The best game ever made41398

A gamer from PA, USA says (21/Jun/2004):
I love the game so far I already found 5 shards. The begining of the game was pretty easy. The hardest part of the begining was getting the spoils bag. Then once got to the forsaken fortress I had truble getting past the gaurds. When I got to the Dragon Roost Island boss at first I did not know what to do but once I figured it out it was easy. The forbiden woods was easy to beat execpt the boss took a while to beat because you had to hit him so many times. Getting past the whirlpool was extreamly easy. Once in the tower of gods I had trouble getting to some rooms but I eventuly got to the boss and beat him in 2 min. when I was done with hyrule I went to get the strengh bracelets. But realized I forgot to get the fire/ice arrow upgrade so I went to a cyclone and shot cyclos and warped to mother and child Isle. Then went back to get the bracelets which was easy. I got to the wind temple and went through it with ease and the boss was kind of easy. I went to get the iron boots. Then got to the wind temple which was harder than the earth temple. The boss was easier than the earth temple boss. I got the 5 shards easy too. I hope the rest of the game is as easy as this part.

WiKiD41348

Zone_Unknown from Adelaide, South Australia says (18/Jun/2004):
Arrite, as someone who first stumbled upon the adventures of link and his quests to save princess zelda and defeat the evil ganon years ago on the snes, and fought his way through Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask - I will admit I was at first deterred from buying WindWaker from first impressions given by the cartoon style graphics I saw on instore advertisements. After playing the game, however, I become completely absorbed by it until I had finished it from beginning to end. The graphics may be a little cartoony but they are great. This graphics engine allows the entire game to run absolutely smoothly and seemlessly. I liked the music, it was good to hear a mix of some of the old and some new tracks. I ended up playing it a second time around about a month after finishing it the first time. The game is full of fun and surprises. The new battle system is a lot better than the old 4 or 5 different sword moves. Now you can deal combos, parry enemy attacks, while still having the ability to whip out your (Oversized) skull hammer and flattening some poor little helpless monster. This new battle style is great, however it does make the monsters extremely easy to kill. If you block and attack and make use of your boomerang and make note of the weaknesses of each monster you can take out room after room after room of them. The boat and sea style of travel instead of ol' Epona is new and exciting. I personally enjoyed sailing around for a while, and when it got boring the ability to warp on the map made up for that. I paid 90 bucks for this game, and i managed to get the storesperson to throw in the masters quest/oot cd. As someone who played and beat ocarina of time once or twice... ok maybe more times lol.. I enjoyed masters quest as most of the dungeons were new and improved.. and slightly harder, but all the bosses and enemies were just as weak as before.. I think it would have been better to chuck a few new enemies in there too. I've noticed a new Zelda coming out late 2005, not sure what its called but it looks like they're going back to the OoT style graphics, but theres a lot of new cool features like the ability to ride your horse past a monster and slice it with your sword as you go by... Anyway I give windwaker a good solid 8 outta 10. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and would recomment it to anyone.

Good tips for rookies41348

Matthew Gil from California,USA says (10/Jun/2004):
The wind waker is the best game I've ever played. The best thing is that it is on gamecube. For me the bird in forsaken forterst was kinda hard.In fire mountin was hard too because I lost my way.At first it's dumb because it is Link's birthday than he has to go to forsaken forteres thats just bad luck.I'm a big fan and i mean big.For you rookies out good luck (you'll need it).If you are stuck in the dragon rooest temple boss all you have to do is look up at the dragon ,valoo hit his tail with grappling hook valoo come straight down do it three and the scropion thing armor will shed then hit it with grappleing hook agian then slash it with your sword keep doing it until he dies. If you are stuck in the second boss your lucky because I am going to help you.The first thing you need to do is walk staight to the leaf guy and the gaint plant will close take out your boomerang and cut all the vines with your boomerang then the giant plant will open agian atack the thing with sword but, do it fast until it dead.

Da Best Game EVER!41094

Jimmy Bob Joe from Orlando, Florida USA says (30/May/2004):
Zelda Windwaker was the best game ever! The graphics weren't the best, but they were OK. Ganondork was WAY too fat! He could be a sumo wrestler or somethin'! Other than that the game was awesome. The light arrows are sweet, the Hero's Spin is cool, and I love using the hammer. So far I only have 15 hearts, but I have all the items. It's really funny when Valoo's tail is stuck and he's pounding the ground. I also like the part when Link kills Ganondork by stabbing him through the head. Overall, I think this was the best game ever! I think that the Forsaken fortress was really hard...because of the guards. Lets see...they were really annoying because, if they saw you, you were sent all the way back to the beginning. This game is the best Zelda game that Nintendo has released yet.Buy this game...really!!!

The Ledgend of Zelda: Windwaker, The best game ever!40439

Yuna from California says (15/Apr/2004):
The Ledgend of Zelda: Windwaker is the most action packed game I ever played! Even though it has lots of boring graphics, it has lots of action in it and that is what makes it the most realistic game for me. Besides that it is kinda of weird at first when at the begining of the story you start out on your birthday but then have to go on a quest to save your sister. But that is not the only bad news as you play this fabulous game, because you will meet different people and monsters as you travel on your way to Dragon Roost Island for exsample. You have to go up to the top of the mountain and defeat the monster that is messing with the dragons tail. And when you do, you'll encounter lots of new horrors. Anyhow the monsters are easy to come by so you can easily slip past them. So buy the game now at your nearest store and play. And once you do you'll see that it is the most action packed game out of the whole zelda series that is the most best and also makes you feel as if tyou were actually the main character in the story!

Better Game Than it Looks40067

Travis Mask from Gainesville, Texas, United Staes of America says (30/Mar/2004):
**BUY IT, the BEST game on gamecube yet.** If youve got a gamecube buy it, BUY IT, BUY IT.
The thing that makes it funny is the, second quest, believe me! It may be confusing at first but don't give-up, it gets a lot better, believe me. Especialy when you search the sea and islands for all kinds of treasures.
Everything is so realistic the exspressions on his face and the enemies. The buildings look so real and the boat(s).
The new weapons and secrets you can use them for. Especialy the Tingle-tuner and the Deku leaf. The Tingle-tuner helps you out a lot like secrets, destroying things, and find valueable stuff. The Deku leaf helps you get to hard places, with less difficulty, and you can stun deku bab bab plants.
Don't belike my sister and give-up so early you don't know how much fun it'll be, bummer. If you've never tried it because you think it's babyish, try it and you won't think that any more.
Next Zelda ought to be great, I think they'll make the New-Link a teenager, because they ought to.
**At first I thought it was great but is was GREEEEEEEEEAT!!!**
Especially if you're a Zelda fan

The Hookshot isn't only for Monsters...39919

Saiyamoru from Huntsville, Alabama, USA says (22/Mar/2004):
O____O The first game that forced me to become a Gamecube zombie. I haven't finished it all yet--how d'you kill those dratted Floormasters?!?--but it is VERY promising. And for those people who think this is too short and the graphics are bad...*growls* In Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, they had only EIGHT dungeons and at least the graphics were in color, but that's all I can say for IT...AND I STILL WORSHIPED IT!!! *bows to her Zelda Shrine decked out with Hero's Flags.* One of the good things I liked about this game was even if I chickened out and ran off to hide from the scary temples, there was still LOADS of stuff to do...upgrade poor Zunari's shop, catch the thieving rich-turned-poor girl and tease her to absolute DEATH ((By the way, if you don't feel like impersonating a kitty throughout the entire chase, you can simply hide behind the wall beside the coffee shop and wait for her to pass by, then run in after her and catch her thinking greedy thoughts while rummaging through ole Zunari's safe.)), deliver the cannabalistic Moe's letter to Maggie--I really pitied that poor girl when she read Moe's letter aloud, catch Killer Bees, babysit the three little pigs for the sailor...*sniff* If this game is excellent for me, I need to get Orcarina of Time and see what's so great about the game everyone is comparing it to!

This game is illegally fun!!!!!39700

canadian gamer kid from vancouver says (13/Mar/2004):
I really enjoyed zelda w.w, i thought the graphics were aweosme and the gameplay was great. The only things that made this game not deserve a 10 out of 10 were that it was to short, sailing got boring( wayyyyyyy to much water) and the easiness of the enemies, bosses, exept for ganondorf who i died against a few times.
Overall this game was by far the best zelda game ever and i hope the next one is like this too (without the water though)nice job nintendo!!!!! keep up the good zelda work!!!! Id like to see some new weapons in the next game, and adult link should definitly be there not young link. Keep the cell shading and the great artwork, music and enemies. But PLEASE PLEASE dont bring ganondorf back, hes getting a bit old, and link already killed him several times, and it doesnt make sence that he came back to life. new boss plz
this game is really great if you havnt bought it yet, and your a zelda fan you have to get this, what are you waiting for, go right now, leave your house and get this, you cant live a life without first playing this wonderfull game hurry up and buy it (not from eb games though) bastards

nice work nintendo this game rocks!!!!!

Total Princess Zelda and more39650

I_S from Cairo, Egypt says (11/Mar/2004):
I never knew that The pirate was Princess Zelda and that stupid bird at the Forbidden Fortress was easy to beat, especially since all you have to do is run from it and sheild and then attack it with arrows. Though, if you run out, they'll give you some. The Tower of the Gods was hard at first, because I didn't know that you had to throw bombs in the Main Boss' mouth. Of course, I also had to stay in line, but that was also hard too! The hands to the boss kept knocking me out. I think the hardest part is the last temple. The deku child gets himself caught and there's a switch that is hard to get. It sucks, really. It was the hardest part for me. Other parts were wuite easy if I do say so myself. But I think it's easy otherwise. When you have to collect all the peices of the triforce, it's hard to get past all the monsters in the underground place under the boulder on Link's home island. Ah, but it's worth it. I think this is the best Zelda game they've gotten so far! Majora's mask was fun, but the forst one on the 64 was easy!

2nd Best Zelda Game39527

A gamer from Waukesha, USA says (7/Mar/2004):
This was by far the best game that nintendo has put out for gamecube. This was also the 2nd best Zelda game put out ever(behind Ocarina of Time). When it first came out I thought the cel shaded graphics would turn the game into a giant comic book but when i played the game i discovered how amazing the graphics really were. Its so realistic water drips off of him after he comes out of the water. The facial expressions are so close to real it'll be hard to match by other games. I recommend buying this game if you have Gamecube its worth the price no matter what it is. Ive played every Zelda game and this one will be one of the best. Hopefully in the nezt Zelda game though they will turn it into more of whats going to happen next rather than look i wonder if you have to hook to that or blow that up. The adding of the nintendo gallery in it was a nice thouch overall it was a brilliant game and nintendo should keep up the good work. Also they should have improved the sailing stuff it got so boring after a while the gale sopng should have been able to warp you everywhere you saw a fish too. Great Job Nintendo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME GAME!!!!39535

A gamer from Mansfield, Massachusetts says (7/Mar/2004):
This game is so awesome!! I love it so much and the graphics are great. I love the shading. I don't know why you wouldn't like this game! Sometimes I find it a little boring to sail around, but when you get to all of the great quests and missions and temples, it is easy to tell that this is game is the best Zelda game every made graphics and gameplay wise. (Ocarina of Time is still my fav though.) I love all the new features and the story plot. And Ganon looks sooo cool!!! The characters actually give facial expressions too! The new music is great too and you can feel like your on a real adventure. To me, this is what makes a good game great. And just like all the Zelda games, this one is fun to play and easy to enjoy. The new Windwaker thingie is also very cool. A little hard to control, but very very cool. And the songs that you can play are pretty sweet themselves. Some things are hard to do like the Killer Bees and some missions, but with the new map it is not so hard. And Tingle is pretty cool now too with that Tingle Tuner thing that he gives you. All in all, i give this awesome game a 10 out of 10. Who wouldn't?

WHERE IS ALL THE HELP39480

Lori from Wasaga Beach Ontario says (4/Mar/2004):
I agree about Zelda oot, and as i read over some of the reviews , I'm sitting here thinking ? ok where is the helpers , the cheats , or the how to's when your stuck..I would love to see people write a step or something like that to help my kids to play..They aren't allowed to use a cheat or a easy way out unless they are really stuck...So please all the Zelda fans write on, and help those people that need it..forever Zelda right, I love oot , played and finished it , but hay every now and then need help , that was how me and my son had our time together , and with m.mask well that says enough, but we finished that to with help not to talk about my bill, so thats why i come here to read on and get some help and not a phone bill..This is really the way me and my boy contact, since i am a single mother , i have to be mom and dad , and now he's waiting for me to catch up to where he is , but i find i'm lost in this game and need help....So come on Zelda lover help out a mom ...Forever Zelda

Did you find evreything?!?!?!?!?39111

Will M from Windsor Ontario says (16/Feb/2004):
Yes! This zelda game is very close to perfection! Although it is not as good as Oot, it is very close to perfection. The gameplay is perfect, the graphics (cel shaded) are not just for kids! The people who think that have serious issues... And Ganon does not look llike a retard, true, he isnt as evil as he is in Oot, but he is suave, and knows how to keep his cool. Anyway, the graphics are amazing, and the idea of having a world above Hyrule - it is ingenious (I LOVE IT!) The story line, well as you know, it is great, finding the triforce of courage, a dead pirate ship, a crew of unpredictable pirates led by Zelda herself. This game is near to perfection. However, the only fault. Are you ready? There are only six temples which includes ganons castle, true there are several 3-4 room dungeons in which you acquire charts, but those are not temples... I feel that there should have been the six temples from Oot that had to be defeated in order to release the six sages who open up the path to Ganons castle. Then, the game would have reached perfection.

YEEEEEHAAAAA! WOOOOO! YAAAAAA!38742

Tyler Bowes from Nova scotia canada says (31/Jan/2004):
Nintendo kick a** in this game!!They updated every single thing!!!
Even though Ocarina of time was better Wind waker crossed the line too!But the score is for all the really really really annoying
Miniblims! They make you want to turn off the sound because they sound like elves on a caffine high!!The sailing was also wasting
my time! Its okay when you get the hurricane song but lord oh mighty
strike me down for this but this is the 10th time ganon has broken
the seal! One time in a game they were sopposed to sacrifice link in
order to restore ganon to full power!!The oracle of seasons and ages
was good links awakening was TOO easy for someone who beat it like
50,000 times! When are they gonna get a new villian? They slacked off during the making of majoras mask!Ocarina of time was the best
zelda game ever!Who cares about the redeads! Also when you get to
fight king dodongo I figured it out in 3 seconds! But in wind waker why did they also make creepier redeads? They really creeped
me out! Also why didnt we get a gossip stone in ocarina of time?
We were in termina while they needed help also!

The best (Not bloody and violent) game ever!38698

A gamer from Edmonton, Alberta Canada says (30/Jan/2004):
I play OoT and I thought gaming couldn't get any better then Majora's Mask came out and I thought it was too short not as good as OoT. Then I heard about Zelda Wind Waker and I said "Mom, I've got to get this game." Unfortunatly I didn't get OoT Master Quest (I wish I had) but I got Wind Waker and It was the best game in the Legend of Zelda series. It's really a kids game no blood no violence, harsh language, and its got sweet graphics. I thought I wouldn't like it but when i tried it I literally stayed up all night to play it. It is better than OoT. And OoT was pretty good. There is some music i remember from OoT like when you use the cyclone it sounds like when you teleport (maybe this is on MM but i'm not sure). And the story is awsome *Ganondorf rise from the Sacred Realm*. This game is good in everything! Not too much violence but just enough that it's a good game (which there is little violence). I would recomend this to anyone who hasn't played Zelda before (which is impossible).

I always will go back and go over all the memories: beating Ganon and the skultulas or the heart pieces I haven't even finished OoT yet or MM come to think of it. I'm only 11 so i can't pay for bills or for the games thank god for parents :). They really need and Zelda show. Do you know how good that would be!?

Zelda is the only game for me!38390

Melissa from lowell, Ma, USA says (19/Jan/2004):
graphis are excellent, his eyes move to things I don't even see. The clouds of dust are cool and the sailing is unique, the monsters are bigger and freakier looking and a little intimidating becaus eyour still so small.
The sound is good but it is all background to me, my house is so loud.
Gameplayability- well It is a little confusing getting used to the gamecube buttons but sacrafice where one may for Zelda! It is getting easier but the puzzles are difficult so it keeps me going.
Life span! HA! I still play my old Zelda games. You can naver have too much Zelda in your life! oh yeah and always name your guy Link, have some respect! it sounds stupid when someone says "yeah melissa that name sounds familiar."
Fun factor! fun fun fun. I play play play! Just to get my daily dose of little Link legs!
The originality is hight the sailing was unexpected as having only played the castle parts in the stores. but I like it and will play it again when (ever) I finish it.
I value my Zelda games above all else. I eat when I play, oh! if only I could sleep and play at the same time. Oh yeah and there is that annoying work place I have to go evey day! But it pays for my electricity to power my game that I love more than air! oh sweet zelda...I mean air!

This game rocks!!37898

Jeremy from Procious, W.V. USA says (4/Jan/2004):
I love zelda, every sense i played ocarina of time. Ocarina of time is the first zelda game i ever played. WW it is awesome. I agree with some of the people here, that if you truly are a zelda fan you wont care what the graphics look like. I personally think that the graphics are great. So what,he lookes like a cartoon it gives it something new. Although i hate changes. But if that is what the developers put it as that it is fine with me. the rest of you can just go cry in the corner about how the graphics suck to you. there is just one thing that i did not like is that ganondorf looked different. although i am not complaning.it just made it alittle less exciting. But i dont care. Wind waker is awesome i have had it since the first week that it came out. I havent collected everthing yet i'm working on it. OH and if you are a true zelda fan than you wouldn't mind taking the challenge of finding everthing. i have on ocarina of time and majora's mask. i have just about got everything on ww. have fun doing that.

sweetness37724

Jeffery D. warner & Bryan E. Warner from Wyoming says (31/Dec/2003):
I love this game!!!! OK so the graphics arnt so good but every thing else is great. the bosses are cool looking, the guys are cool, the enemys are weak(really cool), and just about every thing else. Like the fact that the bosses only do two hearts at max and the average creep attack is a forth of a heart. But so what. I havent beaten the game yet but im playing it all day every day. so if you want a new game get this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have any tips for me on how to get the triforce e-mail me at bogglie< remove me > at zwallet.com. Plus if your a noob at this game i can give you some tips. My brother has a problem getting the word count so i will add my thoughts about the game as well. I really enjoy the general game play on it, I enjoy the varying difficuly and puzzles for the differnt levels as well as the challenges. I think that the people who made the game kinda left the idea of zelda behind and that they should have released this one "Wind Waker" before Ocarina of time because it would make a bit of sense with the graphics I also think it would have really made the plot in ocarina awsome.
I am not to far in the game so i cant really comment on too much

i love Zelda!37724

Rosie xx from Winchester says (28/Dec/2003):

i love zelda and the windwaker. me and my friend have been completly addicted to zeld since she got a gamecube the only thing i didnt like about the game was sailing, but with balad of the gales you can portal to some of the 49 different islands on your map. the basic idea is that you are a dude called link who has to save princess zelda and defeat ganondorf along with the help of your boat, your sorwd, leaf, arrows and loads more. the amount of freedom the game gives you is great. the graphics and music are so cool along with the detail that has been put into the game. there is so much to do and loads of extras. like being able to become a segul and following treasure charts. the charachters are amazing too. each has a perpose in the game and gives you hints about small or large tasks. Zelda has to be my favourite game ever ever ever and i would seriously recomend buying it. prepare to be observent and a handy sowrdsman - good luck. i wish that zelda could be on x-box coz we have one of those, i even dream about zelda, is that normal???
