It's a great game but it is almost too easy!!!17194

Chris from Albert lea , M.N. USA says (9/Feb/2003):
I think this game is really easy in its own way beacause you only have to open tombs to find most of the characters...although it is challenging to find Mokap and Blaze...the best characters...if anyone is wandering, you must pass konquest mode for all characters and for mokap...you go to Rayden and press down and start and for blaze you do the same except you put the cursor on Cyrax thank you for listening!

17200

satan from hell says (9/Feb/2003):
this game is really a great game. the graphics are awesome. the gameplay is also wonderful. one thing that could have and should have been better is the fatalities. ive seen a total of 3 fatalities that i really like, the rest are retarded. correct me if im wrong but isnt it the blood and guts that makes mortal kombat. i remember when the first mortal kombat came out. everyone was like "have you played the fighting game where you can rip out your opponents spine?" that is what made the game so popular, the controversy. forgive me if i didnt spell that right. anyway this game gets a thumbs up in my book. i just wish the producers would have focused more on the fatalities.

this game rules, bottem line!17144

A gamer from indiana, usa says (8/Feb/2003):
well heather from charleston, you have no clue what your talking about. this game easily has the best replay value around.
the graphics are pristine, the story line moved on with the times. alowing for a new hero. the fatalities are really good, except for a couple. the addition of multiple fighting styles including weapons rocks. this one will be on top for a long time.

its the coolest but its kind of the same thing over and over again17010

nick from usa,phoenix,AZ says (7/Feb/2003):
this is by far the best mortal combat yet but it can have its ups and downs like take the coffons for example theres what almost 700 of them and scorpion needs some new moves along with the rest of the gang and the story can get a little boring its the same thing in the other MCs but if you want a good game that will keep you up half the night then this is the best game for the gamecube have fun!!

Happy Edinboro College Student17066

James from Pittsburgh, PA says (7/Feb/2003):
Listen, this is one of the hottest games out right now. Mortal Kombat definitely came through with another hot series. I like how they put a twist to the story line; who wants to see the good guys win all the time? Though each character has only one finisher, people often forget the three fighting styles that each character comes with. I mean for real, who can remember all those combos, and then remember 3 or 4 different finishers automatically? Get a life if your disappointed because you want to sit in the house and memorize a hundred "up, down, hold x" bullsh*t. The game is hot, and the combos are even hotter. Besides, if I'm frustrated at a teacher, that gives me more reason to come home and finish someone!

dissappointed chic16948

Heather from Charleston, SC says (6/Feb/2003):
The only reason this game even got a 3 was for the blood and graphics, other than that, Midway really screwed up. Anyone who actually knows Mortal Kombat and what it is about would know that this game does not deserve a rating of more than 5, at the most. The story has been ruined, how can you kill Liu Kang? And what is up with this one fatality per character crap. I mean, c'mon. They have left out some of the best characters, some of the best fatalities, and have tried to make up for it with the fact that there is better graphics and more blood. What games out there now days don't have awesome graphics? That's just keeping up with the times. This game is nothing special, in fact, it is an insult to anyone who remains true to the original Mortal Kombat. You at Midway, wake up and get your sh*t together. Very dissappointing!!!

Best fighting game i have ever played16944

A gamer from Alberta, Canada says (5/Feb/2003):
This game is absolutely wicked. I found that the graphics and details of MKDA were very well done. I am also sort of glad as well that Lu Kaing or however you spell his name got killed off, that was so old MK, it was timd for something a little different and new. All the characters are very well portrayed and the fatalities are amazing. I love this game if you havent bought it yet, BUY IT!

This Game Is By Far The Best!!16864

DJ Franciose from Providence, RI, USA says (4/Feb/2003):
When I received this game, I wasn't too excited about it, but once I started playing it I was blown away by the graphics and the gameplay. Though I was disappointed that Liu Kang, Goro, and Shao Kahn aren't in the game, I was very impressed by the work put into this game. I have followed Mortal Kombat since the beginning and though this game didn't LOOK interesting, boy was I wrong! I hope that Midway continues the tradition that is Mortal Kombat.

MKDA comes Short of Expectations16812

Ven-Eric from Del Rio, TX says (3/Feb/2003):
Overall, MKDA sports the latest in 3-dimensional technology, but still scores low on my scale of high expectations. Midway no doubt put a lot of effort into this animal, however I think it failed to deliver the true nature of what MK fans have come to appreciate. I have played MK since its first release, and have grown ever faithful to each series that has come out. However even with all the gore and hot graphics, the game fails to deliver to its fans more fatalities, stage fatalities etc.
Additionally, the combos are complete madness. Timing is of vital importance, but after several weeks of playing, it has become more and more discouraging. Also, the krypt was a nice addition, but still more of a nightmare to unlock characters and costumes. Again, this caused more discouragement. I would like to see another release soon, to overshadow this shortcoming of an MK release.
Then there is the death of Liu Kang, whoa what is all that about. The character is a legend and resembles all of what the story line is about which brings me to my next disappoint, the story line. It really needs some fine-tuning and better endings. I just can’t ever forgive you for killing off Liu Kang. I would really like that boy resurrected or something. Word to the wise, don’t fix it if it’s not broken.
I am still faithful to the MK series, but I sure hope that a new release is put out soon to rid this bad taste in my mouth that MKDA has left.

MKDA Lacking in Originality16814

Victor from Omaha, NE says (3/Feb/2003):
MKDA lacks originality. This game is mediocre at best in my book. I can not believe they have killed Liu Kang. That was probably the worst thing I have ever seen done. Next, the combos are certainly the worse set and one serious pain to pull off. Somebody over there at Midway better get the team on the ball.
For me, having played MK since its first release in the early 90’s, has left me questioning where the next release will be taking us gamers. I have always appreciated the story line, characters, arenas, and especially the fatalities. But with one fatality, it simply blows buffalo chips. Not even one freakin stage fatality. Also, wheres smoke and especially Noob Siabot, the most feared characters to duel. Additionally, the original attributes of each character has also added to its disappoint. OK, I’ll be first to say that I’m old school. But for those out there who have come to know the true meaning of MK’s story, would understand where I’m coming from. The game has more meaning and expectations to deliver with each release. Regardless of new graphics and style fighting, the game should always be faithful to its fans when it comes to characters and originality. The only perk that I did like was the costumes. It’s nice to see a change in the look of a character. Otherwise this MKDA beast scores a 4 on the scale of disappoint, and I’m being generous at that.

ITS ALLLLL GOOD16506

Jake G from Kenosha, Wi says (28/Jan/2003):
I absolutly loved this game, I played it once at my friends house, and I had to go and buy it. The only bad thing about it is that ya there is only one fatality per person. But owell JAX looks AWESOME in this game and I love his moves, Kano is awesome too. But they did forget to put in acouple of the best characters... they forgot to put in GORO, and BARAKA! They were AWESOME! I like the interactive places, and all that stuff. The combo's get a lil tricky in Konquest but its fun to try... I like the amount of blood in this game.. its ALL OVER! I like the whole money thing... and all that stuff... The alternet costumes are great too.. I never really like Lu Kang... but it'd be tight if ya could unlock more characters like him.. But hey this game is awesome.. and I luv to play it.. PEACE

Pretty good actually16434

Greg from NY USA says (27/Jan/2003):
Yes the others were better but i do enjoy this game very much with the challenges to unlock other characters and their old school costumes. Now to answer a few questions. They didn't put in Noob Saibot because Ed boon didn't help make this game! Noob Saibot was come up with by Ed Boon and Tobias (Hence Boon= Noob and Tobias= Saibot. Noob Saibot!) Smoke I don't know, if you recall he was a robot like Cyrax but I think he's dead anyway. I like how your unlocking things now instead of jsut using codes to play hidden characters. They couldn've done more with the endings such as making them videos!!! and make one more fatality, Babalities and animalties were stupid. (Scorpion was a lion? Reptile a monkey? WTF!) Friendships would've been nice but this game was probably to gory for it. But if your a Mk fan you gotta have this game!

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance16353

A gamer from anderson,USA says (26/Jan/2003):
MortalKombat is great game with the three fighting stances or styles but the multi story fighting stages have disappeared into the unknown and has the mutiple fatalities disappeared forever the game is but it needs the finishers of FATALITIES,FREINDSHIPS, and the STAGE FATALITIES. Think of MortalKombat Thrilogy we need the return of Noobsiobot,Smoke, and all of the other Thrilogy caracters Liu Kang dies whats up wit dat he is liked by every one and his soul is Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung has Liu kangs Fire attacks come on guys more people to create the game is a great thing but stupid when you can't even make i symbolize 1-3 where did the classic subzero go come on reptile is cool or as you say it kool any way MKDA could of been upgraded oh and thanks for not having the fatality kodes too long. The Krypt has about 676 Koffins in it some have gay pictures others are empty hows that gonna make the game fun when when some Koffins are 3113 Koins and are empty that gay you can keep the kode system in that the game has no-one can get in to your konquest if i were you i would with no doubt get started one a new Kombat game before mortalkombat is forgotten about i do not think you would want that would you. In the practice mode you need to be able to practice your fatalities and the move list is another biggy when finish him/her pops up your fatality becomes avalible in the move list why not have them there from the start oh yeah on mk4 a weapon was a sledge hammer add that and make sure you have it where on of the hits smacks them in to the television screen add more mini games

Love it and Hate it...16399

A.C. from USA says (26/Jan/2003):
It's been a few years since I've gotten my MK fix and now that it's here, It's met with mixed results. Graphically speaking the game rocks, the animations are much more detailed sporting a much higher polygon count per charachter as compared to previous Mortal Kombat games. That however, is to be expected considering this new game is a first on next-gen platforms. Some of my old favorites are back including scorpion and Sub-Zero, but Lui Kang is killed off from the very beginning. Now, in itself MK Annihalation is a great game, with combos reversals, buckets and buckets of blood, and tons of codes. If you're looking for a good, solid fighter MK is what you're looking for. In fact, if you never played MK before you would have little to no complaints about this game. Ah, but then there are those of us that grew up with the series and have unrealistically high expectations of the game. We've been spoiled with multiple fatalities, dozens of charachters and more secrets than you can shake a spear at. I think in the next installment of MK they'll give us more of what we, the hardcore fans demand. By then they'll have the game's graphic engine down to a science, which translates into more moves, charachters, fatalities and (hopefull good endings) and secrets to unlock. So in all, the game falls short of it's fans expectations but if this game is new to you, you'll likely love it.

Couple Details from Perfect16126

Matt from Washington DC says (23/Jan/2003):
So they killed of Lui Kang, finally. Few small problems like the 1-Fatality Per Character and a few animation glitches on the fatality (Sub Zero's when he and skeletonless victim are up against the wall). I'd like to see the multilevel arenas like the old MKs.

But if this game doesn't have you hooked after a few tries, you need to get checked out. The fighting is more realistic than ever, without sacrificing the blood and obscenity that shocked us originally. 3 Fighting Styles kick serious ass. Much more, it's worth the sticker price.

MK 1,2, And 3 Were better Before!.......16146

A gamer says (23/Jan/2003):
  MK Was better.....
I think that It was btter before because they had good Optional Fatalities. This guys killed the game with making each character with only one fatality.I can admit that the new one has "much much" better graphics but whats the fun thing if you dont have more Fatalities in the game and "also" what happened to the cool Sub-Zero fatalities. This game is fun to play I did like some of the new stuff "one example is that you can bet money" but they shouldnt had killed the main character of the game who we all know.....

I lke the thing they did with the swords and some of the new characters, But i still give MKDA a 5 and thatas my final answer and th price was to expensive for the pice of $#< remove me > at ! this game is now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sweet mk game !16150

Josh M. from Rockwood,PA USA says (23/Jan/2003):
Alright, this is a pretty sweet fighting game. I enjoy games of all sort for the nintendo gamecube but this game has got to be one of my favorites. Sweet arenas, great graphics, alright characters (need the originals),astounding extras such as art, videos and such, and overall a great fighting game. I was a little dissappointed with the 1 fatality deal...oh well,it can't be helped.Anyway, great game for fighting game fanatics

Overall, best fighter game yet.16006

Dorian from TX, USA says (21/Jan/2003):
Ok, so we lost a little along the way. Lu Kang is dead, we only have one fatality per character, and the multi-level fighting arenas are gone. So what's left? Well, awsome graphics, realistic fighting, simple (and realistic) combos, a ton of secrets (including Scorpion's awsome alternate costume, complete with flaming skull), lots of blood, coded profiles, and more. Finally, after spending hours perfecting your moves on a specific character, a ten-year-old cannot walk up and kick your ass by pushing x and o for thirty seconds (Baek, Tekken II). Instead of just hitting buttons, one has to come up with strategies for short kicks and punches with quick combos, and mix in a special move at the right time. It really feels like a real fight. So we lost a little of the magic along the way. MKDA is still, in my opinion, the best overall fighter to date. It delivers exceptional graphics, realistic fighting, and other goodies. I see it as a stepping stone. The game is the first in a new revolutionary style of MK. Instead of complaining about what's missing, lets beat the hell outta this one, and see what's in store for the next addition. If the next MK doesn't deliver some good, new surprises, then let's start bitching. For now, I'm entertained.
