In order to unlock characters, you've got to get kurrency and then go to the krypt. It helps to have a memory as you also need to have a profile. There are 676 koffins...each containing something. Some containing nothing. You just have to pick and choose, that's all. I'll give you this though, koffins "CN" and "KI" have characters.

It is by far the best game of the year. In fact I might even go and say century. The only people who know how to make fighting games like this are the people of Midway. I can't seem to get Frost I think she would be a very nice person to play. Being Subzero's "sidekick" and all. If anyone could help I would appreciate that very much. It is amazing that the people at Midway would take so much time into making this game, I mean it is truely the most fantastic game out there. There is no way I can say this. The game is cunning smart and very boldly life like.

This game is a fresh relief from the all to popular rpg, and heavy commitment games. I personally enjoy the fact that I can sit back kill a couple of chumps, tastfully I might add, and then quit at just about anytime without worries of finding a save point. Although there are many great games out there with this same appeal, none touch my heart like a nostalgic rerun of my teenage years at the good ole arcade! This game is a vast improvment over its counterparts and deserves alittle praise. I mean who can deny the great bouncing action that goes on with specific characters( Guys you know what im talking about :) All in all I give this game two thumbs up, keep it up Midway!

I just received Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance for Game Cube and i feel that it is the best game I've seen in quite some time. Of course, I'm only 14, and I only have 8 games for the system... so I'm sure opinions will conflict with my own. I am very glad that they cut down on the fatalities and presesnted us with a 3D arena. I accent on the first part of my last sentence only because it brings back the feeling of the original MK's and when there is a fatality, it is now worthwhile. Do you all remember when there were like 20 different fatalities/ brutalities/ animalities/ babalities/ etc. for every person. It was a hastle to try and accomplish all of them. Also, I am ecstatic that they have brought THE KRYPT to the table, as it keeps the "non-walkthrough" players of the game at work for weeks on end. 676 coffins and only 9 secret players to find will keep anyone at work. This is not just a game where you beat it and watch the ending now... but it has evolved into a story... a teaching perhaps, of the real arts of karate and the more gruesome, graphic Mortal Kombat.
In other words my cats and dawgs... this game is hotter than the grill (sizzle...) I really liked it and i hope my opinion makes some people go and buy it because its really worth your time. If you like long, hard, sexy, fun... games, then I also advise Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2, Pikmin, and a healthy serving of Star Fox Adventures, as well as Mario Sunshine. Enjoy my friends. Holler to that.

Superb! Or another word, as Christopher Lambert (Lord Rayden) would agree, is... Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! This game with the exception of one fatality per character, is, how should I put it, a "Flawless Victory" for Ed Boon. I found absolutely no other problems with this game. Keep it up, Ed, I've got high expectations for your next game, if you can do so well on this game. So, realistic, yet at the same time, so un-naturally magical. So many good fighters, so many challenges, especially in Konquest Mode. I don't think the other reviewers have had quite such an experience as I have. No one at all could enjoy this game as much as I can. with such a difficult sub-boss, Moloch, this game can really give you something to look forward to... killing the evil thing. He takes me so long to kill it's not even funny, now that's what I call a challenge. and to think he isn't even the Final Kombat. Next to Moloch, Goro is a complete ant. Anyhow, I really enjoy the game and I would recommend that any hardcore, blood-thirsty fan, such as myself, should take the game into consideration. I give it a whopping 10 ********** stars! Ed, you won me over again!

I am from Finland and i have be mortal kombat fan about 7 years. I got this game for christmas gift. The game has came lot better than the earlier ones. Characters are now really nice looking and arenas are 3D. Konquest is a really long and good part of the game. Arcade mode is same like those earliers, and i think that it could be little better. Versus mode has a same problem. Figthing styles and weapons are good thing. Now there are lots of moves, not only those special moves (fireballs and else). Fatalities are longer and better...the're "beautiful"I don't like the game music very much. Thanks,and i am sorry about my English, it's not my native language. This writing program was not good, so i couldn't fix my mistakes.

Minus the fact that what little secrets are in the game suck and theres only one fatality per character (and quan chis fatality is really really stupid) this game delivers. I actually enjoyed the fact that Liu Kang died, and hope the same fate goes to Johnny Cage, because they both deserve to perish, Cage for being stuck up and Kang for being a whiny cheap hitting annoying pansy.
The moves are great, the combos are great, the costumes are great, the arenas are hella great. Konquest mode is a blessing, and the Krypt is pretty cool for those that dont mind playing arcade over and over to scrounge up koins for it.
All in all, its a wonderful step in the right direction for MK. The sequel to this game should be astounding.

Let me start off by saying I haven't really played video games since I was a kid. Back then, my all time favorite was Mortal Kombat and I always played Sonya. Well, now my husband is the big video gamer and I always sit back and watch. When I saw an ad for MKDA, I decided to buy it for him, and now I play it more than he does! The characters are wild, and the graphics are top notch, and the game play is like watching the Matrix with it's 3D take. My favorite part about this game is that the characters have 3 different unique fighting styles of they're own. One thing I REALLY hate is Reptile's new look. He looks like a Jurassic Kermit the frog. Otherwise, this game Kicks *&^%

This is a very good game cause of the things that Joel from Florida said. Not too much unnatural firepower and lots of cool combos. The game has a good selection off different characters, and its not too easy or too hard. The fighting styles in the game are awesome and I can seriously sw different teqniques that I myself practise………..MKDA Is the best yet…

Okay MK DA was a great game no dispute, but common there needs to be a bit more to it, I was hoping to see the most goriest game ever, and still keeping it old tradition of pit fatalities, as well as scorpions toasty and sub-zero's head rip, very disappointing though I will give credit to story and game play, but common this game need to have more flipping gore. cyrax could have use self distruct, i know this is a brand new game but fan who have had every MK down the line want to see a trade mark finisher, hey why not have kano stab someone in the back and cut there throat from ear to ear? the next mortal kombat better bring all the best idea forward and use the lay out of deadly alliance with some thing old to make something great.

This game is easily the best beat em up out. Its definatly worth buying.It has exelent graphics and great gameplay with a good combination with realistic fighting(if you turn off the blood and dont use wepons) and humourusly stupid and gory fatalities and amounts of blood. It has alot of nice features like peoples faces getting bruised and bloody after a certain amount of damage is taken. This is the first good Mortal Kombat game and I think there will probably be a second becoase other games like teken have now nowhere to go since there is nothing more they can really add to the game. The only flaw with deadly alliance is the endings on arcade mode whic can be dissapointing after fighting hard to beat molloch. Some of the fatalities are somwhat less ridiculess on this game than its predessesors making them slightly boring. The game will both last along time becouse of the amount of work you need to do before finishing the krypt and this does not get boring. Its also a good game to have in your collection as something to play with freinds. If you a huge fan of english litariture you may be somewhat dissapointed with the spelling of words stating with C(Kombat, Krypt).

This was the first Mortal Kombat that I decided to purchase since Mortal Kombat 2 hit the SNES. At first, I was a little let down. Only one fatality? No level fatalities? What in the hell? The style felt strange and foreing.
I soon grew acustomed to it, and since then have even become quiet fond of it. Every character has 3 different fighting styles, with different moves and combo's. There are 3 different types of games you can play, and they even brought back the mini games like test your might (and now test your sight, you should see the blind character do this, its hilarious!)
The Krypt is the icing on the cake. Ive spend hours unlocking characters, levels, art, videos, and old mortal kombat stuff. There are over 600 things to unlock!
The graphics, levels, and storline are all great. Replay value seems high, though Ive only had the game for about 4 months now.
The only thing that this game needs is more fatalities. Thats a Mortal Kombat trademark.

I was shocked when i watch the intro when the 2 monkeys killed my 2nd favorite character which is Liu KAng.Please make somethhing that will make Liu Kang live again because im a supreme mortal kombat fan and i collect some cd's'tapes'and even the movie of mortal kombat too. im a young man that likes something cool like something thats not real.So please bring back animalities,brutalities,and babalities thats very important for me i dont care if you removed some non sense thing like friendship because mortal kombat is a game more on battle.So please bring all the things that i wrote hear, please.

This game is not bad but not great. the fighting is awesome i like the three different typer of fighting to it, but only one fatility? Come on what were the inventors thinking ...mortal combat is known for its fatility's and what happened to the friendships and anamality?, and killing my favorite guy whats with that? I think that they need to have more fatilities and something to keep me playing after i unlocked all the guys.. wheres the fatilitys for mokap?? this needs mor intrest..

This is a great game that brings back MK. I have played every MK game there ever was and this 1 was the best. Instead of it being 2d they have made it 3d making it easier to dodge attacks. I also love the krypt it lets u unlock all kinds of stuuf from chacters to movies. The graphics r the best I have ever seen 4 a MK game. The game makes most beat em game look horrible. So who cares everyperson has only 1 fatality(i dont mind it) And they finnaly got read of liu kang. He had to die sonner or later. I alos like the three fightind style. With all this stuff in the game who the hell would not want this game.(1 more thing for all u guys that liked MK trilogy it donesnt even compare to this game so if u dont like MK:DA u'll end up like liu kang)

The figures lok rather doll like and the blod is well OTT and not really making the game any better however midway has managed to use actual martial arts and a whole lot of them each one varying with the character. the interaction wityh weapons now is very interesting aswell. The levels re quite generic and there has not been alot of effort put into them. And yes the most annoying thisng other than Moloch is the fact that there are very few Fatalitys and the ones that you do have are quite tacky. And to top that off THEY KILLED LUI KANG!!!! well the main thing is the fighting which is a huge sucess in this case. you can buy characters and other special features aswell. Not bad midway but keep trying Tip: take note from tekken!!

This game was awesome. The graphics were superb, the audio and sound effects outstanding, and overall, a game that you can just keep on going. Growing up, I was always sure to get the Mortal Kombat games, but I thought nothing would be able to top MK Trilogy. Boy was I wrong. I just wish there was a way to bring back the old characters like Baraka and Noob Saibot. The story line was excellent and the Konquest part of the game will surely keep you occupied for hours. Even after you complete it all, it is one of the few games you could sit down with some friends and never get tired of tearing each other apart. The Krypt adds as an incentive to advance your skills and keep on playing. The one fatality per character is satisfactory, but I think there could have been at the very least an extra fatality per character. Overall, this is the best game I own and I'm anxious to see what's to come.

Hey I love this game and I just got it!!!It has very good graphics, 3D effects, bloody action, hitting techniques, also back round music. It is totally awesome think everybody who plays Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (MKDA) should be amazed by all its details. MKDA is the best game I ever played and my whole eternity. It is much better than the old Mortal Kombat I played! I love the characters, they are so powerful! I will conquer all their powers...I hope. Then the weapons.... don’t even get me started! They are totally cool! I want to unlock all the players and see all of their weapons. Man...I don't know what else to say...I mean.... it is really very great game! I am not kidding about this game. If you don't have one I suggest you get your body at the game store! I am sure they will have at least one (unless it is all out)! This game should be at the top of on every game list! You can even get a profile of your own! Also if you make a profile you can even get a code to protect anybody from getting in to your profile, it’s so cool:)

Ok crap is probably a bit harsh, but Midway have done a hell of a lot better than this in the past. I like the increased gore, a factor that most MK fans buy the game for, but we also liked the fun elements of the game. Babalities, animalities, the ablity to impale your foes on a pit of spikes and wash them away in a warm acid bath were all parts of the old games that made gamers run out to tell their freinds about. Finding out that your mate managed to make Sub Zero freeze and smash his oponents to peices as well as ripping out his spine were what made the game stand out from the rest. Two fatalities are better than one! Yes the graphics are good and yes it plays well but I think Midway have tried to hard to make an impression with this one and in doing so have lost all the originality and fun of the old MK. So a disapointing four from me. Save your money, dig out your old console and stick to the original while you wait for the next attempt and hopefully you wont be dissapointed next time. Bring back Lu Kang and his Dragon animality!!!
