My dad has a job reviewing games so he's basically brought home every single ps1, ps2, xbox and gamecube there is to buy. and although mortal kombat isn't one of my favourites i have to say its way up there in the list. ive played hundreds of games and the cheats to this one couldnt be easier. to unlock any of the characters simply type in mortal kombat deadly alliance cheats in your favourite search engine, look around for a bit and it will have all the krypt letters, purchase whatever character you want. i would definatly reckomend the cooking with scorpian video, its so funny. anyway, you may think this game is crap cus its only one fatality per character but trust me, you dont know how lucky you are to have these kinda graphics in this kinda game the and mk1, 2, 3 and 4 are all shi* out of ther motha $#< remove me > at !i* heads lol the graphics are so crap but this one is above average. also characters like nitara kitana sonya li mei and frost are great cus theyre strong and theyre girls!!!!!!!!! fightin games r all about guys guys guys and sub zero has got a girl who shares similar powers to him why doesnt scorpian!!!!!!! anyway some of the stuff (EG VIDEOS AND PHOTOS) u can unlock r hysterical lol!!!! c ya
| it's an awesome game but without liu kang i don't know | | nick from merlin oregon U.S.A says (2/Jan/2004): | in the previous mortal kombats, the graphics werent even nearly as good as these ones. but they did have something in them that this game doesn't. And that's liu kang. in all the other mortal kombats liu kang was my favorite fighter and i am really good with him! and when i turned this on to play i was anctious so i did not watch the video and then i went to play arcade and i did not see liu kang so i just went online and tried to see if he was one of the guys i had to unluck. i could not find anywhere that told me how to unlock him so i just gave up and then i watched the video and i saw that liu kang was not in the game and i was bumed. so then i went to training and i got better with all of the other guys. and now i have basically mastered the game with anybody and i am undefeatable. but the cool things about this game are the conquest, even that is kinda boring atleast they thoght of something new to put in them. and i also like the krypt where there is a chance of getting something good or getting something bad that males it more fun. and i also like frost's fatality alot! i think that it is freakin awesome! personnaly, even without liu kang and all i still thing that this is the best mortal kombat yet!
| This game needs some stuff...... | | Chris from U.S.A georgia,Lawrenceville says (4/Jun/2004): | I'ts kind of weird that the regular games include raiden,reptile,jax,kitana,and cyrax but in M.K.D.A you need to buy those characters,test you might and test your sight are nice mini-games but I have trouble beating diamond.I've beaten all test your sight levels.Another question is why is konquest so easy?And why is there so many of them?You get mokap and blaze after beating all of konquest,on character select highlight raiden and hold down on pad and press the A button,do the same on cyrax to get mokap.Why when you fatality cyrax you see body parts and bones fly out?The game definently needs,liu kang,shinnok,both smokes,sektor,nightwolf,kabal,rain and needs the rest of the old people.If the movies are based on the games then why isn't johny cage dead?Mortal Kombat deception(next mortal kombat game)needs people falling in spikes or acid,animality,friendship,brutality and needs 2 fatalities per character.This game does kick a$$ in graphix and the fighting styles are a hit.Best part is that all of the combos are f< remove me > at $#< remove me > at ** awesome!!!!!Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance has made excellent games every couple of years this year they have done a good job!Just try not to forget some of the the many tips that I gave you.

Even thought the graphics have improved and all but what about the old stuff, the old characters fatalies. Where did those things went to which were the best part of the game. I mean wat common only one fatality per person and where are the old characters. In addition to that the combos are pretty nice but still many characters are missing and what used to attract me the most were the fatalities and now with every player having only one fatality makes this game kinda boring. Where did the fatalies went to all the babalities, the anilamities(which were awsome, the brutalities,etc.This is the worst thing midway has created yet and hope it can come up with something better then this. In the future if midway is planning on making another mortal combat they better come up with more fatalities and fatalities stages just like the old times. If not i will just stop playing them cuz this type of mortal combat is Crap period. If any one is planning on buying this game I suggest u dont because you wil only get dissapointed at the things u wont c that were in the old versions of mortal combat

Why didn't you guys up at MK headquarters do some more fatalaties and give Blaze and Mokap some better features and weapons? The graphics were one of the best, if not the best I've ever seen in a fighting game. I really liked the Nitara and reptile storylines for Konquest mode. Email me and I'll tell you which koffins the secret characters are in. I beat the entire game (thats all konquest missions, arcade on max and unlocked all guys) in 5 days. That may be just me, but if I could go back to when I was choosing this game I would have bought a different one. I reckon the sound was the best in the MK series so far. I need to know, are you making another MK game? I reckon you should, since all these reviews are telling you some pointers to make MK really stand out from other fighting games like tekken and street fighter. Overall I liked it all right but wouldn't exactly reccommend it. Someone reply to me plzz. I really need to know if my review helped anyone. I reckon the konquest missions can get really repetitive after the first 30-50. I think the inclusion of different coloured coins and minigames rox! It makes unlocking guys more rewarding.

When you do test your Sight with a friend on vs mode.If you got it right the butten that you choose hold it if that was right you punch him/her, I did this to my brother lots of times.

I dont agree,i think the graphics the characters and the fighting styles were all great espesially the weapons! They definetely could have added some more fatalites and level fataalites!the thing that bothers me is how much trouble it is to unlock mokap and blaze! if any one knows a easier way im me at www.debidil< remove me > at excite.com! the level graphics were also really good when compared to other fighting that i have seen lately. if they would have made different fatalites when you unlock there alternate costumes that would have made up for only having the one fatality. And why so many coffins most of it does nothing for you it is mostly just pointless junk. I really cant figure out why they didnt use the game level fatalites like in the acid bath or the lava level. Or better yet why not have level fatalites on the hidden levels that you have to unlock? And what happened to all the really cool players like rain and baraka and sektor? Why take them out they were really good and millena and kobal!?!the game itself was great they just made some bad choices but the fights are actualy pretty intence and fast paced

Its definatly worth buying.It has exelent graphics and great gameplay with a good combination with realistic fighting(if you turn off the blood and dont use wepons) and humourusly stupid and gory fatalities and amounts of blood. It has alot of nice features like peoples faces getting bruised and bloody after a certain amount of damage is taken. This is the first good Mortal Kombat game and I think there will probably be a second becoase other games like teken have now nowhere to go since there is nothing more they can really add to the game. The only flaw with deadly alliance is the endings on arcade mode whic can be dissapointing after fighting hard to beat molloch. Some of the fatalities are somwhat less ridiculess on this game than its predessesors making them slightly boring. The game will both last along time becouse of the amount of work you need to do before finishing the krypt and this does not get boring. Its also a good game to have in your collection as something to play with freinds. If you a huge fan of english litariture you may be somewhat dissapointed with the spelling of words stating with C(Kombat, Krypt).

Or another word, as Christopher Lambert (Lord Rayden) would agree, is... Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! This game with the exception of one fatality per character, is, how should I put it, a "Flawless Victory" for Ed Boon. I found absolutely no other problems with this game. Keep it up, Ed, I've got high expectations for your next game, if you can do so well on this game. So, realistic, yet at the same time, so un-naturally magical. So many good fighters, so many challenges, especially in Konquest Mode. I don't think the other reviewers have had quite such an experience as I have. No one at all could enjoy this game as much as I can. with such a difficult sub-boss, Moloch, this game can really give you something to look forward to... killing the evil thing. He takes me so long to kill it's not even funny, now that's what I call a challenge. and to think he isn't even the Final Kombat. Next to Moloch, Goro is a complete ant. Anyhow, I really enjoy the game and I would recommend that any hardcore, blood-thirsty fan, such as myself, should take the game into consideration. I give it a whopping 10 ********** stars! Ed, you won me over again!

I love reptile he is ausome but him as Lizard for is not nearly as cool as his ninja outfit, Also a lot of guys missing rain striker smoke nightwolf, Show kaghn. but the game overall id give a 9 outta 10 its a great game.Raiden, his staff is no doubt the best weapon of all the characters, it is long and the combos he gives are very tricky to block.Where are all the other types of fatalities ? brutality babality?
Theres only one fatality for each Character.MK DA and Trilogy are no doubt the BEST of all fighting games ever made. I love the Mini games every 3 rounds before you fight, Test your might, Test your sight, although i think they could add more, Appetite, kite,light bite. ( midway i really think in the next video game of mortal combat people should be able to get reptiles Old costume , like in the movie , it is so much better than the other ones ) They need to have alot more secret characters and i think more big combos and deffinetly more fatalities . I like this game because the Fighting is Real intense and is extremely gory :) i like the story thing after you have beaten the game.

But come on, 1 fatality, and not even one for the secret characters, what happened to the classical 2 or 3 fatalities with the additional anamalities, brutalities, babalities, friendships, and all the other fun extras!!! I miss the stage fatalities too, but this game has awesome graphics, beyond belief, with cool endings, and funny extras. Even though there are only 1 fatality per person, there pretty darn good, o wait except Quanchis, o god, what the F^%$ is stretching your opponents neck and leaving them to die, come on! Over all the game is really fun, challenging, and has some cool characters, weapons, and fighting styles. I would recomend you spend your money on this game so you can call your buddy and tell him to come over and kick his butt! Its also cool to work on your skills at practice, and the secret characters are not bad either, except for the fact that they have no fatalities!!! | Somewhat disappointing. | | Gary LaPlant from Aberdeen, South Dakota, USA says (21/Feb/2003): | Overall I was kinda disappointed at the fact that there wasn't a lot of attention paid to the details in the game. For example most of the fatalities are pretty simple. The only fatality that met my expectations was Raiden's. Shang Tsung's fatality was along the right lines, but I could've done without the green waves being being shot at his victims. I think they should've just stuck with having his victim glowing green kinda like when Kenshi does his telekenetic toss, and when he pounces on his victim to steal their souls it should've caused every limb to explode, including the head, and blood blood should've shot out of every part. But I could sit here and knitpick every little detail that was overlooked, and everything that could've been done to make the game a phenomenon. It seems to me that the midway team that put this together could've used some help in making it a complete success. But I've gotta say that I really enjoy the game and the graphics really kick a**. If you (Midway) are planning on making another, maybe you should give me a holler. That is if you want the game to be the best video game ever made. And that ain't no joke!!

The graphics are awesome. It is amazing the way each character sways and moves according to his/her fighting style. And there's a lot of BLOOD, streaming from the fighters and dirtying the ground! Some old favourites were summoned (Sub-Zero, SCORPION, who looks really nice... By the way, a MK is NOT a MK without them!) and others were wisely dismissed, like that boring Liu Kang (Please, NEVER RESURRECT HIM!!)and all those Sub-Zero's imitators (Ermac, Rain, Noob Saibot...). The new ones are nice, too. The arenas are great and those 'Test your might/sight' were a nice surprise to me. I can't say much more, once I bought the game less than four days ago and, for this reason, I haven't had time to explore it further. But my first impression was great. The only bad point is the fact that each character has ONLY got ONE FATALITY! Consequently, when the 'Finish Him/Her!' message is displayed, I really miss the good old MKTrilogy, that allowed me to choose how I should send Sub-Zero to Hell... In spite of it, MK Deadly Alliance is really a great fighting game!!! It deserves a 9!

I mean, the graphics were stunning and the gameplay was smooth. I really liked the way the game included authentic martial arts and the fighting style system was another brilliant idea from the guys at Midway. The soundtrack had that gory type feeling to it. I especially loved the trap on the acid pool stage. One thing that i disliked though was the save system. why didn't nintendo follow xbox's lead and put in a built in memory chip. when i first got this game, i didn't have a memory card and they won;t even let you attempt to unlock new things without one. the krypt was totally awesome though. the konquest mode was also genius. it teaches you all of the characters' moves while earning you koins to buy new characters and extras. i've forgotten the number but there's one clip with scorpion callled cooking with scorpion, it's hilarious. you've gotten see it! the music video that adema made for the game was also cool. i think this is a cool game to get if you like mortal kombat. of course, Deception is out now so i would get that one instead if i were you.
| The best fighting game to date! | | Allan from Irvington,USA says (25/Nov/2002): | As soon as I heard "Round 1, FIGHT" I was hooked.I sleep dreaming of the different fighting styles,incredible weapons, and of course the even more realistic Fatalities. There isn't a Mortal Kombat fan in the Earthrealm or Outworld who should be disappointed with this game.In the beginning the many fighting styles may be a little intense, but once you learn a couple combos here and there, you will love it. The makers of the game brougt back all the fan favorites like Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, and Sub Zero.The new characters bring there own flare to the game as well. Frost, Drahmin, and Kenshi all bring a brutal personality to match ther fighting styles. The Konquest mode gives you more to do than just beating up on the computer in arcade mode. Everyone should also get a kick out of winning in the arcade or Konquest mode and taking a trip to the Krypt and opening koffins to see what secrets awaits. With 676 koffins you will have you hands full trying to open them all. Well thats enough talking I'm going to go back and try some new fighting styles and figure out some more Fatalities for anyone who wants to challenge me. Outstanding!

The addition of weapons is really nice, but WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYBODY! I've been playing MK since it first came out in arcades. Where's all the guys from MK 1, 2, and 3. Lu Kang, Shao Khan, Striker, Noob Saibot, Rain, Kabal, Smoke, Sector, Jake, Mellena, Barraka, Night Wolf, Motaro, Syndel, Goro, the real Reptile, and Ermac are all missing. WTF! I can understand Goro and the few others I didn't mention, but why take out all the ninjas. The worst part is the fact that Lu Kang, Barraka, and Kabal were taken out. I know Lu Kang always won, but the whole deal with MK when it came out (unlike its competitors such as Teken) is that is was just blood and guts with no real plot. It was a hack and slash game. Now they try to make it some kinda RPG (which are awesome, but not appropreate for this kinda game). I'm returning this game and busting out my MK3! If you have never played MK before than by all means try it out. There's a good chance you'll like it. If You liked all of the old school guys than start dusting off your old systems cause your gonna be using them.

The konquest mode is too short I think, and there should have been 2 fatalities per character, like the older ones. Also, there are no babalities, friendships, brutalities or animalities, which i was dissapointed at. The krypt is pretty damn cool, because it makes it seem like you could never finish the game. But personally, I think the other ones were better because the main part of the game is supposed to be about gruesome, gory fatalities. The storyline was great, except the fact that Liu Kang had died. HE WAS MY CHARACTER!! He was everyones character... but meh thinks change. Great amount of characters but theres no explanation of the characters in the early games. Why is sektor, noob saibot, nightwolf, and many others not in this game? This kinda blows, man. If they make a better mortal kombat with more moves and fatalities, I'M THERE!!! But oh man the graphics are CrAzY!!! I rate 10/10 for graphics!!! Sound was great to... i think i'll be playing this game for a while but if a new one comes out, i'm getting it for sure.
| mortal kombat deadly alliance is the best game yet!!! | | monnie from australia says (16/Aug/2004): | well what can i say mortal kombat is the best i dont care which one there all the best. although i think they should show more blood and gut and body parts but thats just me.my favourite character is lei mei because she is a quick and strong player but i think they killed her off in the next one so i say damm. some helpful tips if you want to be the best at mortal kombat master all their moves and learn to block. also play with a range of different styles and different characters. if you want to know how to beat a real hard character a know one of the answers stick with one style until you beat them and then change your style thats every round change to a different style. i dont know which mortal kombat this was in but you could have 2 fatalities for each character and i think they should do that again. and when you finish konquest and have two extra players (blaze and mokap) they should have fatalities because i reckon they would turn out awesome all and all i think this game rocks and to the makers of the game dont stop making them because there hasnt been a better fighting game yet. if you have any questions just ask.
| A game worth buying! | | UnLegend from Mount Airy, NC, USA says (17/Apr/2004): | I'll be honest, I'm a long standing fan of the series but I haven't played and mastered every Mk. The first one still brings back fuzzy memories of needless bloodshed, I'm pretty sure I played the second one and maybe the third or fourth but this is the second one I've actually purchased. I consider myself a bit of a gamer, 'oldschool' is great but seriously oldschool is 'oldschool' because 'newschool' just hadn't been thougt of when 'oldschool' was still at it's peak. Deadly Alliance takes the great characters I loved (or liked rather) and just makes 'em more badass. Quite frankly the Cooking with Scorpion video was worth the money I put in it by itself. It's more challenging than the others, sure there are fewer fatalities but the animalities were a little over the top anyway, a few characters are missing and whoever thought of changing reptile needs his ass kicked but at the end of the day I'm rather pleased with it. And really, isn't that all that really matters? Seriously I'm asking if something matters more tell me so I can stop wasting my life and begin this more fulfilling regimine.
