zelda 3 |
| geoffrey john jones from united kingdom says (20/Nov/2003): |
i think this zelda is the best. ok its hard because you've got to go and everything but its still the best. i have completed 1,2 and now this 1. i think this is a very good game because its graphics are cartoony and are good for little kids to play this instead of causing trouble. once again its da bomb. i think the second was good aswell also the first. i thnk the first was really good because you had all the temples to do i liked the shadow temple the best what about you ?

you will mess yourself at the awesomness of this game |
| swordstalker521 from Lakeland, USA says (9/Jan/2003): |
for the first thing to say.... i can not believe how well the graphics work with the cel shading. many people did not give this look a moments thought at the first look, but it is a very interesting and works well with the underlying effect of the overall game. the controls for the game are kind of clumsy at first but easily become second nature. the item system in the game is inovative and is much less akward than you might think. the pure realism of the game as far as emotion and interaction with the other characters is as humanlike as you can get. overall this is one of the best games on the gamecube. the extra disc that you get for preorder is definitely worth the extra money to preorder, not only do you get OoT but you also get OoT:The Master Quest. if you have a gamecube you MUST get this game and add it to your library.

Graphics downgraded to N64 level |
| WraithLeader from Oak Harbor, USA says (19/Jan/2003): |
The game has the usual storyline and all the stuff we know and love about Zelda. The controls are hard at the start but you get use to it after a while. The real problem is the graphics stink comapared to what you see in the E3 Expo to a "better" cell-shaded approch. Its worth a whirl if you have nothing better to do

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker |
| Ralph C from Waltham Massachuesetts USA says (4/Mar/2003): |
The Legend has to be the freshes and the hottest game out there everwhere u look there will be comments that the graphics are horrible. Excuse me let me ask u a question where in the world have u seen cel shading graphics like that. Hmmmm let me think no where stupid. Anyways it does matter what they say the facts are that this games is extremly addictive and very very unique and no another game matches its flavor. If u want to be another same old fanal fansty story go buy Ps2 or worst yet the so called "All might Xbox" wow three great games. If u want a game that will go down in history and sell a million Nintendo has what your looking for.I personally think the graphics are sick and i haven't seen anything that mathces it yet. One more question beside the graphics what is wrong with the game, although as i said before the graphics are unbelivable crisp, smooth, and fresh. It's like watching a disney slash anime movie in one, with a story only Lord of the rings could match. If u don't belive me why is everyone write about it because zelda is the best series every made. Yet most people are two face all talk on the computer but when it comes down to it they're gonna buy it anyways. But what can i say this game is sick and rightfully deserves a perfect 10. P.S. did i mention that in Japan the game got a perfect prior to the wind waker only 3 other games had gotten a perfect ten. Guess what the last game to get it was........ yeah that right Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time. Yeah and 1 what now got anymore to say haters. Just Bring it.

new game old bosses |
| Josh parrish from springville alabama USA says (11/Mar/2003): |
this has to be the best zelda game of all although the i say that for every zelda game. this game is nearly perfect i mean the graphics, the game play, every thing. exept the bosses. some bosses are or are like bosses from other zelda games like the 3rd boss from ocarina of time is the ultimate deku baba and also phantom gannon.also i've only played the demo but when i did i could'nt let go.

Why did the site place it under PlayStation??? |
| Cody says (12/Mar/2003): |
Let me sart by saying, have you people even seen this game in action or just screen shots? If you haven't then you should be asshamed to judge it before seeing how smooth and detailed the animation really is, it's like playing a cartoon! I admit it does look abit... ok... very childish, but it has a graphic engine that N64 could just never do, so it is far from a downgrade in graphics. And besides, since when is our society so based on graphics anyway/ you people should be ashamed! When did we sacrifice gameplay for graphics? Was it playstation? N64? maybe it started with Mario RPG on the Super NES? The fact is that no one, not even I, can judge this game as amazing r terrible untill we've played it, because in the end it all depends on the way it plays, not the way it looks. So I don't know about you, but I have mine pre-ordered, and I'm getting it in exactly two weeks from when I write this, and don't you owe the legend that is Zelda atleast a rental?

The greatest Gamecube game |
| Link from Winnipeg ,Canada says (21/Mar/2003): |
This game is absolutely the best game I ever played. the cel-shading works amazingly with the game. And all you guys who think the cel-shading sucks, well i think you are just stupid. If anyone hasn't reserved it you should, itis amazing. It rules!
|
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! |
| vin from Mt. Kisco, NY, USA says (27/Mar/2003): |
Dude whats with you guys the cel-shading graphics are awesome just because you guys look at the screen shots u judge it as like one of those old jap games to sega or somthing the graphics Are AWESOME the gameplays incredible id give this game 100 stars ive had it for 1 nights and already upsessed with it great game!! :)

the only reason it's good is cuz it has alot to do with the triforce |
| A gamer from altoona, wi usa says (29/Mar/2003): |
ok i liked ocarina but i would have been way better with the triforce more involved- majora's mask what the hell was up with that, they didnt even mention the triforce!! Thats what the whole series is about- the wind waker acommplished that goal so good for it but now if they would have kept the same graphics like in ocarina just enhanced they would have hit a home run
|
Stick to the basics! |
| Josh from Houston, USA says (31/Mar/2003): |
Ok, so Ocarina of Time was pretty kick ass. And everyone loved the graphics in that game for its time. Nintendo really sucked it up with the cel shading thing. They really should have stuck to the Ocarina of Time Link. Once you get passed the look of it all, it is actually a pretty fun game. Probably one of my favorites so far this year. They brought Zelda back to a more Triforce involved plot which made it much more enjoyable than that pile of crap Majora's mask. Overall, I'd have to say that the game itself is pretty addicting and intense. It didnt take me long to forget about the look of the characters because the game drew me in.

Totally Awesome, But need some help |
| Tony from Plymouth, USA says (2/Apr/2003): |
First of all, this game totally rocks and is probably one of the best games that has come out for Gamecube. Also The graphic design isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, because once you start getting into the game you really don’t notice it all that much. Anyway, the real reason why I’m on here is to ask for a little help. I can’t figure out how to catch an updraft with the Deku leaf in order to get into the second temple. I know how to change the wind and everything, but I haven’t been able to get those darn updrafts. I only tried like 4 times to get it, but I had to go to work. Does it just take some practice? Any advice I will give a shot at just so I’m not stuck there for 30 minutes or whatever. Any who, I must say that going back to the triforce was a nice change. The whole Majora’s Mask thing was, I think, a bad part on Nintendo. The story line is also a great new addition to the game as well. It involves all of the old characters, but like in the future. This is by far the best Zelda game ever created so far by Nintendo, and is going to be a tough one to top. I would highly recommend this game to any person who likes Zelda, or adventure games.

This game is the worst Zelda game ever made! |
| Austin from Sterling Heights, MI, USA says (6/Apr/2003): |
Dude this game was so bad. Sailing across an ocean was so stupid and annoying and the graphics were stupid. They could have done a better job with this game. Ocarina of Time is such a great game and this game is nothing compared to it. Ganon looked retarded and the whole story of the game was stupid. There was only two temples and that made the game really dumb. There were only four bosses to fight and they were all looked dumb. I don't recommend that anybody buys this game. The only thing that I recommend is that you get the free game that came with it if you can even find it anywhere.

Zelda: Wind Waker well worth the money |
| Mandy from Stoke On Trent England says (14/May/2003): |
Having bought this game for my boyfriend i wasnt expecting to enjoy it as im used to my x box. The graphics of this game are superb, the look of the game would suit kids and adults alike ( my 7 year old loves it) and can be played on two levels my younger daughter likes to go searching for rupees and killing the monsters while myself and my boyfriend like to rush on to the next bit of the game. The story line behind the game makes it fun and interesting. This is one addictive game that me, my boyfriend and my kids couldnt put down!

Snowies Review |

The Wind Waker's a winner in my book! |
| Brittany from Lebanon, Tennessee, USA says (2/Jun/2003): |
I really like this game! It's challenging, fun, and unique from the rest of the Zelda line, with new monsters, sailing, and a whole new look! The only bad thing is that the boat won't let you go just where you want to, but I can deal with that. This is another must have game from Nintendo!

Why Ganon, why Tetra? |
| Sara Brockman from Tucson Az, usa says (20/Jun/2003): |
I loved the alot untill i got to Ganon. not only did he some how break out of the seal because nintendo couldn't think of any one else but he some sort of puppit. then p. zelda kills him. P.zelda is also a non important charicter who becomes zelda. My other complaints are there are only two sages, you are not the hero of time but you find all the shards of the triforce and become the hero of time, and you have to sail every where until you get a bow. But over all i liked it alot

better than i thought |
| A gamer from new york, usa says (4/Jul/2003): |
when i first saw pic of the new zelda for gc(not the cel-shaded ones) i almost messed my pants. it looked so incredibly, and i couldnt wait for it. then when i saw the new version i almost cried. in the pictures it looked awful, i hated it, i told myself i wouldnt get it, but as the zelda freak i am i did. and boy am i glad i did. i soon found that the part i hated, the graphics, was the best part of this game. this is by far, the most graphically incerdibly game to ever hit the shelves, arcades, whatever, it has way better graphics than any game out. the frame rate is far smoother than any game, movie, cartoon, anything, absolutely incredible. the lighting effects are amazing, the red tint of a lava filled room add to the amazing graphics. the coolest part though, and the reason for the cel-shading are the facial expressions. the are hilarious. like all zelda games, wind waker controls perfecly, no surprise there, but in battle the camera can sometimes go insane. but other than that it controls well. also, the dungeons are laid out brilliantly, and house some cool new weapons and enemies. despite all the greatness, this game is different from other zelda games, how? it has a few flaws. first off, the new world is not as good as hyrule or termina, boating is fun, but tiresome. also, what happened to ganon?!?!? he desperatly needs to go on a diet. looks like he pigged out in the darkworld. another somewhat tiresome thing is triforce hunting. its fun at first but eventually it gets on your nerves. one thing that previous zeldas(especially majoras mask) did was create a mood, wind waker doesnt do that. i dont know if it is the cel-shading, the music or what but it doesnt do it. it doesnt quite feel like a zelda game. yeah, it has its flaws, and it may not feel like a zelda game, but it is, and as we all know, zelda is the best. it does have its downs, but overall, it lives good on zeldas legacy, another great game added to the list.
|
You absolutely have to get it! |
| A gamer says (9/Jul/2003): |
I know i'm not the first one to say this but the gaphics are very misleading, many people dont want the game because of them, but you shouldnt judge a book (or game ;) by its cover! After starting to play the game, I started really liking the graphics! The storyline is great and you can spend hours just exploring overworld (Like me!) I bought gamecube just so I could get super smash bros. and Zelda!

| odette from wales says (17/Jul/2003): |

Overall A Great Game. |
| Todd from Port Au Prince, Haiti says (25/Jul/2003): |
I think I am most impressed by the length of the game. I tend to get hooked on a game that I like and tend to beat it quickly due to the long hours I put in. This game while a little too easy in most parts makes up for it in the amazing length and depth of the story line. I may be sticking my foot in my mouth because I haven't yet finished the game but it would be nice to see some of the other old charcters like Saria make an appearance. As for the graphics... like most I was unimpressed at first but they really do grow on me quickly and I prefer them to the previous games. I am a US Marine stationed in Haiti so I can't wait until I get my console here from the States. Even us old guys have to have a kid's heart sometimes.
