ok think spyro 4 was the 1st to be realesed onto the playstation 2 all others were on playstation 1 so it was alot harder for game programers to make it i agree it wasn't the best game but the 5th and 6th are alot better and honestly i don't care about glitches so what his head gets stuck in a wall or sumthin like that i don't care unless it effects my gameplay and i have only met 1 bad glitch in this game and that was on the theives den level on the speedway i won and i didn't get a dragonfly but i did it again and i got it. your honestly complaining over nothing and ow exactly is he hard to control? you move the anolg stick and he moves well i pretty much rock at every game i own though but... i like spyro 4 the best because it's loaded with cool glitches like- walk on AIR!! skate on AIR!!! go THROUGH the ice gate without ice breath u just need 20 dragonflys walk in2 a person u can talk 2 not many glitches in that game are bad and moon something pictures did they're best trust me people spyro 5 and spyro 6 are completly glitch free well it may have 1 or 2 but not alot

if the sounds are iretating turn the sound off!!!!! theres is a sound effects switch and THERE IS A BOUNUS LEVEL your just all to stupid to realize 1 that universal didn't make this game and once universal saw how crappy the game was i think they came back and the levels are long.... so there's only 10 levels all the other levels i don't know about you guys but on the games 2-3 i zoomed buy those levels it was eazy the game has 10 levels and TWO!!!!!! thats right tou heard me TWO BOSSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after you complite the game 100% that means all gems AND DRAGONFLYS you get to face riptoe again rember in the 3rd one there was a catch you needed to get all gems and eggs the 2nd boss is the bonus there might be one after that but the 2nd riptoe is kinda hard so i don't know yet

Okay, I'm a hardcore Spyro fan. I have all three previous PlayStation games and I beat them all. In fact, I beat the second one twice, and am currently going to beat the first one again. I thoroughly enjoyed them all and I couldn't wait to get the 4th. Hah! Well imagine my surprise when I found this game to be a load of bull. Controlling Spyro = garbage. Hovering to survive ledges = not in a lifetime. Sound = increasingly annoying. Glitches = I won't even bother to explain how many times the game has frozen on me, how many times his head has gone through something, etc. Camera = trash. Graphics are fine but that is IT. Please, if you have bought this game, immediately proceed to burn it. I rest my case on a very bad game that is not fun to play.

I have never been so bitterly dissapointed. I LOVE the first 3 Spyro's and have played them to death, so you can imagine i was looking forward to something NEW, fun and exciting...so for christmas, i couldn't think of ANYTHING else i wanted for christmas, so i said a playstation 2 and a game or something. Someone please explain to me....WHATS THIS $#< remove me > at !! Whats with the sloooooooooooow loooaaaaaading and being surrounded by glitches, and having to fall off a cliff and die because when he gets too close to an edge he falls off?!? That $#< remove me > at !s me. He was sooo hard to control and that is one of the main things we (my sisters and I) loved about him, that he was easy to control. I am concidering buying Spyro a dragons tail...but i am hesitating after playing such a disapointing game. If anyone has played the most recent Spyro, please let me know weather or not to.

First the loading took to long as every1 says, secondly, no bonus level! Thats all we played for when wer realised how crap it was...What the heck were they thinkin?!?!Third on twoo levels the land disapeared so we wer walking in the air and we couldn't quit so we had to restart the ps2 deleting all our savings. There was only 9 levels and 1 land.The graphics were terrible, the noises irritating. The steerin was difficult.
We were really looking foorward to this when it came out!Wot a let down compared to the other Spyros! Hopefully Heros tale woont be such a let down.

Universal did not make this game,someone else did, because I was reading an interview of one of the Spyro prouducers on the internet about Spyro three. He got asked a question if there is going to be a Spyro 4. He said theres a chance there will be, but it won't be made by Universal. So don't say Universal screwed up because THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. :P. BTW... I din't exactly like Spyro 4. I lied the graphics but I mean, there is only one world and 10 levels and 1 boss. Its just not enough! it isn't much of a challenge!

I think the old spyros were musch better. on spyro enter the dragonfly, you can't get very close to the walls cuz youre held back by an invisible force field. and that "ouch!" spyro always says gets very anoying. The loading is much longer and there are only a few huge levels where in in the other spyros there were many smaller levels. and it sucks that there are not many of the same characters either. And hunter is different too, i liked him the way he was. And there are too many invisible walls and things like that.

Okay, I had played a Spyro game on Gameboy Advance SP ( I have no clue what it is called) but I liked it (mind you I wasn't that good). So when I was at the store I was all like oohh thats a cool game so i bought it, and Im not sorry!! I beat it in around two days. Trying to beat the chalenge portals really ticked me off cuz i didn't know where all the targets were.But in the end i figured it all out!! There were only two things that i totally despised.. One: The loading: never in my life have I played a game on Nintendo 64 or Gamecube that has to load up.. the only system that does need to load are computers. Two:the freezing: I haven't encountered a lot of freezing, but right in the middle of the level it would freeze and then i would freak and think that it was something to do with my Gamecube, but now that i have read your reviews, i know that I'm not the only one!!! Yeah!! But anywayz... besides all that, the game is really great.. and I'm not even a Spyro fan!!

Me myself i have played all of the spyro games, many people say the game lacks but if your a real spyro fan you will enjoy this game.In my point of veiw spyro's graphics were perfect the sound was ok but not quite as good as other spyro games. The sort of lacks as it only has 1 world and 10 levels although in this game you can have more than 1 breath.Spyro takes a long time to load but if your patient its worth while.im not sure how much the games cost because i got mine of ebay.But the games worth however much it costs.

The game was to hard. They could of made it easier than what it is but other than that it was really good.Also the game had alot of fualts because the game would puase when I was fighting a bad guy and then it would unpuase so the bad guy would kill me.Spyro's head looks like it's coming of sometimes and the game would just puase all of the sudden on a level so I would have to turn the game back on and then I would have to rastart the level.The game could have been better.

I just got the game and beat it, although theres not much to it it is a very fun game. i have had no problems with gliches or loading time i think the size of the levels makes up for the fact that there are so few of them. it has vibrent colors and a lot of detail the plot was fine and the challenges were resonable other then that theres nothing wrong with it. it is kinda hard to come up with so many dragon flies but.
it is certainly better then the first games and i hope the company comes out with more

I received a PS2 for X-Mas along with the 4th Spyro game and I couldn't have been happier because my family and me are die-hard Spyro freaks. We own every game known to man and have completed everything in them. Up till this one, though, they were only getting better. If you are a die-hard Spyro fan like myself, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! The $30 is definately not worth it. The company rushed the game so there are glitches beyond glitches, there is only one world with 10 levels (that's the WHOLE game!!!), and after you defeat Ripto, there is no bonus level!!! I was completely and utter;y shocked by the effortless graphics. Spyro is very hard to control. He doesn't turn around easy. If you are close to an edge, you have no choice but to fall off because you can't turn around. Unlike in the last two when you could hover to get to a ledge, sometimes you can't in this one. Spyro will do a head bash and make you fall to your doom!!! No lie. It's not fair and it makes me very irritated and frustrated. In Dragon Dojo, after I caught the dragonfly roaming around the land, you could still hear his wings flapping and the sound wouldn't go away until I left the level. The camera made me feel sick and I didn't want to play it for more than 10 minutes at a time. He would freeze in certain areas when I hadn't even saved it yet. The flights aren't fun. You feel like you just want to get it over with so you could get your dragonfly. In the last 3 games I always wanted to go back to play the time trial with my family to beat there times. I can't do that now because I don't even know if I can finish it without turning around to go find something I accidentally skipped because Spyro was being hard to steer. I absolutely hated this game. It was a waste of money and a disapointment to the Spyro series. I dispise this game in every way mostly because after you completely finish the game (even after defeating Ripto for the second time) there is nothing at the end to look forward to. It's horrible. I'm disgusted with this one. The only reason I finished it was to get a bonus level or something. I didn't get anything but end credits. Lick my foot, Spyro...and Sparks too.

the loading, my gran's 200th birthday, the graphics, my 0 year old cousin's worst drawing, if i really had the choice, i would give this game a 0. even my sister thought this game was the worst, my brother got sick and tired and i even admit that the 1st one was better... ok, that was a bit overegzagerating.my hint,do not buy the game!!!

Well honestly ... i don't ahve spyro 3 yet BUT... i have Ratchet and clank and I think that game was .. weird and hard Its about a Cat and a robot Like at least a dragon and a dragonfly made sence like common you guys ... well I'll have to see if This spyro is any good but i hope they make more because i love spyro but i heard that there not going to ... which really sucks ... because i'm a big fan !!!

I looked forward to buying this game but was highly disipointed once I did. The loading took 12 years and it does nothing but freeze up and have all sorts of little tics and glitches.
The plot of the game was extremely lacking. The levels were too long and the challenge was nill. The first games were great. Whoever made this one is a dolt. If you want to throw your controller through the screen of your TV I recomend this game, otherwise don't waste your time or money.

Sypro has always been a fun game that was easy with only a little difficulty making it a good game for families. While this game was by far the best with graphics anf colors, when it came to the plot and underlying theme it is lacking. The best one, in my opinion, was the second game. The first one was the first so of course it was not the best. And the third one was annoying with the little eggs. It is that way with the dragon flies. I liked how when you got a tailisman or an orb you did not have to listen to the names or descriptions of them. But the last one is still fun to play! I would definately recommend it to other Sypro lovers!

I am 53 and I just got a year older waiting during the loading process in this game. It's too slow even for me. Whoever is responsible for this disaster, poo on you, shame on you. You would have to be between the ages of 5 and 10 not to be annoyed.

Now I'm not the best at playing video games, and I have only played Ripto's Rage, But I can tell you this game is great. I agree that it takes a little longer 2 load. I love the new breathes and how u can hover. The challenge is pretty good, its hard yet easy enough so u don't get mad. Finding dragonflies is the hardest part. I do all the challenges, look around all the levels but still I can't find all the dragonflies. Over-all this game rocks! ^_^

This game is so full of glitches it should never have been released! The game freezes up time after time and you must reset and resume play, losing all progress. The audio sometimes becomes silent and at other times is a loud roar. The video also will go haywire and you will have movement in the game that doesn't belong and makes play very difficult. The loading time is so tediously long it is laughable. These people do not know what they are doing! Do NOT buy this game!

Well, it is true that the graphics and the music, the whole impression of the game is much better than in the older games, but this is totally normal because their techniques improve every year, and of course the new abilities are fun. The problem is: that's pretty much it!I was just shoked about how bad the game was programmed, there are still a lot of bugs in it, it gets stucked all of sudden, what never happened in the other spyros, I already had a part of a world disappearing (water, hills and people gone, just some flowers and trees left, hanging in nothing),spyro hits invisible walls while running and walks as slowly as a snail on valium. And don't get me started on the loading. The game also is more boring than the other ones and there are no real challenges anymore. All in one, the game level is just not the same anymore and the only way to rate it positively is to see it as not belonging to the Insomania Spyros. But even then...
