GameCube sequel = A derivative letdown. |

I honestly don't know why people buy nintendo sequels. They are all derivative and have nothing new to do. Now, on to Double Dash. It is a simple rehash of Mario Kart 64, which was a rehash of the original Mario Kart. There is not enough new content to warrant a new game, but that has never stopped Nintendo. In itslef it is an alright game, but I am rating it lowly because it such a simple revisiting of another game. Graphics are O.K but not up to the New Generation console standard. Sound is, yet again, derivative. Gameplay is fun but nothing new, it is also based heravily around luck, which I hate. Lifespan is short, as it does not have any good content. Fun factor is relatively high, I will admit that. Originality 0/10. Value is low.
My conclusion is = don't get it! And if you do not have a latest generation console get a PlayStation 2 or XBox, or you will regret it!

As a nintendo fan, I usually get quite excited when a new game comes out especially Zelda or Mario Kart. (Zeldas good, but far too easy!) - Mario Kart has some cool features but they're missed out on a few classic elements of the original. The battle modes were one of the best features, and they just seem a bit boring now, the battle courses are a bit uninspiring apart from the one with the pipes, and as such I haven't played them as much as I would have if they had done it right. Some of the race courses could do with some improvement, but they're not bad, the star cup is pretty crazy. It does annoy me though when you're boosting past another charcter at breakneck speed, yet they are still right behind u and take over within seconds. I still like it, but it could have been so much better - stop being lazy nintendo, it doesn't suit ya!

What a Brilliant Game! The best game on Gamecube, hands down. The best BGM in the game has got to be on Mushroom bridge and Mushroom City, It kicks! This game beats F-zero on the fun meter any day and the graphics are amazing. It could definitly last for a few years, especially due to the excellent multiplayer. There are three modes this time, Baloon Battle, Shine theif and Bob-omb blast, and there are 4 arenas: Cookie land, Block City, Nintendo Gamecube and Pipe Plaza and its rumoured that you can unlock Luigi's Mansion too. Speaking of unlocking things, you have to unlock Toad this time by doing a lot in one player Grand Prix which is harder than ever because opponents fire all weapons and have pretty good accuracy. I would give it 97% Well Done Nintendo!!!!

It's been some time since the days of Mario Kart 64, so Double Dash is more then a welcome sight. The game is beautiful and plays even better. It feels like a perfect mix between the past Mario Kart experiences. It feels slightly slower then Mario Kart 64 but that's probobly realistic since since this time around there's two people in one kart. The two people kart system is flawless in design and strangely feels almost natural. It also adds a little more depth to the challenge of choosing your characters. Another plus is that you can do Grand Prix mode cooperatively with one person driving and the other riding shotgun. Overall it is an intensely fun game that will provide hours of multiplayer entertainment in the years to come.

I cant believe that anyone would consider double dash better than the original snes mariokart. Sure the graphic and sounds are better, but when it comes to gameplay super mario kart on snes was ten times better. So much more skill was involved in the original, now so much is down to luck, especially because the you don't actually hop when you push the "R" button. Hopping around at incrdible speeds on tiny tight cornered courses was so much more thrilling than long straights and wide, slow powerslides which we find in double dash. Sure ive still spent hours on double dash as i did with mariokart 64 and super curcuit. But these 3 still miss the mark when compared to the enjoyment and skill required to master the snes version.

it was awsomley spectactular and just plane cool everything from the new dk mountin to the amazing rambow road and i was verry impresed at how you could cary several items at once and the specal weapons are just wow i cant wate to get home from school and start playing of corse maby this game is the reason why my girlfriend left me maby i wasnt paying that much attention to her i was to buisy winning the mirror mode witch is harder than any of the orignals and i was also impressed at how diffcult the levels were im not saying that im a video game god but i beat the other games in a matter of 12 hours straight i know some of you might think i have a problem and i do my problem is that i have to leave my gamecube at home.

This game rocks! The new weapons are great, especially the character specials. I can't really see anything wrong with this game. Racing 1-8 people together is really awsome. Still the battle mode levels could be tweaked a bit, but nothing to frown too much about. The computer enemies still "cheat" to win but it was expected. I mean who can get three blue shells shot at you in a row. Anyway I had no trouble beating the cups. I think everyone loves the challenge of Double Dash. Everyone could beat Mario Kart 64 but you have to be a good racer to get all 1st places on all cup mode alone on 150cc (even though I still think 100cc is harder). Hope Nintendo makes another one, but until then go Yoshi, Diddy, Toad, and Koopa.

Mario Kart Double Dash is, by far the best game I've played in the new consoles. The game feels like the old school Mario Karts, but with enhanced features. New features include the abilty to use two racers at the same time and unlock many secret tracks and cars. This game is fun, not just for young kids, or RPG geeks, but for everyone who wants to pick up a controller.
You must play this game, it will suck hours of your life, and you will like it. This game will then suck hours of your friends lives, and they will like. I say, if you don't play this game becuase it is childish, then perhaps you should pack up your video game systems and sell them on ebay, buy a cane and talk about the old days.

Although it isn't the best game, it isn't far from it. A lot of people say the battles are aweful. Not me. The Bob-omb battle mode is so COOL! I've only just got the game for Christmas, and I reckon with 3 of me mates, I could stay on there so long that my PS2 would get a little dusty (It would take a while though, PS2's are good as well!) I gave it a 9 because you cannot play Single Races against the computers. If you want to face the COMs, you have to do a Grand Prix. It dissappointed me a bit. The same for Mario Kart 64. On the GBA version, Super Circuit, they did allow single races against COMs. Apart from that though, MKDD is a good game, in my opinion.

Some of my friends think it's stupid, but I like it. The graphics are good, the double-drivers thing is cool, and the new courses are fun to race on. True, I had quit a few similarities to the old versions, but I still love it! You should give it a chance. And don't listen when people try to tell you it's too baby-ish, because it's not. So okay, it's not Halo, but it's more fun than lots of games I could name:) Warning: Once played for 20 minutes or more, can get addictive ;) Bottom line: BUY IT! It really is worth it. Besides, guess what this one has that the others don't? You get to unlock stuff! Yup. It's really fun:)

Excellent courses and karts and great items to be used,mariokart doubledash is a beautiful idea with the 2 characters together and the graphics were brilliant.The only problem was that i finished it fully in 15 hours but it was a inspiring 15 houts.not only that but my freinds freind bought it so i didnt have to pay for it which is an added brucie bonus for me.My mate john says that it was much better than the super nintendo version but i think its very easy to top that version. I hope there will be another installment of mariokart on nintendos next console.Reto craiiig david signing out and a proper bo 2004 selecta.

I think this is the best game for the gamecube by far.i had this game the first day it came out and i still play it even thow i have compleated it by winning all the charecters, maps and new kartes. My good looking girlfriend helped me do this(Hayley).I hope that u all can get as good as me on it some day Dan the man.I am called a game addict maybe because im on games 24 7 .My best game at the moment is socom online this is also a wicked game. The last mario kart was kinda boring and the courses where to short and i found it easy to beat a matter affact after i beat it the first time i deleted the game from the memory card and started over and beat it in the first day. On the other hand the courses are almost double as long and have more shortcuts and side roots.The only downside is that the battle stages arnt that fun. The old battle stages were much funner because in the new one there not many places to hide it kinda out in the wide open.
Yet overall it is better because the stages are longer, and harder to beat...

The game maintained some of the great aspects from the from old nintendo series. i think the 2 chars per kart is cool..worst thing about the game BATTLE modes are not as fun as old mario kart. Also how come they didnt remake the ghost level? The background colors are cool and rainbow road looks awesome.The graphics are great. im 20 yrs old and me and my other 4 roomies in college play this game all day long.very good finals relaxer :P .i traded my ps2 in for cube..so go figure! the game is worth it and i hope nintendo can make some type of online gaming similar to ps2 and xbox.

This game is the greatest one. If i had to compare this to the first one i'd give this a 100 out of 100 and give the old one just 5 out of 100. This game is full of cheats codes and shortcuts that will keep you off of your seat in excitement.....eXtReMe EXITEMENT. Mario Kart double dash is named after a trick called double dash(don't know from where). Well for all you gamers i'd reccomend to get this.( Just to give you a Hint 2 of the secret characters are Petey Pirahna and King Boo). Fun and Greatness in one game. Now, could it be any better. (Hope Not)!

I thought this was a great game! I had never played Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64 but this is the most fun Game Cube game ever! I love figuring out all of the short cuts and racing other computers(i hate that peach!)My friends and I play this for hours! If you don't like it because of graphics or something, why would you care what the screen looks like, or what sounds The game makes; it's just really fun! You should just kick back relax and enjoy the game instead of complaining about it. I think that everyone should get this gameon game cube (only $100).

DD is the best version so far it has all the game features needed plus some extras to make it as competitive as possible. Some people find the lack of over defensive items a set back, however I have noticed this makes the game much closer. I could'nt find anyone to play with on the first 2 versions b/c no one wants to get crushed everytime you play. I'm really good and still other people can get their shots in or even win a round because of DD's chaotic action. It makes the replayability score go through the roof and i for one thankyou nintendo staff.

Ok seriously this game at 50cc is simple, at 100cc there is a big jump in difficulty. By 150cc your thinking "What the hell..." and then by mirror mode when the same characters win all the races you don't, or are coming second if you win the race, your computer is in bits on the floor! I wonder if anyone can tell me that they think its actually fun when your winning a race the whole way through but when you get to the end you get totally hammered by every weapon imaginary!
It starts off a really cool game by it definately falls short of full marks!

Mario Kart n64 was an ok version but I still loved it. Ok , some people will probably think I'm crazy when I say this but Mario Kart : Double Dash Is 10 times better than the oringinal, the graphics are better,the courses are better, the v.s. is better, the charaters are better, and the karts are better. Ok, what can I say it is all better than the oringinal. I play the game almost every day that I am so close to beating it! If u want to e-mail me for tips go ahead my e-mail adress will be attached. WHen it first came out I thought lets buy it. I havn't played those games for ages! When I first played it I didn't what to expect. Then when I went deeper into the game it got more addictive ( because of this game I have to wear glasses)
The graphics are amazing, the characters are lovable and even better the karts look better. Even though it has a few more extras then the previous mario kart games I still thought it was exactly the same. But it dosn't matter I can past these cold rainy days by happily enjoying the game for hours!
