GO SENS GO!36433

WarLoCk from Ontario, Canada says (1/Dec/2003):
NHL 2003 from EA Sports was a great dissapointment.
It's just too damn easy. I don't know what the other guy meant who commented down the page a bit about not being able to WIN!
Well I win...I'm sick of winning...I would like a challenge...the only challenge I do get is when I play my friends. The computer is no challenge at all on any game level.
I can play the game on Pro and still win (eg. 15-4) every damn game. I have not yet had the chance to play NHL 2004, which I hope is a great improvement.

Go Leafs35749

A gamer from Yarmouth says (21/Nov/2003):
Ok this game has great graphics but there are to things I think should be different one in NHL 2002 before a game you could make the two teams goalies great and the same with the players in NHL 2003 there a hanicap thing. I liked it the way in 2002 because there was chances to get a shutout and some closer games. The scores in my seasons are like 20-4 and 12-7 and lots more. Two im glad to see you have Jody Shelley in this game cause he is a hometown boy but you dont have a lot of the other guys in the Q like Luke Pelham and Sidney Crosby I hope in 2004 you will but more of them in because in a season I run out of players because of injureies and i wish there were more players from St.Johns Maple Leafs! Good luck making an other game!

Gameplay really sucks!31859

Asamanthinketh from Nashville says (12/Sep/2003):
OK...I've been buying NHL from EA Sports since the original game came out. I have NEVER been disappointed...UNTIL NOW!
What happened to the fast action and excitement of the gameplay itself. Though the graphics are great the actual gameplay really sucks. The computer AI is totally unrealistic.
The buttons are sometimes unresponsive, and if you play against the computer on ANY AI level you can plan to LOOSE.
YOU WILL NEVER WIN!
I've gone back to NHL 2002, at least you can have a great COMPTITIVE game...sometimes you win ,..sometimes you loose...but it's up to how you play. In NHL 2003, you can count on unrealistic goals from the AI everytime.
Come on EA SPORTS...you can do better than that. Hopefully 2004 will be better. LOL!

Hockey Rules and so does NHL²ºº³27336

NHL_FAN_DèDÖmïÑïç from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, USA says (7/Jul/2003):
Okay, here's the REAL skinny on EA's NHL 2003 for the Game cube. I had really high hopes for this game. My buddy's got it for the PS2 and I couldn't find a flaw in it throughout the many hours that we played one-on-one. Little did I know that the GC version totally blew chunks! Don't get me wrong, the graphics are still great, the loads of options are there...every bit of content is totally satisfying. What this game REALLY lack is responsive gameplay. I already lost track of the missed goal scoring opportunities just in the first period of play becuase when I pressed (A) to pass it DIDN'T PASS!!! This is a HUGE problem when trying to set up those crucial one-timers! Now, don't start thinking that I'm just some whiny brat that can't get a pass off before getting hit, because this problem often arises when there's not even an opposing player around to hit me. An attempted one-timer turns into the wrong player simply winding up for a slapshot at the wrong time and the wrong angle. I've been playing EA's NHL games since NHL '93. I've played them on the SNES, PS2, PC, and now have encountered so much of a disappointment that I've started to question my loyalty to EA. I'm gonna try out Sega's NHL 2k3...it couldn't be much worse than this. I kow I gave this game a 5 out of 10...but I should really give it a 1 because it sucks so bad. I'm just kidding that game was the best it was nooo disapointment lol I loved the game EA realy helped and did a nice and wonderful job on NHL and on NHL 93' back then the graphics may have not been that well but it was a great game for back then. I have collected alot of hockey games for PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Game Cube and X-box and I think the PSX2 is the best for NHL games like I have NHl 03' 02' 00' 98' 96' and 93 thos games are good but the best one is 03' GOOD JOB EA SPORTS!!

GREAT GAME!!!!27049

Avalanche Fan from Ontario, Canada says (3/Jul/2003):
I would like to say on what a great job EA has done on NHL 2003. The game is great becouse of all the new dykes and goalie movements. The new "dynamic dyke is also cool but i it doesnt become that much of a use. The milestons are cool, and i think i am talking for many people when i say this "there should also be a record book with records that can be broken". The graphics have really inproved since 2002, the sound and the choice of songs is just FANTASTIC!! Although i have afew more suggestions, the franshise mode is also great but it would be even better if u had actual contracts for players, and it would also be great if you could trade draft pick fo players like in real life.Over all.. GREAT JOB!!

Add A New Idea23094

Joe M Sauro from Magnolia,USA says (8/May/2003):
The game is great i have it for playstation 2 and i love that game but they only thing that i would like to see is that they would have the All-Star Compention where you would get to hit the targets and the breakaways on the goalies and all that good stuff they do the night before the All-Star game

Better Franchise Mode22744

Bill Copeland from Calgary, Alberta, Canada says (2/May/2003):
Overall the game is pretty good but it is too easy to get a stacked team. I wish you would put in a way to sign players to contracts, similar to Madden, and have salary Caps. I hate losing players unexpectedly to free agency when i want to keep them. I hope for a better franchise for 2004. Overall though good job.

the best hockey game ever!19750

frank longley from Toronto, Ontairo, Canada says (23/Mar/2003):
this game was harder then the last ones because of the amazing goalies and the more improved gameplay such as the new ''game breaker'' mode. the game needs too keep uptodate before you buy it thought because i hate haveing to fix the teams up before I start and the hitting could be a bit better but I do believe this game is the best hockey game yet, but it could be better!

Amazing Game!!18572

Hinto from Oxford says (3/Mar/2003):
I've just brought this game and am now hooked. I thought that the goalie AI was far better than previous games where it was just to easy to score. The music for the game is good and the commentary is vary enougth that you keep hearing new bits even after playing for a long time. The francise(spelling?) mode is good if you want a season but still a bit lacking. I LUV the card idea, it gives you something to do in the easy to win games and helps you practice scoring different goals and big hits. San Jose rules. Welldone EA.

NHL 2003 is great!16297

Jon from Virginia Beach ,USA says (25/Jan/2003):
I like the new AI for the goalies. I wish EA would put alittle more time into the franchise mode (like Madden 2003). Then I would have made this a 10. The overall game play and graphics are great! Good job EA! Always a KING FAN!!!

Best Game on Earth14403

Frank Oehler from Toronto, Canada says (1/Jan/2003):
This is quite possibly the best NHL I have played in my life. Compared to the Sega Sports NHL 2k3, this EA Sports games blows it out of the water. The game play is top notch, the graphics are great, and the announcing is outstanding. You can go so in depth and in such detail, making this the best game on earth.

Great Gameplay...Disappointing Franchise Mode14311

Dave from SoCal says (31/Dec/2002):
The gameplay is awesome. The new 'gamebreaker' feature is just what it needed. Goalies are much smarter and agile...you see a lot more butterfly and other realistic positions. While the gameplay is good, I thought the franchise mode was disappointing. The rosters are composed of next to zero young stars. As a Kings fan I was disappointed to find this out, as it lacks Mike Cammelieri and Alex Frolov. Should have had their corresponding AHL teams for stocking the youngsters. Free-agency sucks...you can get anyone and there's no salaries. Although there's no cap in hockey, EA should have at least put in a budget or something of the sort. The draft was also disappointing. Half the drafted guys names aren't said during the game and you can't trade up/down in the draft. I find the simulation a little unrealistic...example...In my first year, I simmed wanting to get to the draft. Atlanta won the East...yeah, Atlanta. What's worse is Kovalchuk had a +34 and Heatley was +27. Ridiculous. Graphics were good, especially the pre-faceoff & pre-game extras. The announcers were lame...that's the only word I could think of to describe it. Music is nice...I just can't find GOB's "Sick With You" anywhere. Overall, the game was decent, but I'm looking for more next time, including a much better franchise mode in the next game. Anyways, Happy New Years to all. Go Kings.
