mortal kombat-low expectations |
| Kung Lao from Outworld, Usa 666 says (14/Dec/2002): |
Ok, Here I will start from the top. Mortal kombat attracted me for one reason and one only and that is deaths such as stage deaths and fatality's and also animalitys, although some people like friendships and babealitys there not really for me, but they gave the game charater and put it into its own relm of games, also the game is missing a few details such as shang soun cant transform into the other players any more and no lui cain this just isnt the same mortal kombat that I first played or grew to love. I must say. I do not have faith in mid-way's abilitys to be creative in the art of death and entertainment well i dont really know what else to say even though the graphics were ok but what do you expect ps2 and xbox format for god sakes all xbox and playstation 2 games look just as good well almost all of them {exmp. devil may cry} well any way as i was saying this game is good for players that havent played mortal kombat but for some of us that have followed it threw its history this is one of the lesser {nothing new to mortal kombats deaths}Rule on.....

great game but ... |
| Carlos from Ft. myers Fl, USA says (7/Dec/2002): |
Mk Da is a great game to play, and i love the graphics, but the fatalities could have been thought out better. Old fatalites return and i was hoping for some new ballistic finshers. Also, everyone has just one.....need more. I love the new 3 style feature.Besides this, the game is damn close to perfect....the backgrounds are awesome too.
|
where are all the fatalities and cheats |
| Jason from Rome, GA says (5/Dec/2002): |
This game is nothing like I thought it would be. The graphic are good but I think tekken and virtual fighter grapics are a lot better. The game does not seem to be as fluid as tekken or virtual fighter. The combos seem to be more like specal moves instead of combos. But I could live with all that if they would of had more fatalites and cheats. Only one fatality per charcter and almost all of them include knocking somebodys head off.At least have away to knock them out of the ring into something that kills them. All in all very disappointed

BFGE_______Best Fighting Game Ever |
| Jean Emmanuel from spring valley NY says (2/Dec/2002): |
man!!!! i love this game it has excellent graphic, sound, and the combos "oh my God"i'm nice with both scorpion and sonya i think they're da bomb but one thing i don't like about the game is that there's only fatalities what happened to the brutalities, animalities or the babylities? and one more thing they forgot my favorite character Noob Saibot what happened to this guy he was one of the best characters in MK
|
they totally remade a masterpiece into a masterpiece. great job Ed |
| oscar from laredo tx webb says (27/Nov/2002): |
this has to be the greatest mortal kombat of all time, so far. I really couldn't tell you what the best part is about this game. It runs so smooth, the game play is awsome, and the graphics, storyline. To make it a long story short this game has it all. Better than tekken and I never thought that I would say that let alone write it for everyone to see. MORTAL KOMBAT is back and I love it all over agian.

The game is da bomb |
| A gamer from Lincoln, Nebraska says (27/Nov/2002): |
It is by far the best game of the year. In fact I might even go and say century. The only people who know how to make fighting games like this are the people of Midway. I can't seem to get Frost I think she would be a very nice person to play. Being Subzero's "sidekick" and all. If anyone could help I would appreciate that very much. It is amazing that the people at Midway would take so much time into making this game, I mean it is truely the most fantastic game out there. There is no way I can say this. The game is cunning smart and very boldly life like.
|
The game is the baddest , but |
| Marc from W P B, Fl baby says (26/Nov/2002): |
I could not wait for the deadly alliance. Once i got it, i totally went crazy. Scorpion is the baddest character on there. However, the only thing that kills me is the finish him. I thought there would be more stuff like animality, brutality, and so. And they only have fatalities. That's kind of sucked....
|
Dis game iz da bomb! |
| A gamer from San Diego, CA USA says (26/Nov/2002): |
Might I add, the game doezn't need no stupid babyalities nor animalities nor friendships and all dat isshhh...!!! They're too f#%&< remove me > at 'n corny and STUPID!!! The fatalities are already great, so no need to add stupid moves like the ones above!!! I used to not like Mortal Kombat much becoz of those moves! Its a good thing that Midway erased those friendships, babyalities and all dat! The graphics are so tight! The combos are tight, the characters... everything looks great!!!
|
The best fighting game to date! |
| Allan from Irvington,USA says (25/Nov/2002): |
As soon as I heard "Round 1, FIGHT" I was hooked.I sleep dreaming of the different fighting styles, incredible weapons, and of course the even more realistic Fatalities. There isn't a Mortal Kombat fan in the Earthrealm or Outworld who should be disappointed with this game.In the beginning the many fighting styles may be a little intense, but once you learn a couple combos here and there, you will love it. The makers of the game brougt back all the fan favorites like Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, and Sub Zero. The new characters bring there own flare to the game as well. Frost, Drahmin, and Kenshi all bring a brutal personality to match ther fighting styles. The Konquest mode gives you more to do than just beating up on the computer in arcade mode. Everyone should also get a kick out of winning in the arcade or Konquest mode and taking a trip to the Krypt and opening koffins to see what secrets awaits. With 676 koffins you will have you hands full trying to open them all. Well thats enough talking I'm going to go back and try some new fighting styles and figure out some more Fatalities for anyone who wants to challenge me. Outstanding!

Great gameplay, Less Fatalities |
| Tom B. from Long Island N.Y says (24/Nov/2002): |
MKDA is a great game, with crisp graphics and clean gameplay. The Krypt is a great idea, i saw reviews up top that said having to find characters ni the krypt is a bad thing, i think that is bad judgement. 1st of ll there easy to find, any koffin that is worth over 2000 is a character , my only complaint is that theres not nearly enough fatalities. p.s- xg-Raiden, SA-Jax, KI-Kitana, MV-Hso-Sao, TI-Nitara, LL-reptile find the rest for urselves there easy to find

Dis is one Bad-Motha |
| Daniel Daake from Bartlesville, ok, usa says (22/Nov/2002): |
OMG!!! I can't believe my eyes. Its Mortal Kombat reborn. This realistic 3-D, fight game is da shiznit. Midway awsome job in coding this game. If you like the dicing and slicing fight games this is the one to get. Has everything from 3 different fighting styles, while you are fight, to the best FINISHING MOVES i have ever seen. I have been a Mortal Kombat fan sense the very first one came out and now that this one came out, 24/7 game play, kinda forgot about school, didnt know it existed, but everything is so realistic cant believe the attari even existed. I have to give this game a 10 out of 10 not just because the fighting is awsome but the different modes like "konquest", where you have to earn points to buy graves out of the "Krypt", which contain pictures, characters, bonus material and ect. keeps you playin the game for weeks. Good job Midway!
|
Koffins |
| Zach from Ohio, USA says (22/Nov/2002): |
In order to unlock characters, you've got to get kurrency and then go to the krypt. It helps to have a memory as you also need to have a profile. There are 676 koffins...each containing something. Some containing nothing. You just have to pick and choose, that's all. I'll give you this though, koffins "CN" and "KI" have characters.
|
Good Game |
| Antoine from Los Angeles, CA, USA says (22/Nov/2002): |
I've been a big fan of the MK series from day one. I do however have more complaints about this game than the some of the other's. For instance, having to go online just to figure out the fatalaties is one set back. A major one at that. Not everyone has internet or any other way of finding these out. Second, the horrible way you have to hunt out hidden characters in the krypt. I still don't even know how to unlock a whole lot of them. The one's that aren't in the crypt. I can see that they're trying to add playability to the game, but a good game will have that anyway. This game is more frustrating than necessary. Only a die-hard fan like myself can sit and just grit my teeth about it as apposed to many who aren't going to be willing to deal with all the inconvenience.
|
How to get other characters |
| Kris Karlson from Wheaton,IL says (21/Nov/2002): |
First, there are 600 coffins to choose from. The important ones are KI for kitana, UH for Raiden. Also, you get alot of the characters from the konquest mode. You must beat the konquest mode with all of the reular characters and then more become availible. There ya go. By the way, this game is dope!
|
The best game yet |
| GameGuardian from Harrisonburg, USA says (21/Nov/2002): |
This is one of the best fighting games ever made, with excellent graphics, gameplay, sound, and overall fun. This is a must have game for anyone who hasn't got it, and it is also a great reason to buy the PS2. The only draw back is the way to unlock characters which you will have to earn coins to go to the Krypt and search for them out of 676 coffins which can be very time consuming. That has to be the only difficult part of the game, PLUS the music video for the game has also been included, there are also a lot of other goodies included to keep you playing or watching for hours on end.

Disappointed |
| Brandon from Hammond In says (21/Nov/2002): |
I have always been a fan of mortal kombat but this one is lacking. The graphic’s are great and the blood is beautiful but The creators of this game forgot one key factor the fatalities. Not only the Fatalities Babyalities, and animalities, and the friendship things are what made mortal kombat what it is today. The fact that the all the characters only have one fatality and the fatality they do have is like the same ones from other mortal kombat’s. I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen but this game could have been a lot better. I think this game didn’t meet the standards that everyone was holding it up to. I must admit this game did nothing to improve the great name of Mortal Kombat
|
WOW |
| FCT from Long Island, NY says (20/Nov/2002): |
As a fan of Mortal Kombat, all the way back to the first time i saw Liu Kang get his head ripped off by Scorpion in the 1st Mortal Kombat Game, this has to be the best fighting game ever created. I can sit here and typa all day, telling you how the graphics are some of the cleanest i have ever seen, the player movement is lifelike and smooth, it seems as if you have unlimited combos to come up with, and this is only playing the game for about 2 hours. If you like Mortal Kombat or are a fan of fighting games, just go get it. You wont be dissapointed.
|
Takes what VF4 did and gives it that MK feel |
| And from Lemont, Il says (20/Nov/2002): |
This game is amazing. Not have a wet my pants this bad over a fighting game since soul calibur. If you like fighting games or multiplayer games or games in general you should buy this one. If you have multiplatform systems, the xbox version plays the best and looks the best. PS the KI koffin unlocks Kitana
|
One of the best Playstation Games EVER!!! |
| Sal from Belleville, New Jersey says (20/Nov/2002): |
The people at Midway should give themselves a pat on the back for producing an incredible game. The graphics are awesome, the way the characters move on the screen so fluently is spectaculer, they hit every aspect a fighting game needs to be great. I do agree that you should be able to be pushed or thrown from the fighting areas, but this game is so good, it doesnt even matter. In my mind, this is easily the best Mortal Kombat ever produced, and may very well be the best fighting game ever produced by any system or company. Definately worth the money. PhatSal

Great Game but..... |
| A gamer from Tampa, FL says (20/Nov/2002): |
I just got my copy today and it really is an outstanding piece of software. My only major complaint is that in the Gamecube version (not sure about other platforms) you can only use the digital pad and not the analog stick. This setup is kind of uncomfortable. What does everyone else think?
