great game but ... |
| Carlos from Ft. myers Fl, USA says (7/Dec/2002): |
Mk Da is a great game to play, and i love the graphics, but the fatalities could have been thought out better. Old fatalites return and i was hoping for some new ballistic finshers. Also, everyone has just one.....need more. I love the new 3 style feature.Besides this, the game is damn close to perfect....the backgrounds are awesome too.

mk3 was better |
| forrest holland from escondido says (18/Jan/2003): |
i have been an mk attick since i was 3 i thought it was one of the coolest games ever made it had good game play fluid mooves and the best fatalaties ever and the always cool new charectors but mk:da just didnt have that cool edge like the rest like what is up with the super gay 1 fatality thing and fatalities are really lame with a capitol L and the kions thing i hate that kinda crap having to do all of these gay tings for charectors and the game play is crappy like how the combos arent fluid its like a third rate tekken if virtua fighter had some blood it would be the coolest game out there but there isnt so im stuck playing this game with no charectors but the starting six or whatever there are. :<

MK 1,2, And 3 Were better Before!....... |
| A gamer says (23/Jan/2003): |
MK Was better.....
I think that It was btter before because they had good Optional Fatalities. This guys killed the game with making each character with only one fatality.I can admit that the new one has "much much" better graphics but whats the fun thing if you dont have more Fatalities in the game and "also" what happened to the cool Sub-Zero fatalities. This game is fun to play I did like some of the new stuff "one example is that you can bet money" but they shouldnt had killed the main character of the game who we all know.....
I lke the thing they did with the swords and some of the new characters, But i still give MKDA a 5 and thatas my final answer and th price was to expensive for the pice of $#< remove me > at ! this game is now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this game rules, bottem line! |
| A gamer from indiana, usa says (8/Feb/2003): |
well heather from charleston, you have no clue what your talking about. this game easily has the best replay value around.
the graphics are pristine, the story line moved on with the times. alowing for a new hero. the fatalities are really good, except for a couple. the addition of multiple fighting styles including weapons rocks. this one will be on top for a long time.
|
It's a great game but it is almost too easy!!! |
| Chris from Albert lea , M.N. USA says (9/Feb/2003): |
I think this game is really easy in its own way beacause you only have to open tombs to find most of the characters...although it is challenging to find Mokap and Blaze...the best characters...if anyone is wandering, you must pass konquest mode for all characters and for mokap...you go to Rayden and press down and start and for blaze you do the same except you put the cursor on Cyrax thank you for listening!

MK hasnt seen a better game but ther are a few problems |
| SwEEneY from jersey city, new jersey says (12/Feb/2003): |
like most mk fans iv been with the series ever scince the begging and this is by far the best. im glad to see that its not the same ol mk game but that theyv made the story line seem realistic in a mk way and that the kharicter roster has changed a lil and isnt the same amount. its nice to see the good guys lose sumtimes. i also love the 3 fighting styles thing, i my self take escrima, kali sticks, and tea kwon do and its nice to see real styles being incorperated. the fakt they inkluded the forms of some of the kharicters was great and they really did represent the real styles very well. this game has great replay value n me n my friends never get bored with it. i also liked the way the kontrols were set up. there not to easy but not to hard. the only thing i had a lil problem with was the graphiks, while they arnt the worst they kud hav been better(like the graphics in doa3 )but theyr easily barable. it was also kool thta they had alot of kool stuff in the krypt. well over all the game is great but a lil tweek in the graphics wus hav made the game even better. 1

best gameplay , good graphics ,good story line = satisfied fan |
| slimburnzy from queensland says (25/Feb/2003): |
i got this game on the weekend because myself like many other die hard mortal kombat fans were anxious to own the game 4 ourselves.
the story line is superb with a detailed introductory movie scene at the beggining that just blew me away with bold new moves taken to the new story line.
This game is by far the most enjoyable and challenging fighting game that i have ever played , i particularly enjoyed the 3 different fighting styles (2 hand 2 hand and 1 weapon) and i am always using the weapons , mainly sub-zero's sword because a big benifit of using the weapon is being able to impale your enemy so that he/she slowly loses blood making it easier to kill them.
a new feature they hav added to mortal kombat which i thought was quite appropriate was "the crypt". The crypt has hundreds of rows of koffins all kontaining secrets such as extra characters character costumes movie clips , history about the series , extra's, and much more which will need a certain amount of koins to unlock each koffin.
the exelent graphics go well in the game with the background music and realistic sounds complimenting the game further.
the only dissapointing point of the game and im sure fans will readily agree is that this version only has one type of fatality which is a major let down , although the fatalities themselves are amazing 2 watch and just as fun 2 learn.
im giving this a ten because i realythink it deserves it , but as a big mortal kombat fan it is almost impossible to non-biased but thats my thoughts and not yours , in my opinion its the only fighting game u should own

Where's the spirit?! |
| Rob from Edinburgh, Scotland says (4/Mar/2003): |
Ok fair enough, the game is good, graphics rock, the characters are pretty diverse, the krypt and konquest are good features, and the game has quite a bit of life. But its hardly mortal kombat is it?!! Its an imitation!! I was so hyped about the game, and i mean soooooooo hyped, i loved the mortal Kombat games!!! i mean in the last one they had sooooooo many characters, with the stage features like the spikes and the different floors and all that jaz, i mean unless the company is holding out on the secrets till later, the incredibly disgusting lack of finishers, characters, features, gore and little guys saying toasty, deffinately bring this game down to a way sub mortal combat level. PLus, its soooo easy!!! I mean, the first mortal combat was nails!!! I was soooo dissapointed at this game. Ps, if ive missed something, please tell me what it is.

This Game is Heavy! |
| BJ (TIPU) from London, England says (29/Mar/2003): |
This is the best fighting game i have ever played in my life. Even better than all the other Motral Kombats. But the only complaint i have from MK:DA is that it should have most deffinately included Lui Kang. Because he is one of my favourite character. The area that the people fight in should have also been expanded. like you can get kicked from 1 stage to another.
|
pretty damn good! |
| Brain from NY ..USA says (10/Apr/2003): |
as a Mortal fan from the beggining, this game captures that great feel of the 2D in a 3D format..get it and give it a chance it will grow on you. The only thing is there should be more characters(like Mortal Trilogy) and why the hell should you have to unlock people like Raiden and Kitana?? if your gonna have to unlock something make it some sick ass character we've never seen! ..Mortal Trilogy still is the best though!!! plenty to choose from in that!

|
| hannibal from canada says (19/Apr/2003): |
I think the fighting was almost pethetic.for mk 6 they should make the hand to hand combat like ufc using mk 5 graphics because they were great.but they dont need to change the weapon stlye they were great and one of the better things about the game. For sure they need to add a stage fatality for every stage.and the fatalitys should all turn into movies like the intro of resident evil 2,you know the zomie gets in the truck.thats how the fatalitys should be when it says finish him it goes into movie mode maybe sub zero says your ass is mine radien runs over to a logging truck gets in and drives radian into a wall bloods every where sub zero gets out walks over to radian and pulls out his sword and decapetates him.Now that would be cool. Also I think when you kill your opponnent you should take one of there powers like if you beat radian you could use his electic move as an option.they should also add full movies when you beat the game for each player. The crypt was cool on mk 5 though, keep that for sure.At the begginng of the game lu kang gets kills in movie mode that is the way all the fatalities should have been done of course more talking and brutal use the fatality mentioned above for sure.definetly make the hand to hand exactly like ultimate fighing championships because its so brutal but realistic and you have lots of stlyes.

Duuuuuuuuuuuude i like it!!!!!!!! |
| pshymon from usa says (30/Jun/2003): |
OK, first the bad. I didnt find as much story in this one as i did in the others but the whole thing with scorpian and quan chi is great!! And if your not good at these type of games you never really get REALLY good. but the good is much longer! If you are not good at these type of games the konquest is cool cause you learn and get money. graphics are great! only one fatality each but there really cool.Over all it wasnt the best but is really close.
|
This game is the best.... |
| Leech Hunter from Camden,NJ says (6/Jul/2003): |
Once Motal Combat DA was released i was happy to get it.Once i saw the intro at the beginning i was gald that Lou Cang died.
HA HA HA HA!I know there 1 main problem. The lack of more than one fatalities. MKDA characters have phat fatalities but need more than one. Well everything else is the best. Oh,dont forget to purchase the Cooking With Scorpion video. Its funny as hell. And yes it is way better than Tekken and Virtual Fighter in every wat possible. My favorite MKDA fighters are Sub-Zero,Scorpion,Kenshi and Blaze.10 out of 10.Best Ever!!

Loved but could bring back some stuff. |
| animality lover from charleston,illinois USA says (20/Jul/2003): |
I loved the game it had awesome graphics and a lot of blood but they left out some things that made the game great, like animology and only one fatality. also wat am i supposed to do after i have all the characters and beat all the missions just start over that is boring, i hope u bring back that stuff it would make the game better and funner, but even though i love the game and i like moloch but u cant use any moves on him he is to hard, but i think u should go out and buy this game at any chance u get u wont regret it.
|
Rent it dont buy it |
| Chris Turner from Leeds England says (23/Jul/2003): |
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance lacks depth. The graphics are good but taking liu kuang out of the game spoils it.Konquest mode is pointless and boring and not being able to use the backgrounds to finish off aponents like in the acid bath and lava pools is stupid. The endings are boring and not worth the hassle of going through arcade mode to get them.More finishing moves are needed and a greater story mode to get in to konquest mode should let you have more freedom for you. Overall graphics are good and sounds are but only rent or you will loose interest in a short space of time.

Great Game But Lacking Some Few Things. |
| A gamer from addison usa says (26/Jul/2003): |
This Game Is Great But In The Long Run They Got Ride Of Some Of The Peoples Favorite Characters. Personally I Was Made When I Found Out You Can Only Get Reptile As A Lizard And Not As His Original Self Even After The Unlocking Of His Alternative Outfit. Plus Taking SMoke Completely Out Made Me Mad Like No Other. Personally The Ninja's Where The Best Part Of The Games In Past And They Were What Brought Me Back To Mortal Kombat This Time Over Any Other Fighting Game!

Wasn't the worst |
| Rob from ST LOUIS, MO USA says (12/Jan/2004): |
What happened to two or three fatalities each, plus stage fatalities, babalities, friendships, brutalities, and animalities? These are things that were very nice about previous games. And the selection of characters is unlimited. And the only two "hidden" characters lack any fatality. And the fatalities are lame...I mean Quan Chi just stretches the other guy's neck, with horrible graphics I add. And what is up with the chunks of whatever in the aftermath of fatalities? And the combos aren't that good either...about the only nice thing is the addition of the impale option while in weapons mode. I do like the two fighting techniques from which one may choose...but the "Special Attacks" are limited and lame...some having only two apiece. Midway sure does need to shape up. It's a complete disappointment...and waste of money. :( If I had more than two thumbs to offer, I'd give it several thumbs down. I couldn’t believe the lack of special features. And having to buy things from the Krypt was very lame…I think this was a much larger let down than the Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero game on PS1. At least with that game you couldn’t expect much…but with this being the latest of the MK games, and especially after MKT, there are expectations; none of which MKDA fulfilled.

What Happened to MK |
| A gamer from Tennessee says (18/Jan/2003): |
The Graphics and gameplay, plus the moves ar cool. But making us learn a whole new combo system sucks.i like the old one. Then they go and take out to many of the characters, kill em off that is.Playing the Konquest is ok,but it gets boring doing the same stuff over and over. The Krypt just sucks. There is what over 600 koffins and mostly nothing but crap in.You play for the big Koins and to get what a stupid picture or art,,"COME ON".Then all we get is 1 Fatality per character,That just stinks and some are really stupid. The games ok,but they better get back to the way it was or they will eventually kill MK as the best fighting game.

| satan from hell says (9/Feb/2003): |
this game is really a great game. the graphics are awesome. the gameplay is also wonderful. one thing that could have and should have been better is the fatalities. ive seen a total of 3 fatalities that i really like, the rest are retarded. correct me if im wrong but isnt it the blood and guts that makes mortal kombat. i remember when the first mortal kombat came out. everyone was like "have you played the fighting game where you can rip out your opponents spine?" that is what made the game so popular, the controversy. forgive me if i didnt spell that right. anyway this game gets a thumbs up in my book. i just wish the producers would have focused more on the fatalities.

Great game but some negatives... |
| Steve from north bay, ontario, CAN says (24/Feb/2003): |
I myself think this is a great fighting game, playing almost all previous mortal kombat games and arcades. The konquest mode is too short I think, and there should have been 2 fatalities per character, like the older ones. Also, there are no babalities, friendships, brutalities or animalities, which i was dissapointed at. The krypt is pretty damn cool, because it makes it seem like you could never finish the game. But personally, I think the other ones were better because the main part of the game is supposed to be about gruesome, gory fatalities. The storyline was great, except the fact that Liu Kang had died. HE WAS MY CHARACTER!! He was everyones character... but meh thinks change. Great amount of characters but theres no explanation of the characters in the early games. Why is sektor, noob saibot, nightwolf, and many others not in this game? This kinda blows, man. If they make a better mortal kombat with more moves and fatalities, I'M THERE!!! But oh man the graphics are CrAzY!!! I rate 10/10 for graphics!!! Sound was great to... i think i'll be playing this game for a while but if a new one comes out, i'm getting it for sure.
