good but not the best |
| A gamer from U.S.A. says (3/Jan/2003): |
to suggest that this game somehow is better than goldeneye is ridiculous. don't get me wrong, it's a great game, great levels, great storyline. but it lacks the amount of weapons, the amount of levels, and the amount of characters that goldeneye had. for a great multiplayer FPS check out timeplitters 2. overall, great game, but please don't compare it to goldeneye.

It is really awsome, James Bond Night Fire is the best!!!!!!!! |
| Jonathan from Goergia, Savannah, USA says (3/Jan/2003): |
I got the game for X-mass and it is made just like the movies are with all the cinimatics. It has a good story with it. It also isn't as esay as "Agent Under Fire" this one is actually a challenge. It isn't addictive but it is really fun. The grafics are really good but the gun sound effects aren't when you are in an indoor area. Thats why I gave it a nine!

I want Rare! |
| A gamer from Gloucestershire, England says (2/Jan/2003): |
This has realy nice graphics and quite a good i player game but overall it just isn't the same without Rare. The multiplayer isn't as good as TWINE or Goldeneye. Or maybe i'm being a bit harsh.

|
If u get gamecube, nightfire is ur first priority! |
| Baron Samedi from PA, USA says (30/Dec/2002): |
this game kicks < remove me > at $$! The storyline is great, the bots have improved, and the 1 player is sweet! The minuses r, the weapons r not as good, 1 player's too short and the goldeneye's 2 player was a little better. and it should hav been made by Rare. Overall, this game rules, but, Goldeneye's better

ghgi |
| JOE NUMARINA from CRISTOPH,CINCINATTI says (30/Dec/2002): |
i think goldeneye is much better. but the driving levels are reaLLy good! The game is good but lacks the true bond humour and there is not enough levels. goldeneye has better mp and beter guns as well. the graphics are top notch and the AL of the enimies are ex. the gagets are much improved.
|
best bond yet!! |
| john shields from Ringgold,Georgia USA says (30/Dec/2002): |
I think that EA did a very well job on the outstanding hit series (007 Night Fire, and the world is not enough(n-64). however i do think that goldeneye was great but my decision is that rare needs to give up there day jobs cause they are no match for EA's NightFire! well i just hope EA countinues to make the bond games, cause so far they've done an excellent job! sincererly John Shields, u.s.a

| Andy .R. from Edinburgh, Scotland says (27/Dec/2002): |
When I got 007 Nightfire on x-mas I was addicted to it in under 10 minutes! The controls are easy to use, great graphics and the Aston Martin.... that is nice!! After finished the 12 levels on operative i'll be going on to Agent thn 00 Agent with flying colours!!! After completed everything unlocked everything i'll be waiting for the next James Bond game and that will be 5 times as good!!

Nightfire rules, Goldeneye drules |
| Jonathan from Capetown,South Africa says (27/Dec/2002): |
I think goldeneye sucks against nightfire. the scenes is much better and the game is much faster. And you can play with your friends online.
|
Time to shelf goldeneye. |
| sajb007 from Canada says (26/Dec/2002): |
Goldeneye rvolutionized the bond franchise, being the first successfuly bond game. Now Nightfire has come along, and goldeneye has become nothing more but a collectors item. The first thing you notice is the excellent Nightfire theme(not Bond theme, Nightfire theme) EA has gotten a group to do a special song just for the game. You cannot find the song anywhere else, and it is very catchy. The FMV (full motion video) really bring the bond fantasy to life as you advance through the missions to stop a madman from taking over the world. It is also nice to see Pierce Brosnan himself in the game, although it is not his voice. Who has time to do all the voice acting anyway? The graphics are outstanding and makes goldeneye look like silly putty. The multiplayer is the best aspect of the game, combining Perfect Dark qualities and a Bond attitude. 4 humans and 6 bots (4 for playstation) can be inputted into a game for frantic 10 player action. The scenarios included are also very entertaining. You can also set hte personality of the bots as well (assasin, team player, vengeful). The weapon sets in the game are numerous and plenty of fun, pistols, missile and grenade launchers, automatics, automated turret gun concealed in a briefcase, you get the picture. The gadgetry in much more improved over Agent Under Fire, standard watch/laser, keychain/stunner, cigar lighter/hidden camera, PDA/decryptor, cell phone/grappling line, shaver/remote flash bang, credit card/mini-CD MI6 program, to name a few. The bond theme is everywhere, but not to the point where it gets annoying. In fact, it comes in just when you feel it is needed. When you take out a bunch of guards and feel proud, the bond theme comes in and makes you feel as if you are bond. The single player will take around 6-8 hours to finish in the easiest difficulty (Operative). Agent and 00Agent will take much longer, especially in the harder levels. The multiplayer is what many will hold on to, as you can play by yourself and have you and some bots versus other bots. The levels are vast and provide excellent movement, even in the smallest stage. The storyline is very intriguing and the levels are linked together well. Overall, i think Bond games are beginning to regain their value and integrity after some good, but not great games (TWINE, AUF). I hope that EA will continue to bring excellent Bond games and perhaps even one based on Die Another Day.
So go out, buy the game right now, get some friends, and play to 3 in the morning!

Wicked |
| Hektik Sniper from London says (26/Dec/2002): |
This game is unbeatable as a bond, loads of guns. The missions are fun. It feels more like a movie than a game. The aston martin levels are wicked and so is the mulitplayer. Well done Rare!

NIghtfire vs GoldenEye |
| Cobretti from Melbourne, Australia says (22/Dec/2002): |
Nightfire is great i like the interactive movie scenses during the game play, however i still think that goldeneye is the best bond, even thougth nightfire is a newer generation console game. The game play was more challaging in goldeneye, and most importantly RARE made it, the best company for making games in my opinion. EA make great sports games but bond i feel if RARE made nightfire would most definetly top Goldeneye.

What can be said, WOW! |
| S Murray from Manchester, England says (20/Dec/2002): |
At last we have a Bond game that can challenge, and dare I say it, better Goldeneye. The multiplayer is unmatchable and the ingame action is unbelievable, So many weapons, so many gadgets, so many veichles, and of course, so many women! In short, THE best Bond game to date! 10/10!

Night fire has been one of the greatest games i have ever played. |
| A gamer from New York, U.S.A. says (11/Dec/2002): |
First of all I would just like to start out by saying that 007 nightfire has been one of the greatest games that I have ever played in my entire life. This newest istalment of James Bond video games is one that I think everyone will remember. It's not just that the graphics were great (which they were) but it's the fact that this game has action, adventure, and a bit of romance to cap it off. Because as ussual the Bond babes are to die for. Once in a while you get those games were if you don't run out and buy it you are a big fat LOSER! and everybody knows it. James Bond 007 Nightfire is without a dought one of those games. You don't just buy this game because everyone else says it's good, you buy this game because you say it's good. The graphics were so real that I thought that I was really there. The sound exploded through my head like a shockwave of excitement. The gameplay is amazing yet simple in other words you don't need to press 5 buttons just to shoot the damn gun. The expectant lifespan of this game in my eyes is at least afew more years. The fun factor if I even have to say it is obviously a ten. Nothing beats this game it's the most fun anyone can have. That is why simply put this one of the best games ever from all genres.

I never seen anything like this i think this is the best 007 they made so far |
| Lonzo from Arroyo Grande California USA says (6/Dec/2002): |
when i first played 007 for 64 it was fun using all the new guns and bombs after a while it got boring. Then when i heard about the world is not enough i just had to get it and see how it was i thought it was better than the first one because it had more guns and better explosives after a couple of days the game wasn't that fun no more. After i got done with that one my friend told me that they made a new one called 007 agent under fire so you i had to get this one too when i played i couldn't stop this game had me up all night the graphics where pimpt out and so were the weapons i thought this was the 007 but once again i found out that nightfire came out. I got it the first day and man I just couldn't believe my eyes with the graphics, the controllable helicopter and tank now that was bad i also thought weapons where tight too like the suitcases that fire automatcially and the bombs with the timers on it. This is the best one i played so far but then again maybe not. Peace out all you pimps ha ha ha!!

The Best Bond Game Ever Blew Me Away! |
| Eric from Holt (Mi) USA says (1/Dec/2002): |
To put it simply: Nightfire Rules. This game has got to be the best Bond Game ever. Goldeneye comes close, but this game does prevail as the leader of Bond Games. What more could you want out of this game? You have an awesome arsenal of weapons, along with a few new gadgets that come in handy. A Stunner, that looks like some car keys, can incapacitate your enemies while you gfind just the right weapon you want to finish them off. A micro-camera, looks like a lighter, but no! It is used to take pictures of equipment later on in the game, and it helps you find those pesky snipers in the level "Chain Reaction." This game even has a smoke grenade that looks like an electric shaver. This game, however, is probably the hardest Bond game you've played yet. I spent hours trying to beat just one level, working out all the details needed to win. But, even though this game may be difficult, there are many secrets to help you along the way. You need to be like Bond himslef, however, to find them. This game has gripping story line right from the beginning of it. Plus, as if that wasn't enough, what Bond game is complete without Multiplayer? An all new updated Multiplayer section is bound to keep gamers glued to the tv for hours on end. People from classic bond movie make appearences here too, like Ms. Galore (ahem...no need to say the first name), Oddjob, Jaws, Scaramanga, and Goldfinger, along with many more. This gmae is a game that no gamer, whether you have a Gamcube, PS2, of XBox, should be without

Good, but not Great |
| Sean from Toledo, Ohio says (25/Nov/2002): |
I have recently bought the game and have some comments. First off, i want you to know i am not an excelent player, mediocre at best. I feel that the actual game is lacking something. I liked AUF's campaign better (easier!). I personaly have trouble getting the platinum medals and in the harder missions i havent gotten any medals at all. I feel as if they were trying too hard with the missions. like my title, the missions are good, but not great. On the other hand the graphics are excellent. I was blown away at the quality. And the vidio at the biggening is a great touch. The multiplyer is very good, but i am dissapointed that the q-claw is gone. the grapple isnt nearly as good because you can onlu hok on to designated areas. The mini-vehicles are sniper rifles make up for it though. So overall this game is definitly worth getting. But i dont think it the the best Bond.

Nightfire |
| A gamer says (21/Nov/2002): |
The Bottom Line: The best Bond game yet, though not without problems.
The Eternal Question: Nightfire or TS2? I've played both although I do not own TS2, and TS2 is slightly better, although Nightfire's theme and "feel" tend to make me lean towards Nightfire by a VERY narrow margin.
If you met the people in Nightfire, you would most likely ask: "Why would an environmentalist want to blow up the world with nukes?"
Gameplay: 24.5/25
I'm not big on First-Person Shooters, but the gameplay on Nightfire is very good. There are not that many weapons, but the ones that are in the game are very good. I was originally going to give it a 24, but the dialogue and cutscenes are very well-done and funny. My favorite line is after Zoe gets her cover blown in mission 2, "Interrogation? What kind of a party is this?" The AI is much better than in AUF, though this can get annoying when they occasionally swarm and destroy you.
Replay Value: 18.5/20
The Single Player will probably take 9 or 10 hours for me on Operative, and the multiplayer is very good. Most important characters from previous Bonds are in multiplayer (Ironically, Zoe is the most notable person missing), though you have to unlock EVERYTHING. In fact you get bonuses for getting silver medals. So far, a gold medal is 200,000 points for all levels which is about 75-100k AUF points, although the platinums are harder to get than on AUF. By far the biggest limiting factor in Multiplayer is the dearth of maps (only 7 AI-Compatible), and the fact that you have to choose your weapons from a premade set (like on TWINE). On the plus side, you can have up to 4 players and 6 bots for 10 total people.
Graphics: 20/20
Perhaps the biggest asset of Nightfire is its graphics which are arguably the best of any game on the Game Cube. You can see people breathing, the snow falling, VERY realilistic explosions, weapons, etc. And 60 FPS. I don't really have much to say about it other than its near perfect.
Sound: 10/10
The voices are done VERY well (although Zoe sounds somewhat better on AUF). You can hear the soldiers in some of the levels talking in actual German with translations on the screen, and the weapons sound very good and crisp. The music is also very good.
Controls/Interface: 8/10
The controls get pretty confusing, although you can switch (I use Thunderball, which is close to AUF but not quite the same). The interface makes up for that by being relatively easy to read, although the menus sometimes also become hard to maneuver through and utilize.
Storyline: 7/7.5
So far there have been no major plot holes (except when Dominique, who doesn't know Bond, assumes he's English and speaks in English instead of French in the first mission) The story is generally pretty interesting, although I am VERY unclear as to Drake's motives. The motives aren't annouced at all. Aside from that, the game's cutscenes are good at keeping you interested in how things are going to turn out.
Difficulty: 7.5/7.5
The difficulty is actually set pretty well. Missions tend to get frustrating at higher difficulties, but I tend to perfer challenge unlike AUF's pathetically simple missions. Some puzzles are hard to figure out, but the overall game isn't too boring and easy or frustrating and hard.
Overall, I give it a 9.55/10.
Oh, and by the way, Q had an amazing resurrection. I guess no one liked R.
