Anthony Age 21, Its alright not like old MK though |
| John Anthony Norat JR. from Duluth Ga 30096 says (18/Feb/2003): |
Alright check this out.. ITs awasome, But its lacks 1.) Special moves unlike other MKs Their were many Specials, Fatalities, also COMBOS AND MOVMENT big issue to me.. not enough combos, plain and simple, and movement, my boy says he loves it but i don't i think you should have all 4 buttons on the l1 l2 r1 r2 not just 3. Hay im picky i know... but i say the thing that got me hooked ... Was the grahics I think their the Best the mortal kombat team has done so far!! good job i give you props
|
The story line is fucking good |
| A gamer from Australia says (22/Feb/2003): |
This is the first mk game i have ever owned, mainly i havent ever had interest with mk but when i visited the site i thought forget metroid prime im getting this the only other fighter game that even get near this is that of super smash brothers melee and i think this is better. I gave this game a 8 because its missing a few things. The first thing is that if the endings were movies(not speechs) i would raise it to bout 9.2. The second thing is that the fatalities are LAME, i mean very lame there has not been one good one i think the graphics of the fatalities arent at there best and what they do are very crap. The story is what interested me the most and with the endings i love it even more. The characters arent all balanced evenly because some characters have less special moves which does not give them as good chance to fight but overall the characters are balanced enough. Finally the graphics in the game are sharp and very nice the blood is a bit over the top but i guess thats what mk is for ill look forward to the release of mk6.

Take it from me, i'm a games freak and i know what I'm talking about sonny. |
| A gamer from Richmond, New Jersey says (24/Feb/2003): |
MK Deadly Alliance lived up to my expectations. It carried on the spirit of the previous MK games but refurbished certain areas of the game. For example the fatalities, which are quite breath taking and gruesome. The Konquest mode is a welcome feature, making character control easier for beginners. I was slightly disappointed at the amount of fatalities availible, only one per character and no animalities, babalities, friendships, brutalities or background fatalities (remember the spike pit?). What livens it up, however, are the three different fighting styles per character, giving your chosen character more variation and a unique feel about them, unlike previous MK games. The graphics are smooh and crisp and the gameplay is fast and brutal. THIS IS MORTAL KOMBAT AT ITS BEST.

A bit dissapointed |
| A gamer from Down Under says (26/Feb/2003): |
Well where to begin? Like most MK fans i rushed out to buy MK5 but after about half hour was dissapointed. Only one fatality per character, no brutality, animality and worst of all the fact that if you experiment with characters you will find they all have combo's where it is impossible for the enemy to block once started. For example use scorpion change to weapon and go the hack after awhile you will work it out, it evens works on moloch. But enough of the negatives because the positives well outnumber the negatives, the fatalitys look brilliant a definiate 10 out of 10 for graphics, sound is brilliant I like to turn music volume right down and sound fx at max, the controls are very easy to learn and you'll be pulling off combo's like the gooks at the arcade in no time, and let me assure you that if you want to unlock all extra characters and costumes and areans you will be having some pretty late nights. Now time for my favorite new feature in the game, "TEST YOUR MIGHT" and "TEST YOUR SIGHT" now test your might involves pushing the buttons quickly to build up strenth to break something, each time you advance you need abit more strength. Now test your sight is my favorite remember the trick with 3 cups and a coin under 1 then the cups get rotated quickly and you have pick the one the coin is under, well this is just the same only the coin is a MK symbol and the more you advance the quicker they rotate and more cups are added then the camera rotates round the cups as the cups still rotate it get pretty difficult but patience is a virtue and trust me you'll need it.

Almost Flawless |
| Carbon copy from Classified says (27/Feb/2003): |
A truly noble evolution for this popular franchise. A lot of thought and work obviously went into this game. I bow in respect to its creators. I have never seen so many things to do in a beat em up before. The earn currency from fights and quests system is a great idea. Tons of extra features to be unlocked. The graphics for the characters and arenas are very well rendered indeed. The fast and furious fighting keeps you on your toes. Sound and music are the best yet for the MK series. Theres a few downers that will not wash well with the hardcore MK fans though. The lack of fatality options (Been mentioned many times) and the fact that they killed Lui Kang (Or did they???). Other than that it gets a big thumbs up from me. FIGHT!

One of the best Games i have played. |
| Luis Angel Quirk from USA says (7/Mar/2003): |
The first time i played mortal combact i did not like it because the graphics sucked and all. Then i got my playsation 2 and gave it a chance. And i have to tell you that this game is one of my favorites. The graphics are great, the characters soo cool and one of the things that i think was the coolest was the krypt because that gives information about the game and you need to unlock the characters and because it takes a long time to guess which box has the character, it is very exiting when you do and very dissapointing when you choose an empty one. Even though i think this game is one of the best there is only one thing i do not like, it is the big moster that you need to kill before you get to the last 2 characters. I really hope they make another game because i will not think twice if i want to buy it or not.

SIMPLICITY was the key and mk forgot it!!! |
| SHANEY liverpool from liverpool ENGLAND says (9/Mar/2003): |
What happened eh?mk:da has got potential but only to get other companies copying of it or for a second ps2 bloodfest,i think that there could have been more to do like a team battle mode or even a tag would have been nice, i wanted to see how sick the fatalities were going to be and a few namely quan chi's neck pull were quite crap and not even in the slightest bit gory i think for the next mk the makers should have a write in to get the fatalities tailor made by us to suit the ppl that count!?!? US not them US anyway lets not moan lets look at the god points eh and there is some good points LOTS the music is your old mortal kombat usual stuff but thank god its still there and not some techno tune the graphics are simply somthing else they are the best i especially like the background on the portal (my fav level) the blood is as gory as ever with chunks of flesh optional where you can change the blood level from off low medium or max (MAX IS THE $#< remove me > at !) the gamplay incorporates a new system were you can change from three stances one being a weapon (which you can't drop but hey) the special moves are simple but effective (not enough in my book but hey im eccentric about special moves innit) the combinations are good and plentiful but there is no hidden combos which i hoped there would be and there is an in game move list which helps my thick freinds so theyre not always saying hey how do you do this move or how do u do this move there is a konquest mode where you have to train your self and learn moves step by step it isnt like other mk's i wanted to play it when i knew it was coming out i just wanted to see the down and punch uppercut to see if it was still as brutal and alas there was none(bugger)there is a krypt where you have to pick out coffins to see whats inside opened with money you earn through the game even though 95% of the stuff in side is a load of anus you might if you have a year or two get through them all 676 in all and thats where the other characters are unlocked to so happy hunting. Lastly (ok ok im going to moan again) i thought that there should have been more fatalities 2 at least i mean these computers are state of the ar6t ps2 xbox gamecube i mean come on midway lets sort it out is two tooo much to ask for eh??? and there is NO pit level i repeat NO pit level so sorry all you ppl that just button bash you wont be doing any death moves any time soon and thats it in my opinion if you want a game thats entertaining and blody brutal then mkda is on the list but for the beat em up enthusiast i think the game will burn out soon cos there just isnt enough to keep you going forever whereas i still play mk1 cos there is just somthing excellent about it and that somthing is magic and can not be replicated mk da has forgotten how to make this simple magic come to life on your video games console ill give it 7 out of ten(god loves a tryer) oh and finnally please midway add some more characters please i want to show off a little bit more cheers mate oh and come ereeeeeee FINISH HIM Beyatch!!!!

this game rocks |
| james from belfast, says (10/Mar/2003): |
this game is so kool. it may not have as much as the other MK games but so wot. its still mortal kombat. the greatest fighting games of all time. any1 who says that MK will die off because of not having lots of finishing moves r wrong. any true mortal kombat fan will tell you that the reason MK was so good was because of its style, not its fatalities. yes they were excellent additions but r they the only reason most people liked MK. no they r not. this mortal kombat is just as good as any other MK game in the series. the combos are kool and a lot of them r hard to time perfectly but hey so wot nothins perfect. besides there are a lot of other combos that are easier 2 pull off. master them first then try the harder ones. the graphics r sweet. the hairflow is the smoothest ive seen yet. interactive arenas were a good addition as well. killin liu kang was not the best idea ever but evrythin changes. the only bad thing i can say is that there r not enough characters. bring back the ninjas. all of them.
LONG LIVE MORTAL KOMBAT

| rage from ottawa ont. says (13/Apr/2003): |
The game is awseome no doubt about it. the storyline isn't that clear .the moves the blood are all great who wouldn't love impaling a opponent but the combos make no sense. i just keep pressing buttons while looking at the screen. the konquest is fun but no when you have to enter a combo of like 10 buttons in 20 seconds that can be frustrating. overall the game is perfect

absolutely amasing |

It's a GREAT game, but... why can't I kill with more than just one Fatality?? |
| Eduardo from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil says (18/May/2003): |
Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance is, without any question, THE BEST MK ever. The graphics are awesome. It is amazing the way each character sways and moves according to his/her fighting style. And there's a lot of BLOOD, streaming from the fighters and dirtying the ground! Some old favourites were summoned (Sub-Zero, SCORPION, who looks really nice... By the way, a MK is NOT a MK without them!) and others were wisely dismissed, like that boring Liu Kang (Please, NEVER RESURRECT HIM!!)and all those Sub-Zero's imitators (Ermac, Rain, Noob Saibot...). The new ones are nice, too. The arenas are great and those 'Test your might/sight' were a nice surprise to me. I can't say much more, once I bought the game less than four days ago and, for this reason, I haven't had time to explore it further. But my first impression was great. The only bad point is the fact that each character has ONLY got ONE FATALITY! Consequently, when the 'Finish Him/Her!' message is displayed, I really miss the good old MKTrilogy, that allowed me to choose how I should send Sub-Zero to Hell... In spite of it, MK Deadly Alliance is really a great fighting game!!! It deserves a 9!

what the hell were they thinkin? |
| yo mama from california, usa says (19/May/2003): |
first off i would have to say that this is one of the worst games i have ever played.
i was very upset because i had loved the mortal kombat games in the past and so when this game came out i was thrilled. i bought it on the first day and to my surprise... i hated it. sure the graphics are pretty nice but what else? NUTHIN'!
|
Not as good as tekken |
| A gamer says (23/May/2003): |
The figures lok rather doll like and the blod is well OTT and not really making the game any better however midway has managed to use actual martial arts and a whole lot of them each one varying with the character. the interaction wityh weapons now is very interesting aswell. The levels re quite generic and there has not been alot of effort put into them.
|
Ummmm.....Where's the coolnes of MK's gone by? |
| J'Sin from Alliance,Ohio,U.S.A. says (1/Jun/2003): |
Don't get me wrong, while the style changing and different weapons are quite innovative,it just seems to me that they just ran outta ideas when it came to the Fatalities.Either that or they had a date to have it out by, slacked off till the last minute and just threw it together.I mean c'mon, who actually saw Quan-Chi's Neck stretchin' Girraffe Makin' Crappy < remove me > at #$%n' Fatality and thought it was even worth doing? And whats with the chunks o' pink stuff layin' all over the floor when you do a Fatality that explodes the poor sap you just kicked the crap out of?Is that supposed to be parts of a carcass?Just looks like generic graphics 2 me.So MK has lost its "must buy franchise"status with me.
|
Excellant but not a calssic! |
| Dave Salmon from Essex England says (3/Jun/2003): |
i think that this game is top quality.I own all of the Mortal Kombat games and apart from Mortal Kombat 3 i think that this tops it.Fatalities are a problem on this game and i miss having a choice of how to finish my opponants. The game could have been 10 out of 10 if they had included the classic characters like Liu Kang and Baraka.I have had the game for over a month now and am still enjoying playing. The Krypt system is excellant but its tough to unlock characters.I cant wait to see what midway come up with next!

MKDA isn't so bad at all |
| A gamer from Miami, Fl says (9/Jun/2003): |
I've been playing Mortal Kombat since it first debuted in '92 and ever since i got hooked. The new installment to the series in my opinion is one of the best MK's ever have been made. The effort it took for these guys to come up with so much detail and new gameplays like multi-style fighting is some good stuff. Although I didn't agree with Liu Kang's death but I think you have to understand that the story has to go on (Which is alot more original than the Street Fighter series). Overall I think it is a great game to have in a collection of video games.

Best fighting game ever!!!!!!!!!! |
| Ray from waldwick,new jersey says (14/Jun/2003): |
I think this one was better than all the other mortal kombats i have played. 1 was good, 2 was great,3 sucked, 4 okay, and Deadly Alliance the best. Many of my favorite charactures made it to this game such as Cyrax,Shang Tsung, and best of all Reptile. He never looked so cool. I think any one that hates this game including That yo momma guy all suck. Buy this game its worth the money
|

|
| Karl Sodan from Huntsville, USA says (25/Jun/2003): |
The game has great graphics, but, the missions seem abit annoying and pointless at time. Overall the fatalities are what they have needed to be all along, long, gory, and awesome. I will say that the loss of brutalities, anamalities is abit sad but they just got n the way of what made all the other MK games badass.....the blood and gore
|
Cool Game!! |
| A gamer from Virginia Beach,VA says (1/Jul/2003): |
Thisgame was cool I guess. It had KILLER graphics!!The only thing that sucked was only one fatalitty? LAME!!Also the endings were cut seen, I like the movie endings way better. Another thing is how come you only start out with twelve charecters, because earning a lot of coins to buy charecters can get hard after awhile, but I still love the game and I'll play it a lot!

Ehh |
| Just Ya from Sterling Heights MI U.S.A says (3/Jul/2003): |
Ya its pretty good. It was very interesting. One of my favorite things is cooking with Scorpion, It includes Chopping, Tenderizing, Chopping, Cake Decorationg, and Chopping. Overall it is a good game. My favorite character is Subzero. His story is pretty good. Though the ending of his kinda suck. I have seen almost all of them. N64 Ending is kinda better cause ah they actually moved. LUI KANG DIENG IS GY TOO.
