I need help |
| james lemieux from Gonzales, Louisiana says (9/May/2004): |
This game is good and the fighting is awesome. I love how you can throw people through walls but dislike that you cant use certain characters, like shadowcat. I think the powerup feature is cool but i dont like that level four powers drain so much energy. This game is great but i cant figure out the get everything cheat. Every time i enter it my game freezes. Can someone out their help me. This has been annoying me for the past three days and i am getting really ticked off. I would appreciate it extremely if someone could help me. I do NOT feel like beating the game with Blob and every other annoying character.

X-MEN FIGHTING REBORN!! |
| Howie from Scotland says (12/Feb/2004): |
X-men: Next Dimension-the best marvel fighting game. The gameplay and movie graphics are superb- not one character looks slightly the same. Each character has their own special "supers" which can devastate their opponent (e.g, nightcrawler uses his teleporting abilities and combines them with a deadly sword). The story line leaves on the edge of your seat and includes a choice factor near the end of story mode. The gameplay modes include: Arcade,Story mode,Versus,Practise. Also once you complete "Arcade mode" a brief profile of the character you used will appear on the screen with Proff. Xavier narrating it. . But personally, the unique and powerful characters MAKE the game.

"X" tra good |
| Nafrem from Brisbane, Australia says (23/Jan/2004): |
This game is definately original, an has a great story mode to go with it. I found that the story mode was quite hard but i think the trick is to keep working with one character until you can master the character's abilities. The 3D graphics were amazing and the object interaction was great! The comments that the characters make a quite good and very real to the character's personality. X-Men Next Dimension is a great game for all X-men lovers and non-X-men lovers. It is a great way of improving hand-eye co-ordination.

Awesome Game! |

This game is super cool! The graphics are very good for PS2 games. The gameplay is challenging but very fun. You get to play as your favorite X-Men characters in a video game that includes everyone's mutant powers and puts you to the test in multiple modes of gameplay. Incredibley spactacular.

X-Men Next Dimension = Best Game EVER!!! |
| A gamer from Calgary, Canada says (15/Sep/2003): |
This has got to be the most amazing X-Men fighter, I mean mutant academy was just shooting a beam from Cyclops or throwing cards since you max combo was like 4 hits. This one on the other hand has intense combos that can reach around 10 hits, and amazing air combat. Not to mention pretty much double the characters to choose from, and two new unique characters are Blob and Juggernaght who are just massive about 4-5 times the size as the other mutants. The Graphics are more than what I expected of the PS2 version, their simply amazing!! Another thing I love about the game is interaction with the environment such as toad can use his tongue or storm uses her powers. The sound in this game is great and I enjoy the music in the back ground unlike like other games were I mute it. Now for the money make, as most of you know the big thing about mutant academy that made it so popular was of coarse the level 3 special, well they got (drool) level 4 specials!!!! These are just insane on how they can turn the battle to your side. If you’re still reading this, you shouldn't be!!! Get outa your chair and buy the game it's just that amazing!!

DOA meets Tekken 4 |
| nightcrawler rules! from nashville, USA says (25/Jul/2003): |
The name says it all. You can knock your opponets off of cliffs, through doors, and out of buildings. Plus, you can trap them in corners just like in Tekken 4. In addition to that, you can hit them into objects like stairs, electric fields, and computers. And, if you grab your opponet in the right place you can slam their head into something like a pillar or a steel beam.

It's good |
| David Chisnall from London, England says (22/Jul/2003): |
I was in Game one afternoon and saw this game on the shelf. i loved x-men as a child and i thought "why not". I purchased it and took it home. firstly i must point out that the learning curve is increadably high. it WILL take you hours to be able to master the moves to such an extent to be able to actually play this game. also there is no option to play the verses mode on your own. this limits the one player option to the other 4 modes, none of which are a simple, quick fight. these are my only two gripes however, the fighting is great, with each charector having their own set of moves, the music is good although a little loud, drowing out the voice acting at times. the collision detection is up to scratch and the story mode is an inventive story which encorperates the xmen, villans and sentinals. i think this game is largely based on the comics rather than the cartoon as some of the charectors have been re-gigged and changed such as Havok being Cyclop's brother (which was never mentioned in the cartoon.)
all in all, this game is good. not great, not bad, just middle of the road. it is a MUST BUY for the serious xmen fan and a "should buy maybe" for anyone else.
Apart from my first two gripes though, this game is very good.

X-Men Lover from Colorado |
| A gamer from Denver Colorado says (16/Jul/2003): |
I love this X-Men game! It was so cool. This game is awesome because unlike a lot of games you can't beat it in one week! This game takes time to strategise and and fall even deeper in love with X-Men! The characters come to life as you try to beat story mode and stop the Sentinel invasion!
|
It puts the "X" in "X-MEN" |
| Phoenix from Belfast , Ireland says (16/Jul/2003): |
X-Men Next Demension is brilliant in my point of view as I expected a beat-'em-up but got more than that. The story mode gets you in the "X-MEN-mood" and gets you really motivated by listening to another classic story as you go along which makes the story mode and arcade mode like two completely different games.
I gave it a 9 out of 10 because the graphics were superior, the characters were spot on, but I think it lost a mark. I think it is the sole reason that this game was made for men to dominate it. I would find that I would perform super combos on Betsy and take off barely any health off my opponent. If it was Forge, however, one kick or punch is enough to half your life! Well ,enough of the complaining. Apart from that which annoyed me (and was nothing to do with the gameplay) I think this is the best beat-'em-up since Marvel vs. Capcom... and I'm being sincere. ;-)

horrible and stinky-poo |
| gambz from New York, USA says (13/Jun/2003): |
so i think to myself...wow an x-men game with all my fave xmen! thats probably as much fun as i had with the game. the gameplay suxx, the collision acts as if the opponent has a 300 life handicap as well as me have almost no threshold of life to fight with. who is the person that decided to put 8 way direction on the analog and then decide to have jump and duck on the directional paddle. i do not have 3 arms! and jesus what is up with the matches? aren't we supposed to help our fellow mutants out? not fight em? look this isnt worth 50 bucks, its not even worth 10 bucks so do yourself a favor as well as me a favor, unless you are a Diehard 30 year old Xmen fan that just has to get this game get it but if ur a normal 20 year old like me, its not worth it jes let it sit on the shelf at the video game store.
By the way If you read this Marvel, stop with the xmen fighting games and stick with marvel vs. capcom. thank you and goodnight Gayvel

Next Dimension is X-tremely awesome! |
| Siler Head from Florence , USA says (27/May/2003): |
It's got be the best x-men fighter yet . Mutant Academy doesn't even come close in comparison. You can choose the villians or heros to use so that makes it one of the better games. The graphics on it are awesome and it's got a decent soundtrack as well.Ignore the low price because you simply have to have this game.Kick-butt characters like Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and toad are the some people you can play with . The sweet 3D environments make it even better. Trust me, this game ROCKS!
|
This game is X-treme |
| "scopo" from Napperville,IL says (15/May/2003): |
X-Men is like the best mutant vs mutant game. I have all ways loved the X-Men now you can be Wolverive, Nightcrawler, And Best.
The mutant powers, maps, and differnt costumes make this game like no other foghting game I have. From Claws to power rays this game is one gert game and you shold buy it. New and classic costomes make the game more than just the X-Men, but make the X in X-Men X-tream.You can Be a hero or villin to make the fight just like the good old saterday cartoons Wolverine vs Sabertooth,
Nightcrawler vs Mystique. The X-Men have had great fights but now you can makethe villins or the heros win. Nightcrawler is a fast awsome character While Juggernaut is powefull but slow.so all in all this game is one of the best super mutant fighting game unlike no other, so buy X-Men its
X-tream!!!!!!

One of the Best games yet... |
| Amira.C from Aurora,Ohio says (11/May/2003): |
I really was curious about this game because some fighting games have no meaning to it so i didn't want to buy it, but when i did get it. It was like amazing it's like i can't put it down. I really can't beat sentinetal A or is it B but if it was up to me to tell you what games to get you have to make sure you own this one.
|
This game Rocks! |
| Studly from Big Spring, USA says (24/Apr/2003): |
When I was at the store I saw the game kinda cheap, so I thought "naw this game might suck", until my friend got it for the PS2, I knew that I must have it. The combos are great and whoever says its hard, they dont know the meaning of the word "GAME", anyways I give this a 10 great graphics, awesome sound, and just totally cool. By the way I also recomend Eternal Darkeness that's one awesome game as well.
|
This game is junk trash it |
| A gamer from Michigan , USA says (17/Apr/2003): |
I was wondering why it was so bludy cheap. 19$, Gosh this game sucks very badly , terrible graphics , crap sound , it really is boring, you can berly play it for an hour and you get board. Normally I like Xmen , but this game is crap , as i was saying i give it a 1 out 10 , this game is really realy dull as to say of it......It DOesnt even have kool combos or anything , this game really should be disposed of!!!!!!!!!
|
Slow and boring |
| Capcom from Wales says (3/Mar/2003): |
I couldnt wait to play this title as im a massive x-men fan. Unlike the previous x-men games ie. X-men vs street fighter and their apperance in marvel vs capcom 1,2 they were fast, furious and more importantly fun. This title however is rather dull and boring. Sure the story mode has some terrific graphics and the specail moves are simply amazing but this game gets repetative and dosn`t offer much more then simply slow beat em up action which will bore the pants of your mates. Disapointing, after all its Activision, need i say more.
|
TOO DIFFICULT |
| jimmy joe from Calgary Alberta says (1/Mar/2003): |
As i was playing story mode and Arcade mode I found that on the fourth battle I was trying about 12 times and I kept getting beat down!!! I was only able to do about 3 hits on my opponent while they do the same move every time to me!! then I thought maybe the dificulty was medium or hard.... but whats this, nope it;s on easy!! what's the point of medium or hard when easy is insanely impossible, the thing i liked about this game was the specials and interactive levels. but I recommend Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for some really well made fighting games.
|
This game is a must by for any console |
| no one important from not important says (3/Feb/2003): |
I got this game for christmas for my ps2. and it is the best fighting game i have ever played. nothing to hold u back. Awesome powers and the costumes are well done. and the more u unlock out of the game the more fun it is. But what is best about this fighting game is that it is 3D!!!! If u like fighting games this is a must buy.
|
A must have for the Box! |
| KNOX from UK says (20/Jan/2003): |
I picked this little beauty up for £20 in Game I thought I would just give it a go because of the price This is so close to who the characters really are the powers are right & there's some very impresive super moves It's nice to see that somone has stuck to the true height of Wolverine unlike the film! Cars can be destroyed & try kicking your aponent off the top of the building into the signs on buildings close by & watch them farr to the ground followd by loads of glass But it is true they could have chosen some better secret characters but hey perhaps they'll throw some more in there if there's a second one planned This is a must get for the price you can't go wrong
