Great One!30707

Rich from Riverside RI USA says (21/Aug/2003):
I loved this version of the series the most of all, The only poor portion is operating the wind waker. Other than that, the game is a huge hit! I liked the cartoonlike humor and exellent graphics from the start! The long yet interesting adventure was action packed from the start. I could only find one flaw and it is minor at best. It held my interest and didn't falter at all! I highly advise game fans young and old to get this title. It looks childish, but it is good for adults also. It is better than the ocarina of time.

The Legend of Zelda:the Windwaker is a nother great nintendo hit. it not only fetures the Cel-shade graphics but also relates to the previous game:''Ocarina of Time'' by sending the story to the future. The music is also a good improvement,it has an up-beat and positive out-look(or sound.)this is a must get for anyone with a

A gamer from Pukkila,Finland says (26/Oct/2003):
I have played many Zelda games and I think this windwaker is best of them all,but finding eight triforce shards and maps is very boring. The legend of Zelda the ocarina of time is also very good game and Majora`s mask too.So is everyone else played those games?

About boses of Zelda!!!!!!!41503

Jonathan from Fontana ca. United States says (27/Jun/2004):
The Legend of Zelda is the hardest game I ever played.I didn"t blink once while I was playing. On the first boss I thought about the Great Vallcoos tail then I thought about every item in the staghts screen and I chose the grappling hook so I got his tail and swang off and I kept on doing it until I beat him.And then I got a piece of heart. On the way on the second boss I met the Koroks."They taught me how to use the deku leaf and I traveled to the forest.I beat the boss got another piece of heart and traveled to Hyrule. This was tough all the rooms are puzzleing and after all the rooms your bow and arrow should hit his eyes and your bombs should go in his mouth and when you beat him he will tell you that a gateway will be opened. After ring the bell with the grappling hook.So I hope you like my advice and Nintendo keep up the great work your doing a good job and get ready to make a new exiting great good game for all of us kids and all of you adults.

charts, treasures and maps should be all updated as you play43627

A gamer from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia says (16/Dec/2004):
I'm a 48year old female mum who loves Zelda. I used to get my son to do the bosses, but I can now do them myself. I love the game but found the sailing boring. I also prefer to have target numbers of treasures to find, after finding the 40th treasure chest in a row with a jewel has no meaning when your wallet is full and there seems to be a limitless supply of chests to find. If you knew there were 200 or whatever and you'd only found 150 or 15 of the 20 in an area then the 40th in a row would still be ok within the bigger picture. The same with the charts, finding a heart chart is terrific except that half way through the game when you have found many hearts already, makes these charts useless because you don't know which ones you've already done. Especially for me as I often forget. (I did say I was 48 didn't I). I have found all shards, got the light arrow, completed most islands, platforms, submarines, and all temples. I am missing about 5 treasure maps that I'm still looking for and have most figurines. I think I need two more hearts but who knows as there is no reference to find out. I've just got two less than the top row.
If you could see how badly I play ---- this is some feat. My son is always laughing at me as I fall off platforms and misjudge leaps. My arm currently hurts from playing and I dream most nights of needing to find something else in my distorted Zelda dreams. I love flying as a seagull and spent ages flying until I felt like 'I' was really flying. What I really love about games is that although when playing you know that it is only a game, six months later my memories of being in game worlds are identical to my memories of being in the real world.
I love finding things, the puzzles and exploring more than the fighting but there is some satisfaction when you finally beat a difficult monster.

The Hookshot isn't only for Monsters...39919

Saiyamoru from Huntsville, Alabama, USA says (22/Mar/2004):
O____O The first game that forced me to become a Gamecube zombie. I haven't finished it all yet--how d'you kill those dratted Floormasters?!?--but it is VERY promising. And for those people who think this is too short and the graphics are bad...*growls* In Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, they had only EIGHT dungeons and at least the graphics were in color, but that's all I can say for IT...AND I STILL WORSHIPED IT!!! *bows to her Zelda Shrine decked out with Hero's Flags.* One of the good things I liked about this game was even if I chickened out and ran off to hide from the scary temples, there was still LOADS of stuff to do...upgrade poor Zunari's shop, catch the thieving rich-turned-poor girl and tease her to absolute DEATH ((By the way, if you don't feel like impersonating a kitty throughout the entire chase, you can simply hide behind the wall beside the coffee shop and wait for her to pass by, then run in after her and catch her thinking greedy thoughts while rummaging through ole Zunari's safe.)), deliver the cannabalistic Moe's letter to Maggie--I really pitied that poor girl when she read Moe's letter aloud, catch Killer Bees, babysit the three little pigs for the sailor...*sniff* If this game is excellent for me, I need to get Orcarina of Time and see what's so great about the game everyone is comparing it to!

Are you a TRUE Zelda Fan?36467

Mark Gallow says (1/Dec/2003):
Come on People! You call yourselves Zelda fans? It is a well known fact humans hate change it is just a psychologicall thing, So CHOOSE to enjoy the graphics, I did some research into why they chose those type of graphics and they said if you have a realaistic chacrter running around things or beeing able to do unrealistic moves it takes some of the fun or purpose of what zelda was meant to be. So ENJOY the graphics, yes i admit it was a shock for me to but i chose to look on the bright side now can't picture them without it, stop comapareing to fully realism to cartoon there is a purpose to the cartoony look, realism face it you can do more or get drawn into the game more cause a cartoon doing mad HUGE things that a realistic looking charcter would look outa place doing, so the realsim aspect of the game is put into play so Quit the whineing about the Graphics! If you were a REAL Zelda fan you will stick by Zelda no matter what the changes, Like a true fan going for there faviroute team even through the changes or losses, This is just a simple change, choose to look at it for the better not the worste. Only you can choose to enjoy it! I love this game, the graphics are realistic to the movment of Link, the sound is crisp and clean, the gameplay smooth, and the game length allthough a bit short don't rush the game choose to roleplay run around the island pretending your looking for shells

The best (Not bloody and violent) game ever!38698

A gamer from Edmonton, Alberta Canada says (30/Jan/2004):
I play OoT and I thought gaming couldn't get any better then Majora's Mask came out and I thought it was too short not as good as OoT. Then I heard about Zelda Wind Waker and I said "Mom, I've got to get this game." Unfortunatly I didn't get OoT Master Quest (I wish I had) but I got Wind Waker and It was the best game in the Legend of Zelda series. It's really a kids game no blood no violence, harsh language, and its got sweet graphics. I thought I wouldn't like it but when i tried it I literally stayed up all night to play it. It is better than OoT. And OoT was pretty good. There is some music i remember from OoT like when you use the cyclone it sounds like when you teleport (maybe this is on MM but i'm not sure). And the story is awsome *Ganondorf rise from the Sacred Realm*. This game is good in everything! Not too much violence but just enough that it's a good game (which there is little violence). I would recomend this to anyone who hasn't played Zelda before (which is impossible).

Just like the Star Wars series Miyamoto gay'd this one up19870

JimmyUnion from Norfolk, VA says (25/Mar/2003):
Everyone is talking about how perfect the graphics work with the game and how fun it is, every reviewer that is that probably gets a nice little chunk of money to say that. Bottom line, you take the coolest game and put some Sesame Street looking characters in it and it isn't as fun. As far as Miyamoto saying he wanted it to go back to it's roots, well I played them back as a kid, friends did and say the same thing, this is not what we were thinking of when we played the original, the artwork in the little old booklets looked just like the older version of Link in Ocarina (the kid in Majora just looked like a stupid little hobbit), he's turned Zelda into Parappa what a complete waste. I knew something was wrong after Ocarina when you had to play hobbit Link and change masks like something straight out of Mario 3. Zelda is Zelda, not Mario, not Parappa, not Pokemon, why couldn't he have left it alone instead of infecting it with "cuteness" ugg. First Zelda I won't buy, second one I won't finish (bought Majora and was disappointed with all the cutesy Deku crap)

Super Awsome Game!!20215

Jesse B from Michigan, USA says (30/Mar/2003):
I just LOVE this wonderful game!!! If you haven't played it then you CAN NOT and I repeat CAN NOT judge it!!! As for me, well I pre ordered it so i can tell you how AWESOME it is!! IT is very long and has a great plot! The bosses are hard but really fun. The final fight this the best fight in the history of all ZELDA games ever created! Trust me, if you have doubts about this game then you probably haven't played it. The graphics are also stunningly good. The folks at Nintendo have created this beautiful game, and I thank them for it!!! I am SURE that this game "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" will be ranked the NUMBER ONE GAME. Just wait and see. In the mean time, I suggest you go out and buy this game for yourself so you can enjoy it like I did!!(Yes I have already beaten it (March/29/2003). But trust me, it was not at all easy. I was obsessed, playing it almost nonstop for a week) And now that I have beaten it, I am playing it a second time around. This time I got a different outfit and other new cool stuff. If you own the game then you can agree, From now on all ZELDA games should be "Cell Shaded". Hope you enjoy the best ZELDA game of all time! I did, and still do!!!

The perfect game!!!!!!!!!!24862

pretzel morales from Lisbon,Portugal says (6/Jun/2003):
I believe almost every aspect of this game is just right. The graphics may be cartoonish, but they are very beautiful, colourful, and bright. It's very interactive, there is a lot of action, and plenty of awesome sword moves to perform. I like all the characters there are and you can't forget how detailed the levels are. The game isn't too easy, nor is it too hard, and what I like most about this game is that there's a long, fun, action packed story, and plenty of puzzles to do.

Zelda is Zelda..no matter what shape..size...and (cell) shade!25561

The Keiser from East Hartford CT U.S.A. says (16/Jun/2003):
I have to admit..I was a little upset that my precious Zelda was gonna be Cel-Shaded, but i got over it pretty quickly when i first played the demo, and now i don't even forget its cell shaded. Windwaker is definetly a good old fashion Zelda game of yore, great controls, gameplay, storyline, and yes..the graphics, even if Link dosen't look like the nice chizled form of the Smash Brother's Melee and Soul Calibor 2 Link that we have seen. The faces he makes are priceless when he gets into deep trouble or is disgusted and surprised even. Sound is classic Zelda as well, and finishing up the near perfect game already, with the Gameboy Advance Gamecube Link Cable, you and a buddy can have the ultimate duo, Tingle and Link..ok..its not that ultimate, but its still a great feature. If your a Zelda fan and have been itching to get Zelda, The Legend of Zelda the Windwaker is your backscratcher! In the words of Tingle, "Kooo limp ahhh!"

The best game ever!!26773

Darcy London from Learmonth, Victoria, Australia says (1/Jul/2003):
Throghout the years, man has invented some fun things. The Zelda series is one of the 8, now 9 wonders of the world. This is a very fun game and easy to understand. If you have a gamecube but don't have this game GET IT!! this is every gamers dream. It is lively and full of colour and never bores you. I have only had this game for a month or so and I have beaten it twice! ( pretty good considering that my mum and dad insist I go outside for a while and how big it is) Anyway, the story is that a legend in a distant land wearing a green tunic always banishes evil whenever it appears. Ganon, as usual. The main thing that you're doing is going around gathering enough power to banish evil once more. All in all, better than any Xbox and PS2 game you'll ever come across. Well recommended by me.

Stop complaining!33538

Kurt Mcormick from Los Angelos, California says (16/Oct/2003):
this game rocks! stop complaining about the graphics! and personaly, YOUNG LINK IS ALOT BETTER THEN ADULT! Windwaker is definately the best Zelda game so far. If you are a true zelda fan you shouldnt be complaining about things as small as that. Its not the graphics or who's in it, its the story the dungeons and the items!

I like the game42716

Alex from Cleveland, Ohio says (1/Oct/2004):
The game is not bad in fact I like it. I have a friend who has Ocarina of time. I like it too but the graphics are worse.
Anyways if you make another Zelda game maybe you could name it
The Legend of Zelda "meeting of the great heroes". In that game you should add to the storyline something like this:After the Hero of the winds had save the land in the great sea he has also destroyed hyrule , but one day the hero of time came back and took the portal from Termina instead it landed him in the depths of the future where the hero of the winds existed and so on. Going off the subject I really like windwaker. Hope my addition to the storyline helps you make the future new Zelda game.
I'll have everyoneone know that I LOVE ZELDA GAMES MORE THAN EVERYONE ELSE. I rate the games 10 stars. I also hope that on Zeldauniverse.com you actually put hints and cheats beacause all it says is zelda games on sale blah blah blah. I beat windwaker twice already can you belive it. I just can't resiest windwaker.
I also like ocarina of time. I like it when you play songs to warp almost anywhere (especially the temple of time so you can become young link or adult link at any time).
