Good,but judgemental37169

Zelda freak from Knoxville,USA says (21/Dec/2003):
I thougt it was quiete good ,but it might have tried to uz an Impa charac. like past Zelda games. I also admired itsuse of an old boss{Gohma} from oot,but lost track ov her spider like appearance. Other than that the game seemed fun!{could have mentioned Ganondorf was a Gerudo} Ithink the game was awsome!!!!!
I think the sage Laruto may have been Princess Rutos mother,or have relation to her in some way {from ocarina of time}. One strange misshap in the game is the Deku tree died in oot,and came back as the deku sprout. The thing is unless the sprout was dug up it would be in egzistance because the forest was level with Hyrule Field making it impossible for it 2 be in Wind waker. Also if my thoughts are correct ganondorf would remain in the sages were alive, or cept being replaced and become sages he would still be there still which is is the biggest error ov all. Ialso would like to know if the zoras still live, because the hylians, humans, and gorons still live, but maybe they can't survie onland for long,or maybe they killed them off the game which is a big mysteryto me. Ilike the game mainly because its just funenough for me.

Very good but needs more36925

A gamer from Cinnaminson,NJ,USA says (13/Dec/2003):
Wind Waker is a great Zelda game, only second to Oot. The playing area as a whole is huge(it takes about 5min. from one side to another). But that space is 90% water! With every island you can see the whole thing from your boat. The temples are also few as well as easy. Now the Plot. I'm glad that the whole tri-force thing is resolved but did you have to drown Hyrule! Where will link go now? Will he go to that place in MM? OH GOD NO!! Speaking of link, the game's main character is not the real thing. Even though they mention him, they never say what happen. You might be wondering why I gave it a 9? Believe it or not, I'm a true zelda fan, NES-Cube. WW did have a lot of good things. For one, the new fighting moves, not just the parry but the four-hit combos. It flows very smoothly and fast. Another thing is the new items. The grapple hook makes you feel like India Jones. The game is not limmited to land and water; you can now fly with the deku leaf. Make a giant mainland, bring in more combo moves, tell us what happens to the real link and make it more difficult and long and you have a great Zelda game. And the whole cel-shading; drop it. It is such an old arguement. Just try playing the bonus OoT and see why!

Are you a TRUE Zelda Fan?36467

Mark Gallow says (1/Dec/2003):
Come on People! You call yourselves Zelda fans? It is a well known fact humans hate change it is just a psychologicall thing, So CHOOSE to enjoy the graphics, I did some research into why they chose those type of graphics and they said if you have a realaistic chacrter running around things or beeing able to do unrealistic moves it takes some of the fun or purpose of what zelda was meant to be. So ENJOY the graphics, yes i admit it was a shock for me to but i chose to look on the bright side now can't picture them without it, stop comapareing to fully realism to cartoon there is a purpose to the cartoony look, realism face it you can do more or get drawn into the game more cause a cartoon doing mad HUGE things that a realistic looking charcter would look outa place doing, so the realsim aspect of the game is put into play so Quit the whineing about the Graphics! If you were a REAL Zelda fan you will stick by Zelda no matter what the changes, Like a true fan going for there faviroute team even through the changes or losses, This is just a simple change, choose to look at it for the better not the worste. Only you can choose to enjoy it! I love this game, the graphics are realistic to the movment of Link, the sound is crisp and clean, the gameplay smooth, and the game length allthough a bit short don't rush the game choose to roleplay run around the island pretending your looking for shells

This game is really cool! YEAH!36335

Angus Newhouse from Kennewick USA says (29/Nov/2003):
When this game first came out I didn't know what to expect of it. I was thinking about preordering it and stuff but I decided not to. I first played it about three months after it came out. I started playing and found that it was rather addicting to play. Then I played it nearly non-stop for five days until I had finished. The entire adventure is so much fun to play. THe controls are pretty simple and it is really fun to fight hordes of enemies. Once you get all of your Items it get's really really fun to fight hordes of enemies. But with how huge this game was, it was easy for me to play it that much. I mean, come on. They have an entire ocean, islands, huge islands and ships on the water. And the game still goes way beyond that. There are lots of weapons at your disposal as well. The graphics are cel shaded. At first I didn't think I would like this. But after a while I got to liking it. And they are really nice graphics. The game also has good music. What I really like about it is how it is like five differant ganres of games. Action, adventure, rpg, puzzle and platform. These all fit into this game. The one thing I didn't like about it was the lack of stuff that happens once you beat the game. Nothing really happens. You just start over in your normal clothes and with a color picto box. Nothing special. But yes, I strongly reccomend ths game. It Rocks!

The Legend reawakens35984

James (Bov) Bovington from Hudderfield, England says (24/Nov/2003):
How to elaborate 'This is a great game' into the two hundred word minimum? For that is all that is truly needed to describe this masterpiece of gaming fun.
Technically (groan) this is an excellent piece of work, it runs quickly with no visible slowdown no matter how much is going on on screen. The cell shaded graphics, although despised by some and loved by others, like marmite, really add a sort of depth to the game and belive me, when your playing you wont care about the graphics one jolt. The sound in Wind Waker is great, and although there is no voice acting as such, the music really sets the scene.
One gripe about the gameplay is the long periods of time spent sailing to and from the various different islands, and as sea tends to all look the same, these parts can get slightly tedious.
The characters are memorable personalities and although the Link in this game isn't the same as the one in Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask, he remains on the same basis in terms of personality, strengths and weaknesses.
So, this is an amazing game that any true Nintendo fan worth their salt will own, and despite the tinyest of flaws, the long periods at sea, some of the dungeons are a bit samey, remains a terrific game with a good story and plenty of side quests to keep you busy.
Have fun!

just a little extra35985

James (Bov) Bovington from Huddersfield, England says (24/Nov/2003):
this is just a little extra i forgot to put in my actual review.
This game is not quite as good as the 7th (Ocarina of Time) or Majora's Mask (the 9th) but it is still an extremly good game and is a real asset to the series that is already more than 10 strong.
Cheers,
The Bov.

WindWaker not as great as Ocarina of Time35680

A gamer from South Carolina, USA says (20/Nov/2003):
Well Ww was a good game, but nothing like OoT. OoT was a groundbreaking game with great 3-D graphics, originality, and epic fights and gameplay. In Ww, you didnt have that. You did have a new hero, but he looked like the old link. Zelda wasnt there, but she was. There was no such thing as hyrule when the game first started. And THEY WERE ALL KIDS. Graphics were ok but cartoon-like. Gameplay was ok, but not epic. The boss battle of OoT was epic. There were lighting bolts hitting the ground, Ganon looked awesome in hig transformed state, and all around hyrule, during the battle, was hell on earth. In Ww, you fight a samurai version of Ganon while Zelda shoots your light arrows at him. All in all, this games ok..just a renter though...its not as good as its predecessor

zelda 335700

geoffrey john jones from united kingdom says (20/Nov/2003):
i think this zelda is the best. ok its hard because you've got to go and everything but its still the best. i have completed 1,2 and now this 1. i think this is a very good game because its graphics are cartoony and are good for little kids to play this instead of causing trouble. once again its da bomb. i think the second was good aswell also the first. i thnk the first was really good because you had all the temples to do i liked the shadow temple the best what about you ?

Zelda35420

Justin from USA says (15/Nov/2003):
I still love Zelda the same way I did when playing my all time favorite Ocrina of Time. It rules and the graphics got me at fore. I love it's new style. I was blown away at the fore-shadowing they put in the game it's just amazing. It's like watching a splint sceen the whole time playing. So great. Sure I'm going to miss the old graphics but I can get over it.
The story-line is still worth while and follows the segal of the two on N64. The fighting is also better with great new moves.
The new thing that I so much like on this game is that sailing. Man it is so real. Where the wind blows you follow cause you are moving by sail. So instead of a horse you have a talking boat. Yeah you miss the horse but it's not like a horse can swim and the boat is so much fun. The sea is huge!! You can just travel and travel the sea, even get lost, if not careful. But thats when the map comes in handy. Island to Island there is a tone of extra mini quest you could do If you want to.
This game is also very long. So prepare to learn new things. I can't wait for the next Zelda. This is still my favorite of all games.
Any Zelda fan not willing to buy this game because of a simple thing like graphics is a fool!
And if you never played Zelda before and like to get your complete moneys worth out of games. THIS IS THE GAME TO START WITH.

Almost Perfect35234

A gamer from Panama City, Florida, United States says (12/Nov/2003):
The storyline is awsome. This game truly makes you use your head. I love the Cell Shading technique, the music and sound compositions are awsome. The one flaw? Repetitive. Everything about this game is perfect. In fact the only repetive thing? Leave an Island... sail over water. To your left? water. To the right? water. OH LOOK! I can see some water from here! Other than the fact you have to sail everywhere (with acception of way by tornado) this game is flawless. I'd give a 9.5 if they had it.

It's Zelda alright...34751

Andy from Memphis,TN,USA says (5/Nov/2003):
Well....I feel inclined to say that this is the best ever Zelda game for the simple fact that its the newest...the only one of the titles that I havent beaten 10 times or more. There ARE things I dont like about it though....agreeably...and the most notable....the constant sailing around looking for treasure. This may have seemed like an awesome idea at the time...but when you consider that all your getting is rupees and heart pieces, it doesnt really seem worth it after the first 5 levels or so. Maybe if they had structured it where you actually have to get certain treasures in order to get items or something...i dont know. Another thing that was pretty annoying was the "hit me 300, 500, 700 times and get diddly-squat" part. Yeah, sure....you get some money, a heart piece...and a "warrior" status rating out of it...but who really cares?? I'll be honest...I beat this game with only 14 of the 20 heart pieces and I think the 3rd best swordsman rating....and it didnt affect my enjoyment of this title a bit. So, Nintendo...lets get to work on something a little less tedious and a little more action packed...and make MINE Zelda!

You can tell japan made it, though it was good.34546

Kyle from Virginia,USA says (2/Nov/2003):
I really liked this Zelda game, because of all the dungeons and puzzling difficulty.Although, if you ask me, the graphics really sucked. It looks all animated, stupidly, like DBZ and pokemon and all that crap.I'm still playing it, because im stuck on collecting the stupid Triforce shards.I'm on the last one, but its hard to get into that dumb ghost ship.Anyway, its still really fun, killing the bosses and dungeons and side quests. But, still it wasn't as good anywhere near The ocarina of time, and maybe even Majoras mask. This game looks like a 4 year old's game, and i was ashamed to play it.But dont get me wrong, the game was very puzzling and hard at times. What is up with japan and that weird animation thing?!The new graphics really P'oed me when I heard about it.But, the game is great if you want a challenge, so if you are still into Zelda, I do recommend it.
