A Brilliant game I never get tired of. | | ZoE from Redditch, England. says (19/Apr/2004): | As soon as I first played this game I thought: "This is way better than I thought it would be." I have had it for almost a month and I still get that same excitement that I got when I fist played it!
I love the scenery and all the new people you can meet! 10/10! My cow's a bit grumpy but that doesn't matter. I used to get bored with the other harvest moon games- always looking after the crops with grumpy cows+chickens... But on this one all you have to do is plant one tree for plenty of $$$!
I also love the ducks. They sell for $500 and breed easily! The goat is annoying, I must say, but shes an OK pet.
All my friends who have played on it are hooked and are always begging to come round :-). I reccomend you play it!!!

Well I am making another review because I dont feel that I got out how good this game is in the other review. Number one its the best Harvest Moon game and I have played alot of Harvest Moon games. Here are some more tips... One the goat that you can buy from Van in your first year of your second chapter will give you milk for some time and then it will stop and you cant sell it it will only be your pet. If you become good friends with some people your kid might have a talent for what their job is for instance I am married to Muffy and my son has a talent for art because I became friends with Sabastian the Butler who likes art. Of course my son also tells me he wants to be a farmer like me. Well thats it for now. Please BUY THIS GAME I know you will LOVE it.

There is a variety of cows and bulls to choose from and their are now ducks and goats.Chickens are really easy to take care of. I have 13 right now and 8 on there way to be incubated. They sell for a lot too.
Hint: Befriend Ramona and she will give you a cat in the second chapter.
Hint2: To get fast money, buy a fishing pole and fish by the water fall.
The best is you have a kid and the friends that u have influences what profession your kid will have.
In Harvest Moon, you have a choice of three wives. The easiest one to get is Muffy, hardest is Nami, and the middle is Celia. If you don't marry Nami, she will move. If you don't marry Celia, she will marry Vesta's brother. Choose carefully.
In the begining, I made a ton of money off of fish. I caught a Big Yamume and that sells for 1,000 dollars.

This game is real long too so it will take you a long time to beat.I got this game last month when i wanted a fighting game but i9 like tgis game better. Hint 1: golden wool: bring ur sheep outside and push it to the watering throff and then take the brush and press y to wash and then use the electric clippers to cut the wool.
Hint 2: If you want a horse you need to be good to your livestock and in the summer takakura will give u a horse
| Woo hoo! Review time! | | Vinny McVinny from New York, USA says (11/Apr/2004): | This has got to be, by far, the best game in the Harvest Moon series. There are a couple of reasons why I believe this to be true!
First off, you live out your entire life on the farm. Your life can only be as good or as bad as you make it. You have a choice of three girls to marry, all with equally interesting personalities and pasts, and depending on which girl you marry, you will have a child who you will grow up and take over the farm, should you influence the child to do so! Taking over the farm isn't the only thing your child can do for a living. There are up to six different career paths that your child can end up doing based on how you raise him.
Another interesting feature of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life are the Hybrid Crops. Once you befriend the plan Tartan, you will be able to mix different crops for interesting results. Never before could you have done that in a Harvest Moon game, and hybridizing in this game will be the only way you'll be able to rake more money in from farming. Also, trees are featured in this game as well, and as long as you water and care for the tree until it's fully grown, it will yield crops for you once a year.
Taking care of cows might be a bit more tedious and involved than in previous games, but that's a part of the challenge for me, personally. The different breeds of cow that you have to choose from in this game also determine the type of milk you'll get from the cow, and factors such as caring for the cow will determine the qualitiy. There are also new animals in this version of Harvest Moon, including the goat (which I will not get into here, because I hate that thing) and ducks. You can also choose your dog in the beginning of the game, and if you're friends with certain villagers, you'll even get a cat and a chiuaha.
All this, including new buildings to make on the farm, as well as the many, many different characters to interact with and all the different ways your game could end... Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is probably by far the best in the entire series. You live life the way you want to. And you will only have an ending as good as the life that you lead.

I cant think of much to put so i will give hints for those who are stuck.Tip no.1, when you propose on the first year you might want to know you dont get married till the end of the year.tip .2 nami is the hardest one to get, so try makeing her jealous and propose to the other girls.I am getting stuck so could anyone tell me how to get in the brown shed next to the chicken coop. I am running out of room so i will just stop typeing and say,"HARVEST MOON ROCKS"!
| One of the BEST Games EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | A gamer from New York says (24/Mar/2004): | I got Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life the day it came out in stores (in the U.S.A that is) and I tell it is one of the BEST Harvest Moon games and one of the BEST GAMES I have ever played. My brother married Celia and I married Muffy. In my opinion Nami is the hardest to get, Celia is the second hardest, and Muffy is the easiestto get to marry you. Me and my brother both have baby boys who will age along with our characters. I have a barn full of animals and alot of Chickens and Roosters. I still want to know how to get a Duck? Oh and how do you get that locked shack by the Big Field open? Here is some pointers. The two smaller fields on each side of the Chicken Coop are best for trees (you can buy the seeds at Vestas farm) and the big field is best for regular plants. If you want to wash your cows, bulls, sheep, Goat (you can get a goat from Van the salesman after your married), and etc you need to have them by the lonf water filled thing in the pasture, then get out your brush and the y button should say wash. Oh and feed your Dog every day. I don't want to tell you everything cause I think you should figure the rest out yourself. If you don't have this Game and you are reading this than GO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has GREAT grafics and is REALY realistic!

The lifespan thing is a little strange, you don't age for the first 3 chapters.Nuntn' special with the sound. Its super-addictive, im on the 3rd chapter and ive only been playing for 2 weeks... oh by the way, cows stop giving milk 40 days after having a baby, for the folks who asked. also, Tartan appers if you walk in Takakura's house while he's in there during the 2nd chapter. Someone tell me, when can you race your horse? And why do the Grapes grow on a tree? I thought they grow on vines... and, is there anyone else in hyperspace that thinks there is something very wrong with Daryl? I know he's crazy, but trying to harness lightning? No. There is one more thing, WHATS IN THAT LOCKED BUILDING???? I ran my horse in to it, hit it with my hoe and sicle (well, at least ATTEMTED to), yet it still doesnt open! ok, i think thats all for now. oh ya. This game is cool.

Especilly when you marry Celia, because she helps around the farm, and your son is really cute! Also, your son grows up, and you get additions on the house, just like in real life. I've had this game for like 2 weeks, and i've played like everyday! Some helpful tips....get a seed maker, and plant grapes and peaches, and then sell the seeds you get from it to van.... you make a HUGE profit. Ive hade like almost 100,000g from selling apple and orange seeds to him. HARVEST MOON IS THE BEST!!!!

GO Celia for best wife and in response to whoever it was who posted a review before me buy the cow a miricale potion it will not die but it is pretty useless if it does not give milk. After you give your cow the miracle potion it will be pregnant for around 30 days and after it gives birth it will start producing milk twice a day again.
My top tip for dairy farming would be to buy a food processing room and only make butter because it sells for more, The higer the quality the better

I love this game for so many reasons! My favorite, is that there's chapters to your life, and they just keep on getting more and more fascinating! Another thing is, this game will not last about six days until you pass it, this game will last a long (but an enjoyable) time! Another thing? You can raise your kids! This isn't like the other Harvest Moon games where you marry and it's over. Your kids can take over! But another great thing --- different things happen! For example, theres a mad scientist in town, he may either be spying on you or trying to trap something, so it's all different! And, three different potential brides! Nami (hardest), Celia (medium leveled), and Muffy (easiest) I married Nami in one file and Celia in the other, and I'll tell you now, Nami isn't easy!
If you don't have this game get it! My friend got this and when I went to her house I was all like "Having a blast delievering that milk to storage?" But when I got it, it was just so much fun I can't explain!
My tip: Gustafa gives you the Strange Sickle and Romana gives you the Woooden Watering Can...but that's enough! Email me for tip exchanges!
| Harvest Moon: It's A Wonderful Life Review | | Nami_Is_Cheating_On_Me from Nowheres Ville You Creep says (18/Jul/2004): | Harvest Moon: It's a WONDERFUL life for gamecube is indeed a WONDERFUL game. It has superb graphics that make the game seem like it real life. May I add that the graphics also make the children more adorable ^^? I am married to Nami and have a son who is a todler named Benny. I am in chapter two, lmost in chapter three. There are many events in this game along with a lunatic scientist *^. There are so many awesome qualities about the game that I could go on forever.
Why do I say that Nami is cheating on me? Simply, because she is. She goes everyday to Gustafa's hut and I find that highly suspiscious. ^^ lol.
I must admit, the music selection is low, but if you link up your game boy advance game, friends of mineral town, I am told you can get more music seletion.
I ad another file where I married Celia. She was a tad boring since I never saw her leave the house once so I started over and married Nami.
My sister has a file and has JUST proposed to Muffy. personlly, I think Muffy SUCKS with a capital S.
The biggest tip I can offer is to buy a banana seed and plant it. Than befriend Daryll (ad scientist) and get a seed maker from him. In the summer, gather up all your bananas and put them in the seed maker. Now you will have a bundle of seeds. PLants the seeds and sell the rest to Van for 750 a seed. I made over 30000 from one tree in one season by doing this. Now I have around twenty trees and Im not going to plant my seeds, just sell them and well...you do the math.
I hope you enjoy this game, it is VERY addictive. Well atleast to me it is. ^^

I just got the game so i'm only on my first summer. i already have Celia at 4 red hearts. I like the fact that you can ride your horse and you can choose which dog you want at the beginning(i got the pointy eared one). This time there is only 3 girls you can choose from but that's plenty. Harvest Moon 64 had 5 girls to marry. Celia and Muffy are easy to get but Nami is almost impossible. I'm surprised you cant marry Lumina but she's too young i guess, even though she has a crush on you. I can't find the blue feather. Nic, Nak, and Flak said they put it on my shelf but it's nowhere to be found. Once i find it i will propose to Celia. Could someone tell me where to find the blue feather. I would aprreciate it. Oh yeah and someone on this site from Tokyo said that they want to be able to pick if your boy or girl in Harvest Moon. I have good news for you. Natsume is remaking A Wonderful Life and Friends of Mineral town except you will be a girl instead of a guy. guess that means you will have to marry guys. Flowers won't work there.
| Reluctantly the BEST Harvest Moon game | | Greg from New York says (15/Apr/2004): | Im no rookie to the Harvest Moon universe, and as such I have mixed feelings about this game, especially when comparing it to Harvest Moon 64 a game which i worked long and hard on to master it's every aspect. Make no mistake Harvest Moon games rock and are among my favorite games.
The graphics in this game are better than its Nintendo 64 predecessor, but that goes with out saying. However the two games counterbalance each other in a variety of different ways. I'll put them to the test to show which of the two are truly the greatest of Harvest Moon games. Because to the true gamer, graphics arent everything.
Harvest Moon A Wonderful life as stated excels in graphics, but lacks in other aspects. One being marriage, in this game there were 3 choices, Nami (Hardest), Celia (Fairly easy) and Muffy (The easiest). In Harvest Moon 64 there are 5. In Harvest Moon 64 there are several fun, interactive festivals that you are informed about before hand. In A wonderful life there are a few boring ones you need to discover on your own or check your calendar to discover.
In the reality factor, A Wonderful Life wins, but in my opinion barely so, Lifestock, Crops etc, etc, raising your child. Are harder to maintain it's true, but in the other game you needed to gather wood, cash, etc to buy extensions and such, A Wonderful Life gives you one in pretty much every chapter. Plus again, The 64 counterpart is given its reality more so by its sheer number of festivals and such, marriage and child, though not as realistic as A wonderful life also boosts this rating.
Glitch wise, A Wonderful Life wins, the previous game had several bugs that, however minor, shouldve been worked out some longtime HM veterans may have noticed this.
For some odd reason this game didn't captivate me as much as the previous 64 one did, I dont play this game nearly as much as the other one, but i still do enjoy this one. In the other I got through 5 years in one day, thats how amazing it was to me. Maybe it has to do with age or busy factor or something.
In difficulty and complications A Wonderful Life wins, however this can be a bad thing, the sheer detail and difficulty in raising up various cattle, crops etc, makes it far harder to make money in this game than the other. Which can affect the enjoyment factor in a positive or negative way depending on the patience and/or personality of the player.
All in all Harvest Moon A Wonderful life lacks alot of what the previous game did, but well makes up for it in a variety of other aspects, which though limited, make up for it because their pretty much the same things. Graphics are awesome, Realism is incredible, HUGE Hybrid systems for plants allow new plants and more cash, New animals including several varities of cows, ducks after your second year, and a blasted goat you probably dont want to buy because you'll kick yourself later (If he doesn't first) and of course, the ever popular marriage, and even more enjoyable than the last system of watching your child grow and become what he has been influenced to be by you and those around him. Choose your friends wisely and employ good parenting skills, Take good care of your animals for their rewards for being healthy are great, Grow your crops and reap their bountiful harvests. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life whether narrowly or by a long shot is undoubtably THEE best Harvest Moon entry thus far and may always be. That'll do Natsume, That'll do.

It is to addictive to not play. And i love it. there is a lot of work to do but that just makes a more sureal experience if you like farming. It deserves a score of a PERFECT 10 out of 10. That is my favorite game and it always will be until there is a new better one....(IF) i will play it until i finish it, and cant seem to stop. I know it is my favorite game because i cant put the controller down. NOT LIKE I WANT TO THOUGH.

You cant goof off or else you are gonna pay for it! You get to buy and milk cows (different kinds) and you get a horse, sheep and a goat!!! You can have ducks also. I am so an animal lover so I todaly like the animal part. I like that you can have a whole family, a wife child, two dogs , cat, and a lisard! I recomend this game to everyone that has an intrest in life styles. To many that havent played this are missing out like crazy! If you are thinking of buying this you should. Well, as long as you dont have a big brother that beats it before you do and shows you what happends! !!!MAJOR SPOILER!!!

Someone told me a bunch of spoilers and then I was all bummed out because the things they told me could of been such a surprize...:( But still it is still my fave game in the world! So i had to order it online.. Any way when i played the game..the graphics were excellent and the story layout was great.. It is more realisic then any other game i have ever played..You can have a son that actully grows up and helps you on the farm..you could be playing this game not stop for hours and hours... thats how fun it is .. it also divides into 6 chapters spanning 30 years..if you dont have this game.. go to the store or order it online asap..hoped it helped.. iight one love payce

Nami is the hardest to get to marry you, Celia is the second hardest, and Muffy is the easiest. The bigest field is the most fertile. To get a duck you need to wait till after the summer of your second year and can't have six chickens/roosters in your chicken coop. Then the duck will come. Thats all you will have to figure out the rest on your own. This game is the best SO GO BUY IT.................

I NEED HELP, though! I don't know how to get past the second chapter! I've heard that you have to influenceyour son on what profession he will want by having the right friends. Is this true?
