An old concept given a new twist. It just makes it better. Retro! | | Nick from Dillon, MT says (7/Nov/2002): | I've generally been a loyal buyer of nintendo products, and am rarely dissapointed with their systems. Games, on the other hand, are not always so good. I've been suckered into buying crap more than once. Now that I'm older and wiser I never make purchases without thuroughly examining the game. I recentally bought my GameCube and picked up Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil. My most recent purchase was CapcomVSSNK 2 EO, and I couldnt be happier with it. A throwback to old Street Fighter and Fatal Fury games it is NOT! Beautifully updated character graphics and all new 3d backgrounds compliment an exciting fighter. And this ones all about skill baby. If your a fan of any fighting game realy you'll like this one. It's sort of a 2d Tekken (face it, sidestepping in Tekken was almost useless). With a total of 48 characters to choose from it delivers tons of diversity with a high replay value. Lots of extra features and options round this baby out. Arcade mode delivers 3 ways to play. 3 on 3 matches, single match, and ratio match. Ratio matches make you pick up to 3 players which you assign a total of 4 points to. The more points the stronger the player. Any questions? Basically it goes like this, if you pick one guy he gets all 4 points, if you pick two guys one can have 3 and the other 1 or they both can have 2 points each. Get it? Good. Survival mode is a single match against either all 48 characters or you can play infinite survival with pits you against everyone over and over again until your character is beaten senseless. Verses mode offers all the options of Arcade. With 2 unlockable bosses and 7 or 8 unlockable backgrounds to add to the 7 you start out with this ones a keeper. No slowdown, almost no load time. And did I mention the color edit mode? I made a totally nude Cammy in under 2 minutes. I guess I have too much free time on my hands. Anyhow, if your a fan of old school retro fighters check this one out. With 8 levels of difficulty it makes you realy get good, and I mean GOOD at this game to compete. And 2 player mode is great. Endless fighting matches with your friends. Wheeee!!!!!!
