragging and they were above average with this game. this game is nowhere to "kiddy" i haven't even got half way through it and i've had it for a month this game is the best game ever

One of the BEST games i've ever played |
| AJ Zeni from New York, USA says (5/Jan/2003): |
Metroid Prime is a great game. I love the phazon gun it kicks! you don't know what u missed if u havn't tried it yet u dont no what your missing. I also liked how the rain drops splattered on your visor and how the water drips down your screen when u come out of the water. Even though i have beaten Metroid Prime (the boss) i am still looking for some more energy tanks and missle expansions. i'm also still looking for the ice beam combo. Like i said before its the greatest game ever.

Greatest Game in Ages |
| Lysara Morrigan, gamer to the Core!!! from Fantasy Island, Podunk Idaho says (6/Jan/2003): |
Metroid Prime is a game worth buying. I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember, and for as long as I can remember games got less and less good as time went on. For the first time in a long time I lost track of time playing this game. I must admit I was skeptical at first, but I love the first person style. It has muchos grandes gusto. While it may not be the choice of all people, for most gamers I beleive this will be a super smash hit. And hey, if you don't like the first person style there is always Fusion.

Finally... |
| J. from Brighton, MI says (7/Jan/2003): |
Simply one of the best games I have ever played. I have been waiting for this game for YEARS. I just beat it and started playing again immediately. Playing a game like this makes me wonder even more than usual why there are so many crap games. Take the time to make it worth playing. I'll be content playing this til another great one comes out.

The best game |
| BOWSER28 from Goodells, Michigan, USA says (8/Jan/2003): |
I just got this game at about 11 at night last night and I am amazed at the awesome graphics. At first I thought it would be stupid in first person but it rocks! Its the only game thats gonna take me longer than a couple days to beat!

UNBELIEVABLE!!! |
| Marksman{21} from Lake Worth, FL says (8/Jan/2003): |
As the title says, this game has only one word in description....Unbelievable!! You see this game and wonder why Nintendo hasnt made any other games of such quality as often. I dont mind the long wait, the payoff is what matters. The Graphics: almost too real. The playability: So easy to master. The sound: with suround sound, it really can freak ya out. The plot: Very addictive. And difficulty: great for begginers and Pros alike!! This game is a "must have."

WHY THIS GAME IS AN INSTANT CLASSIC |
| Samus' Husband from Chino Hills, CA says (10/Jan/2003): |
Metroid Prime... no words can express or do justice to the PERFECTION that is METROID PRIME. I am a huge fan of the Metroid series, and I was ONE OF THE DISBELIEVERS that thought this game would totally suck. Retro Studios and Nintendo made me eat my words. The graphics are simply AWE-INSPIRING. The level of detail will go un-noticed to people who just play and take a glance... but if you take a closer look... every brick in the ruins is UNIQUE, there are cracks in the walls and little imperfections in the stone... as if the ruins REALLY weathered over time. FIRE FLIES glow REAL LIGHTING... and when you shoot one... the light they radiated is gone... and the area of the room it was in GETS DIMMER and DARKER! Explosions that are bright enough will cause Samus's BEAUTIFUL FACE to REFLECT off the visor and SHOW ON YOUR TV SCREEN. If your turning your point of view when the explosion hits you will see her EYES LOOKING in that direction... AND SHE EVEN BLINKS AT THE REALLY BRIGHT ONES. That's just a taste of the detail, you'll have to play to find other dope stuff (the list goes on and on). What about sound? Hook it up to your surround sound speakers and the game becomes MENACINGLY REAL. Get into a fire fight with more than one enemy... and as one of your enemies circles around you to flank, your back speakers will emanate with his weapons and jetpacks while dimming out in the front (the DOPPLER EFFECT you hear in REAL LIFE... it's IN THE GAME!!) The game RECOGNIZES which sounds are coming from WHAT DIRECTION!! Did an enemy behind you shoot and miss?? You'll hear his laser from behind you WHIZZ PAST YOUR HEAD and HIT YOUR TELEVISION SCREEN!! Is that a laser coming for you? Dodge it and it will hit your back wall. The music is beautiful and mood setting. The soundtrack SEEMINGLY SWITCHES TRACKS WITHOUT YOU NOTICING THE TRANSITION. Creatures make different sounds and the Pirates EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN LANGUAGE!! As with the detail, the positive qualities of the sound in this game are neverending. The controls ARE VERY USER FRIENDLY. DO NOT BELIEVE anybody who says they are hard. Whoever said they didn't like it because you can't strafe is WRONG (they didn't read the manual). To strafe (to whom this may concern) simply hold "L" and tap jump. Jumping is incredibly easy unlike TUROK you're NOT GUESSING where your footing is. The gameplay is GENIUS. Scanning is not just a meaningless chore, but is intgrated in the game, giving EXPLORING a whole new meaning. You scan the walls around you for weak points, gather information about enemies and creatures and even indigenous life forms (the game SAVES the downloads that you can pull up ANYTIME), and scanning offers clues as to who the lost civilization belonged to, your past, and what's in store... -- but that's not all. Turn off your "SCANNING" visor and put your "THERMAL" one on and look for enemy weak points, heat signatures in the dark, hidden electricity currents... want Superman's X-ray vision? -- Put on the "X-ray Visor!!" What about weapons? Samus arsenal has different beam upgrades, and even MISSILE COMBINATIONS. Not to mention bombs and super bombs. But get this... adding to the gameplay and originality, you need certain weapons to open doors and EVEN BREAK DIFFERENT TYPES OF STONE AND METAL (there are A LOT of types) which gives you accesss to more hidden rooms and secrets. This is DEFINITELY A METROID GAME. The only diffence... instead of playing Samus and watching her... your ARE HER.
