Sweeter than KitKats! |
| Clive Winslet from Filgaia says (25/Dec/2002): |
Sweet Graphics. At 1st, i hated the FPS genre because you couldnt see where u were going all that well until MP. I love the HUD displays and the "bug goo". But i still hate the fact that FPS have a limited vision area. There's a little something for the players that like the #rd person POV. When Samus rolls into the morph ball, there is a 3rd person perspective. I also enjoyed the fact that in the beginning after the 1st level, Samus was stripped of all of her abilities. But then, you have to find them all again! THIS IS THE SWEETEST METROID GAME EVER. It's up there with Super Metroid and the new Metroid Fusion for the GBA!!

Weeeeee |
| Souljah from New York says (24/Dec/2002): |
This game is Sweet! Too bad I get dizzy way to fast! :( Oh well, I still adore the graphics, the role playing, the shineyness of my suit, the effect after you get out of water on samus's visor. ITS GREAT!!

Incredible Game |
| A gamer from Ft. Lauderdale says (24/Dec/2002): |
First of all Super Metroid and Metrid Prime cannot be compared. They are totally different. I mean side scrolling to a 3D world. Metroid Prime is an incredible game. I feel those classic Metroid memories of scavenging all over a planet for different upgrades and enhancements. The graphics are incredible. Music is great. I admit, I could have love another side scroller, but when I started to play this new Metroid. The depth it had made it all worth while. This game owns. E-mail me if you want to talk Metroid.

the best game to date is named metroid prime |
| Carlos the rock from Dominican Republic says (23/Dec/2002): |
Metroid Prime, is simply, the best game ever seen, the graphics are awsome, you really feel like you are in samus's suit, everithing you can see from the samus's mask is perfectly detailed, you can see the samus's face reflected on her mask, when an explosion ocurred in front you, the beautifully detailed graphics makes you feel if you are there, the sound is very good, the music makes you remember all the metroid series, and the gameplay is beautifull, it is not a first person shooter, the exploration also plays a role in the game.

Worth the wait. |
| A gamer from London, Ontario, Canada says (23/Dec/2002): |
Trying to be a Sega and Nintendo fan at the same time is hard, so I never really knew much about Samus and her adventures until I played Super Smash Bros, also a great game. I thought I could wait till christmas to get this game, but soon learned that this was probably the greatest game for the Gamecube yet. Needless to say, I didn't make it to Christmas.
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 10/10
Controls: 9/10 (takes a little time, but soon becomes easy)
Replay Value: 10/10
Fun Factor: 11/10 (Only a diehard Gamecube hater would have the
guts to give this game a bad rating, and I
don't mean that in a good way)

Excellent, A Must Buy. |
| A gamer from Atlanta, USA says (20/Dec/2002): |
What a spectacular game. There should be more games like this. The first of its kind, Metroid Prime is a first-person adventure. Yes, I know what you're thinking. Aren't Halo and all those considered adventures. NO! Halo is a SHOOTER, in other words, a thousand enemies coming at you while you have 50 guns to choose from. That's why Metroid Prime doesn't have a typical FPS control scheme. I hate when people compare this to Halo. They're not the same. And both games are great. Metroid Prime is a MUST-BUY!!!

Too easy and a bit boring |
| Richard R. from Everett, WA USA says (19/Dec/2002): |
I bought this game and beat it in 30 hours first try. Not bad. Most RPG's I ever played lasted that long, but even though this is not a RPG, I still think it was good for the first time. But after replaying it to find all the items, I only found that trying to find all the missles challenging (found 210 so far). The graphics are kinda disapointing. I've seen better on the game cube. In fact, the graphics are a bit different than what is shown on the commercial. So I give the graphics a 8 star rating. The music wasn't that great either but it was't bad. So it's another 8 stars there. The game play is great if you like first person shooters. To rate the challenge of this game, I rate it a 7. Come on, Super Metroid's Ridley was much more difficult to defeat. I'll admit that I liked meta-ridly better only because he looks so kewl. The AI in the game is good but needs improvement. You can go up to the next room, stand still, and watch a space pirate walk up to you then turn around like you weren't there. This game gets boring after 3 times of playing it in a row. I found Mario Sunshine more enjoyable and more fun than this game. So the fun rating, I give it a 6. Overall I give this game a 7.

This game is AWSOME!!! |
| Kevin from Tracy,CA,USA says (19/Dec/2002): |
I got this game just last week. ITs soo cool.the grphics are great, the controls are also great. This is my first time ever really playing a metroid game, but it rocks! I use to think metroid was gay and stuff like that, just becasue i never played it and i was a mario fan(i still am) but this game gave me a whole new look at metroid. i want to play the whole serious. the reason i bought this game is because it looked tight and people said it was good. i bought it thinking ,man what this game sucks. but no!!!!!!!!! its so cool. i probaly never going to get bored of it. metroid is one of the best game seroius EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game doesn't live up to the hype. |
| Jonathan from California says (18/Dec/2002): |
I'm sorry, but I just don't dig this game the exact same way I dug Super Metroid. This game is great, but the only downside is that it is a First Person Shooter. That is the dealbreaker right there. Other than that, it is a solid game. Now I must go and get back to playing Metroid Fusion, so I can unlock the second best Metroid ever made, the NES version of Metroid, behind only Super Metroid for Super Nintendo.
Regards, Jonathan Martinez

I'm glad it's out, but was alittle dissapointed |
| Dave from Illinois, USA says (18/Dec/2002): |
Ok, first my favorit games ever are Metal Gear: Solid, Silent Hill 1, Eternal Darkness, and of corse Super Metroid. Now why didn't I like this game as much? Well first the story seems very similer to Super Metroid. You start on a space station, Ridly messes it up and you must evaquate before it explodes. You then land on a planet in the same way you did on Super Metroid. Now I've never played Metroid or Metroid 2 so I don't know if all of the games start out like this but for god sakes atleast come up with a new story. And there aren't realy any new weapons. Sure the ability to combine missles with the blaster, but still there are no new blasters, and the combo's aren't realy that usefull. The only one I've been useing so far is the super missle and thats just on bosses. Also the new spider ball sux compaired to the old one. In this one you can only go up certin places on the walls witch totaly takes the fun out of finding where you need to go with it beacuse the paths are laied out for you. I think my favorit upgrades are the dubble jump and the grapling hook because these are creative and were never in a FPS before. And one other thing, I miss the super fast running upgrade. It made you invincable and made getting from one part of the game to the other less tedious. I know you get it as the ball but its use is totaly different. Other then that its a good game and worth playing.

the best game ever |
| vegeta 7 from san jose says (18/Dec/2002): |

A Spectacular game |
| Gaurdian Kaos from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada says (18/Dec/2002): |
Metroid Prime is the best game I have ever played. It's one of the only FPS I've ever played that i really enjoyed. It encorperated jumping very well. And the Morph Ball and the Grappling Hook are really fun and differnt. Mabey a litle bit less fun then Super Metroid, but defintetly worth buying at full retail. A VERY fun game

Amazing exploration based shooter game |
| Jace from New York, USA says (15/Dec/2002): |
Ok I gave this game a nine because it sucks hard when you finally get used to all your abilites to have them all taken away for quite a while. In the pirate ship escape you lose all but you basic abilities, visor, powershoot, non charged beam, and it takes you forever to regain them on theoverworld. Other than that amazing grphics and gameplay great game.
|
Not bad. But not the best, either. |
| kurt Vannigar from Wisconsin, USA says (15/Dec/2002): |
This game is almost everything I expected. Except for a few flaws. Much like the easy boss fights! What happened to the awesome challenges in the NES/SNES games! Plus, the controls sometimes suck like crap. Any Metroid fans reading this should'nt be mad. If you think it's the greatest game ever made, then you're probably right. But for me, it's only second to Super Metroid.

Metroid Prime: The best game ever!!! |
| Jordan from Cleardale, Alberta says (15/Dec/2002): |
The first time i played metroid prime it blew me away. The graphics, the controls, the weaponary. Metroid Prime is a game which will never get old or boring and the people from nintendo better make another game. I also like the bad guy. The way the look, act it's amazing. I can't believe this game was made for the N64. I mean come on. A game of this manitude had better have another one coming.

The Most Exicting Game Ever!! |
| Andrew from Riverside, California, USA says (14/Dec/2002): |
This game is so awesome!!! The graphics are the best I have seen on Gamecube. Metroid Prime was the best on NES; but it is now the best on Gamecube! I love the controls. They are so easy for me to use. I really like this game because of the fast pace non-stop action that keeps you exicted every time you play it. I like it because of the controls, graphics, and the gameplay of it!!! I think that this is Gamecube's best game ever made so far. I have heard some bad things about it, but I totally disagree with what they say about this awesome game. This game rocks! I really hope that Gamecube makes another Metroid game for this system! I really liked this game even when I first got it. Every day I was at school I wanted to go home and play it so much! I think that this game will never get boring. It is always fun to play especially on your first time playing it or on hard mode it is also very fun!!! I have got to get the next Metroid game that comes out! If another one even comes out? I was so surprised when I first heard about this game coming out for Gamecube! I just had to get it!

Awsome |
| XreX from Gillette WY, USA says (10/Dec/2002): |
I am rather a newbie at the whole Metroid thing I diddn't even know their was such a thing until a year ago I played super Metroid at a freind's house G-D -AMN that game rocked I bought Metroid Fusion for my adv and played it day an night. Then I caught wind of Prime and INSTANTLY bought it for my GCN IT ROCKED there is NO OTHER game like it for the GCN or anythhing else for that matter I thought super, III, and Fusion were awsome they are NOTHING compared to the 3D gameplay graphics controlls and the entire game. Its another instant classic!

best game ever |
| john from houston, USA says (10/Dec/2002): |
when i first heard that nintendo was making another metriod game i couldnt wait for it when i found out it was going to be in first person but when i fist got it i was amazed it blew away any other game i ever played but there were a few down sides i had noticed 1st the space jump was changed and that also meant no screw attack which came very helpful in super metriod.
2nd no spazer beam which i thought was pretty cool 3rd no spring ball and 4th no speed boost all of these were classic metriod upgrades. but instead of adding those they put in some hardcore new weapons as the wave buster which i found too mainly waste missles but looks cool and ice spreader and flame thrower other than beam upgrades the spider ball is a solid addition to samus's tool box and boost ball can come in handy to and graphics are way better than i expected and the plasma beam is really cool you can incinerate enemies with a few shots and all and all it is one of the best games i ever played at least thats my opinion.

What Metroid fans have been waiting for! |
| Derek Lawes from Blackfoot, Idaho, USA says (9/Dec/2002): |
When I first saw that Metroid Prime was going to be a first person game, I was one of the few that I knew that was exited. The graphics on this game are absolutely amazing! I was blown away by all of the attention that they payed to the little things that make graphics, "graphics". The sound is what really got my attention. I ordered my game from Nitendo Power, so we used my friend's. I woke up thinking that he was watching a DVD. It was amazing! The controls are not as bad as everyone says they are. I love them! This is the game that never gets boring. I always play it, whenever I get a chance. I really hope that they make another one for gamecube!
