They should have it more on land |
| Dylan Graveline from USA, Massachusetts says (25/Feb/2008): |
The legond of Zelda one of the most populor games ever but sometimes there are games they make were its not all that good. Dont get me rone or anything its fun and all but the normal Zelda game has all of the levels on land. Pluss you need to ride to places for a while. What basecly took my time of playing is going from one place to another because the king of red lions ship is kind of slow. The grafics are also kind of wierd in the wind waker. Im a big Zelda fan but this one wasnt thier best. They could of made it alot better and one thing I noticed is that you can get the 1000 rupe bag befor you even get the 500 rupe bag. I do have to admit the wind temple boss and the dragon roast temple boss were pritty cool but come on the other two a fat goast and a big flower you can do better than that. And whats with the pupet thing thats the lamest idea ever. The god temple boss is just the same thing that they use in other games the two hands and the head. Ganon, they did pritty good on fighting him was kind of fun.So a tip for you Zelda fans Go for the Zelda games were ther isnt water everwere you look.

not great, but enjoyable |
| Maz from Lynwood, USA says (23/Jun/2007): |
To me Wind Waker wasn't very Zelda-like. (But at least it's more Zelda-esque than Twilight Princess.) I didn't like the fact that some little kid was wandering around in retarded Link-alike get up. I would have enjoyed it more if the character appeared older, or at least aged, like in Ocarina of Time. I think the biggest problem with this game is that - the characters. They all appear either young or rather cutesy, which I didn't like. The monsters were all pretty silly looking, except for maybe a boss or two, which made it less intense. This aside, I liked the game. The whole traveling the sea ordeal was aggravating (and I got mad when I couldn't find a fish) and took awhile, but it was worth it. Some dungeons seemed to drag on, but they were all challenging in some way. The game over all wasn't very difficult, yet when it came to entering places it forced you to think outside the box. (The Wind Temple entrance took me a while.) In my opinion it was fun to do the extras, like find merchants and go to certain islands during a phase of the moon. I started playing this game for a quick, meaningless something to beat, but it surprised me with its length. And not to mention, the Ganon battle was AWESOME!

It's so life like |
| Sakuno from USA says (6/Mar/2007): |
The wind waker is so cool!Even though there are fictional things in this game it has so many realistic things like the characters and their own personalities. People might say it's an easy game but dont believe them, it's harder then it looks.I've been playing since chrismas and am only in one forth of the game! The hardest things for me to beat is the zombies. They may look dead and useless their not! The try to knaw your head and scream to stun you. If this happens press a and b while trying to run away, that should unstun. Then it will run in cicles, jump while L-targeting then take action. The game is very hard, especially the earth and wind temple! If you get stuck trying to get back in forskaken fortress a second time look for a cheap woode door and bust it up with your bombs then run in the middle of the circle area and fight phantom Ganon.Use your sword to hit the balls of light back at him. you should get the skull hammer. Then run off to the side hit the spikes and be happy you don't have to sneak around any more. soon after if you don'thurry you'll be anbushed by devils then you know the way but if you see a purple hole on the ground don't be grabbed by the hand that comes out of it if you are you'll be put in a different part of the dungeon!

Link is awesome! |
| Charles from Richmond, U.S.A. says (27/Apr/2005): |
Okay, I remember playing the original LOZ back in the 80's when I was a kid. I moved on since then and got a GameCube for Christmas of 2004. Then, I went out and bought Wind Waker because I remember how fun LOZ was. This game is SO fun. Everything from getting the hero's equipment to regaining the power in the Master Sword is great (and defeating Ganon of course). I especialy like how he can do that roll attack thing when he rolls around the enemy and cuts 'em up. I do that every chance I get 'cause I think it's so cute. What's even cooler is how Zelda actually helps out in the end with her light arrows until Ganon smacks the snot out of her (which is way uncool, because you should never hit girls). I guess that's all, but the only thing is that Tingle kinda got on my nerves. I like how Link responded to everything that happened. That makes the game much more interesting. The music has always been great in the Zelda games I think. I went back to the Wind and Earth temples to see how Medli and Makar were doing but they don't speak to you. They just play those instruments and I'm like, "Hello, remember me?"....rude. Guess they have to do that w/o pause for the rest of eternity. There's my review. Wind Waker and LOZ games in general are wonderful.

It's the worst Zelda Game ever! |
| Daniel from Torreon, Mexico says (26/Apr/2005): |
A Sailor? Cartoons? please!!!!! that's all I have to say. Now, the Zelda Game coming for 2005 fall looks great that's what everyone was expecting... to everyone else saying that this is the best zelda ever, they've probably never played any other Zelda, or are 8 year olds that love Super Mario Gay Bros. as well. And it's ok, but don't dare comparing this crappy looking game to a game like Ocarina of Time that is if not the greatest one of the best games of the Zelda saga. Again... "cartoons?" please! After the great fight between ganondorf and link that nintendo showed on an E3 to show the power of the GameCube they gave us THIS it was a huge disappointment, that's why no one really talks about this game any more, they (nintendo) want it to be forgotten. If the game were really a success more games like it would be announced, but the truth is that there is a game comming with the plot, graphics and LINK! that everyone wants to see. Link is a hero, similar to a kinght not a sailor going from island to island in a flooded world, please!

I beat it 23 times before so hahaha to you suckers nana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Hayden from canada says (19/Apr/2005): |

Wind Waker, I don't know, It's well you know, the greatest game ever!!!! |
| Kenny Blitz from Ancaster, Canada says (11/Apr/2005): |
The legend of Zelda the Wind Waker is so fun!! The game goes on for hours of fun and the sword play is so cool!!!!!!!! You can do all of these back flips and rolling attacks and side jumps with these awsome sword moves like the parry attack and spin attack. Plus the items are wicked like the boomerang and arrows.
The bosses are really easy but fun (considering I've beaten every boss so far the first time I battled them). And you sail alot and can explore the whole ocean and look for underwater treasure! There are 2 yes 2 whole rupee upgrades which allow you to carry up to, get this 5000 rupees!!!!!!!!! And 2 bomb and arrow upgrades. The game is also a cheap price in Canada and the USA. BUY BUY BUY! You need this game you can't live a proper life without it. I'm telling you it is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!
Face it this game is the best game I've played since I was born. In fact any Zelda game is good. The graphics are good unless you run into a wall and the camera is showing your face. But the music when your battling a boss is fantastic. The best thing that I liked most about the Wind Waker is that you can L-target an enemy and do brutal damage. There are a few hard parts but it will come eventually. All in All this game rocks!
|
from then to now the legend will go on |
| Gaming anonymous from Moose horn,Canada says (4/Mar/2005): |
OH MY GOD I HAVE NEVER PLAYED SUCH AN EXCELLENT LEGEND OF ZELDA GAME EVER AND I MEAN IT!!! any how this game is the best!I personly liked the puzzle solving the adventuring but most of all the treasure hunting i never ever thought that they would bring that sort of thing in that just put a big hole in the "tradition" of the game you know what i'm saying in all the other games you just do the major quests and stuff like that pick up a side quest or two play a few mini-games buy equipment and then so on an so forth but in this one you have all the time in the world of zelda to do what ever you want like collect all the treasure in the sea (you at least have to get 8 certain treasure no matter how much you neglect it).what i don't like about the game is it's just to short not enough temples i say it is just to short but the treasure hunts will take you a while.all the zelda games i played are all to easy exept for the super nintendo one that one is really tricky.any how later days.

not zelda like. |
| A gamer from indana says (1/Feb/2005): |
In zelda the wind waker you can go to lots of isands but i think they should have let you gone to hyrule feild of somthing.and the game is not really much of a zelda game i mean the court yard looks nothing alike to the castle courtyard in zelda ocrina of time.and were on earth is hyrule castle town????why is ganons tower so close by????i think it is kinda boring in hyrule and i wish you could GET A BIGGER BOAT!and link can not ware any other clothes.its kinda not zelda like at all!well anyway i like dragon rosst isand but not much others.ther are only 3 shops on the most merchent like isand!?and not a single weapon shop or anything!i like the only zelda like thing the tower of the gods.and nothing makes sense!so............................i think it reallly needs some improven and stuff.i like older zelda games more then the new ones.anyway i think that ther needs to be more swords and sheilds aswell maybe new clothes or somthing i just hate the outfit link wears!in the first game and the seconbd playthrough!!!!!!!!!!

From the N64, To the Nentenido GameCube, the legend goes on. |
| BIG TIME ZELDA FAN says (19/Jan/2005): |
I absoluty love the Wind Waker. It is was one opf the best Zelda games I had ever played. Who am I kidding, it is the best Zelda game of 2004. I even completed the game without the need of a walkthrough. This is a pretty easy and fun game. Plus, Link is alot more funnier than he was back in the N64 games. It has been awhile however since I last played it because I got games like Metriod Prime 2, and Soul Calibur 2, but still I keep that game in my mind because it is the best Zelda game ever. Four Srowds made no sense at all, And the minish cap looks completey stupid. Only the Wind Waker actually is cool. From finding sunken treasure, to boating over creatures, to finding the triforce, and to whacking the heck out of creatures, only the wind Waker can make you do so many things in one game. Purchasing vital equipment, taking part in an auction, if your a big time Zelda fan like me, you'll want to jump in the car right now and get this game into your Zelda collection. Link is a much better fighter in this game. He actually is allowed to do combos with he's attacking. Plus as I said before, Link is alot more funnier in this game than he was before. Plus we get to see Link's sister. Lot of new stuff to see. So get the game right now.
That means NOW! GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

charts, treasures and maps should be all updated as you play |
| A gamer from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia says (16/Dec/2004): |
I'm a 48year old female mum who loves Zelda. I used to get my son to do the bosses, but I can now do them myself. I love the game but found the sailing boring. I also prefer to have target numbers of treasures to find, after finding the 40th treasure chest in a row with a jewel has no meaning when your wallet is full and there seems to be a limitless supply of chests to find. If you knew there were 200 or whatever and you'd only found 150 or 15 of the 20 in an area then the 40th in a row would still be ok within the bigger picture. The same with the charts, finding a heart chart is terrific except that half way through the game when you have found many hearts already, makes these charts useless because you don't know which ones you've already done. Especially for me as I often forget. (I did say I was 48 didn't I). I have found all shards, got the light arrow, completed most islands, platforms, submarines, and all temples. I am missing about 5 treasure maps that I'm still looking for and have most figurines. I think I need two more hearts but who knows as there is no reference to find out. I've just got two less than the top row.
If you could see how badly I play ---- this is some feat. My son is always laughing at me as I fall off platforms and misjudge leaps. My arm currently hurts from playing and I dream most nights of needing to find something else in my distorted Zelda dreams. I love flying as a seagull and spent ages flying until I felt like 'I' was really flying. What I really love about games is that although when playing you know that it is only a game, six months later my memories of being in game worlds are identical to my memories of being in the real world.
I love finding things, the puzzles and exploring more than the fighting but there is some satisfaction when you finally beat a difficult monster.

Most Addicitve Game...Ever. |
| Ash aka Prongseh! from Jersey, US says (10/Dec/2004): |
Now being that I'm not much of a Zelda fan since the Super Nintendo version, this was quite the turnaround for me. This game had me up for practically days at a time, it was so addictive! And as for all of you who say it has bad graphics, well forget you! The graphics are great! Especially the fairies and goddessed with the pearls. It was absolutely breathtaking. Now, I got stuck when you have to get the ice/fire arrows, but I just recently found what to do, so I have to continue playing. But so far the game has been both entertaining, funny, and challenging. Very puzzling as well. It's just great and I reccomend it to anyone who's up for a good challenge...the rewards are great! If you are stuck and need any tips on the game from the beginning to the point where you have to get the upgrades on the arrouws, feel free to email me. I'm on alot and I'm glad to help those in need =) This game is so awesome so I'll tell you right now if you like free-range games with great graphics and awesome enemies then go out right now and get Windwaker, You won't regret it!

This game brings the house down!!!!!!! |
| A gamer from paris says (9/Dec/2004): |
This game rocks and I hope that all future games for Zelda can compete to beat this!! It took me forever to beat it but that's what makes the game so fun, I mean come on if you can beat a game in 3 days it's a piece of crap so this game is way awesome.
I espeicially like the part where you can just travel anywhere and do anything you want I mean the area is huge and it just has so many surprises you just don't know what your gonna find.
The gadgets are awesome because they are updated and look alot better and the boss aren't too hard yet their still challenging so it pretty dang good!!! The best part though I think is that the makers still found a way to keep the games goin' on strong. The graphics some people say stink but having those type of graphics I think are some of the best qualities a game can have! Being able to have classic graphics that still look good!
The story line was a little confusing but later you started to understand it and it made alot of sense. (At least to me anyway)Anyway this game was great I hope there'll be more!!!!!

One Word: REVOLUTION! |
| A gamer from Massachusetts, USA says (23/Nov/2004): |
This game is fantastic in nearly every way! No one should listen to the idiots who actually have the nerve to dismiss themselves as gamers talking crap about the graphical style, for the cell-shading in this game is indeed a lively and vibrant style, the haters of this game need to grow up and learn respect for true video games, like the Wind Waker itself! The only REAL downside would have to be the sailing, it's a unique way of travel, but the whole wind-changing thing makes it get a little old and slow-paced, anyone would prefer horse-back riding like in OOT and MM. I don't think that's worth taking off any points though. Also early enough in the game, it will become unarguably clear that WW's combat is no doubt the best they've had in a Zelda game yet! Along with the lively cast of caracters, great dungeon designs, a few farmiliar references, easy-to-solve but fun-to-do puzzles, and of course, the ever so wide variety of extra items and equipment bring this game WAY beyhond a 10!
So overall: Forget the whole "worst game ever" and "crappy cartoon graphics" bullsh!t, take a real gamer's advice, and give the game a try, the last thing you'll be is disappointed! Not even the last!
|
I like the game |
| Alex from Cleveland, Ohio says (1/Oct/2004): |
The game is not bad in fact I like it. I have a friend who has Ocarina of time. I like it too but the graphics are worse.
Anyways if you make another Zelda game maybe you could name it
The Legend of Zelda "meeting of the great heroes". In that game you should add to the storyline something like this:After the Hero of the winds had save the land in the great sea he has also destroyed hyrule , but one day the hero of time came back and took the portal from Termina instead it landed him in the depths of the future where the hero of the winds existed and so on. Going off the subject I really like windwaker. Hope my addition to the storyline helps you make the future new Zelda game.
I'll have everyoneone know that I LOVE ZELDA GAMES MORE THAN EVERYONE ELSE. I rate the games 10 stars. I also hope that on Zeldauniverse.com you actually put hints and cheats beacause all it says is zelda games on sale blah blah blah. I beat windwaker twice already can you belive it. I just can't resiest windwaker.
I also like ocarina of time. I like it when you play songs to warp almost anywhere (especially the temple of time so you can become young link or adult link at any time).

The Wind Waker is THE BEST! |
| Sarah from Tri-Cities, USA says (6/Sep/2004): |
The Ledgend of Zelda, the Wind Waker is THE BEST GAME EVER! This is a MUST HAVE gamecube game. The graphics are awesome! The dungeons are very challenging and fun to complete. People say the Ocarina of Time is better, but I sincerely think the WW is a bit better. The six temples on Oot can get boring, the WW has the perfect amount of dungeons as well as the Earth and Wind Temples. I think the Wind Temple is the Hardest of all the dungeons. I had to look for help on the internet the first time I completed it. The other Zelda games that date way back to 1987 are lots of fun too. I'm trying to collect them all! All you Zelda fans, this is a MUST HAVE Zelda game for your collection! It's not JUST FOR KIDS! (some people think that because it doesn't look as realistic as the other Zelda games) My friend's dad plays it and he's like, in his 40's and he loves it! The characters in the WW are very funny and (sometimes) helpful! Some are even NECESSARY to beat the entire game! (Like Medli and Makar for the Earth and Wind Temples) Overall, the WW is THE GREATEST Zelda game ever made. Great job Nintendo, this game is AWESOME!

Good, But quite a few kinks. |
| SalaMENCE2 from Jacksonville, North Carolina says (27/Aug/2004): |
Ok, so I got Wind Waker from my cousin. It looked good, and I played it constantly. It was a good game, but the only problem was the graphics. I mean, come on! What idiot would make Link look like an cartoon?! And the bomb blasts, smoke, and other things with the "Cute" swirls look so fake. They must think that making him a cartoon must interest new players! And all of you people giving very low ratings for the game, I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU MAKE A GAME, THEN HAVE THE COURAGE TO PRESENT IT TO EVERYONE!!! Ahem... Anyways, besides the also-repetitive music, which can get very annoying, it seemed like a good game. With the keyword "seemed". I mean, the beginning of most games are usually easy, right? But they make it so hard in the Forsaken Fortress, that little beginners can't get past the first part! And then, the bosses near the end are much more easier than the bosses near the first part! (In my point of view) And it had only about (5?) real dungeons. Most Zelda games, for example: A Link to the Past, had about, let say....... 13!! I know about what I said a little while ago, but being a professional game company, they should've put a little more effort into the game! That's all I have to say. Peace.

About boses of Zelda!!!!!!! |
| Jonathan from Fontana ca. United States says (27/Jun/2004): |
The Legend of Zelda is the hardest game I ever played.I didn"t blink once while I was playing. On the first boss I thought about the Great Vallcoos tail then I thought about every item in the staghts screen and I chose the grappling hook so I got his tail and swang off and I kept on doing it until I beat him.And then I got a piece of heart. On the way on the second boss I met the Koroks."They taught me how to use the deku leaf and I traveled to the forest.I beat the boss got another piece of heart and traveled to Hyrule. This was tough all the rooms are puzzleing and after all the rooms your bow and arrow should hit his eyes and your bombs should go in his mouth and when you beat him he will tell you that a gateway will be opened. After ring the bell with the grappling hook.So I hope you like my advice and Nintendo keep up the great work your doing a good job and get ready to make a new exiting great good game for all of us kids and all of you adults.
