I bought this game for my children ( aged 8 and 6 ) and they absolutely love it, they are both big fans of Wallace and Gromit and it is very close to the quality of the Ardman animations. In the game you control Gromit who has quite a few tasks to complete on each level, Wallace is around to help but you don't actually control him, you have to collect tools and nuts and bolts and dotted around are various contraptions that Wallace can either mend or make into weapons and other items you may need to help Gromit along his way, if there is something to be fixed or a contraption to be made the required number of tools or nuts and bolts is displayed next to it, if you have the required items you can whistle and Wallace will come to you and fix or make the contraption. The game play is pretty straight forward and the special moves are quite easy to master but there are occassions when they shout "Dad we are stuck !" and I have to go and help them out, the main problem is the view you have of Gromit, it is sometimes from an awkward angle and it is hard to get him walking in the right direction ( you can't always centre the view ). Also dotted around are sub games that are quite fun but not necessary to complete the game, for some of them you have to go through openings which take you out of the main levels in to sub levels and others are actually in the level where you have to complete little games you activate, for example you have to jump on some tree stumps which have buttons on the top, when a button pops up you have to jump on it and you get a certain amount of time to jump on a certain number of buttons, if you complete the tasks you are rewarded with a coin. The main tasks of the level are to save various baby creatures that Feathers McGraw has in cages suspended over acid and chasms and the like before you can go to the next level, if you call up the menu there is a tasks option you can look at that tells you what you have to do in the level and also tells you what you have still to do before you progress to the next level which is a good feature and is very helpful indeed.
All in all I would say this is a really good game and as I live in the city where Nick Park the creator of Wallace and Gromit was born I have to be support a fellow Prestonian.
