Harvest Moon???(whats up with the moonXD) AWL | | Ken(for short) from Philippines says (29/Mar/2006): | Anyways I am a great fun of Harvest moon that I have mostly all the series.
Harvest Moon AWL got me pretty much addicted when I borrowed it from my friend. First of all I like the fact that you can get married and have a baby kid. But if you have the Special Edition there is a chance of getting a girl.
What I kinda dislike about it is how easy you can woo a girl.
Reality check wooing a girl in real life is far harder.(Challenging) Anyways I have three files
1.Celia-Is nice and cute.Celia caught my eyes the first time I got to know her. The scenes with her are just so wonderful.Anyway I married her because I dont like a woman to be force to marry someone they dont like(yeah im to much of a good guy). The kid will be down to earth wearing green clothes. There is a chance the kid will be a farmer or a rancher.(AM I REALLY EXPLAINING SOMETHING HERE OR IM JUST TELLING A STORY)Anyway Celia's name reminds me of CecilleXD whoa Im way out of subject...okay continuing....
2.Muffy-Shes the oldest 30 yrs old. Hey age doesnt matter when it comes to love(yes im an idiot)Im wondering can someone tell me how old the main character is??? I keep thinking my player is only 16....or 26
Anyway tips for Muffy..She likes flowers and if your really want to win her heart catch a Big Huchep. (she wont accept any other fishes except for that one) Shes so easy to woo-_-; (I kinda hate that) Anways shes a flirt she called me Sexy (O_O should I be happy that she called me sexy?XD)
Muffy's kid wearing blue clothes. -_-; I got tired that the kid kept running around and around so HyperXD.
3Nami-I like her name.Nami is the hardest whoa. If you have no problem with a smart, alcaholic woman then marry her.
Shes likes articfacts that you digged from the dig site. She likes it when you cook for her(The one that turns out good okayXD) For some reason Nami is a little bit Boyish. But hey shes pretty smartXD. Last time in one scene I had to look for her she ran away but went back...Shes forgot because she was hungry...Man she got me worried for a sec there.
Anyway. To increase her feelings for you propose to other girls.
And then say your just joking. (It works really ^_~)Jealousy wins. Then she loves you more.
Nami's Kid is shy and quiet. (more likely he will be a scholar like the people in the digging site.)
The one thing I hated about this game is the cow!
Grr. They made it harder taking care of cows. My cow stopped giving me milk. I wanted to sell it but I can't. SO i tried resorting to starving itXD.(Yes I am being cruel to it but its not giving me milkXD) Anways if you want it to go back to giving you milk here is what you do....
Buy a bull then wait for the thing to become an adult.
Then make the cow pregnant....ou have to wait a while because once it give birth its giving milk to the baby....AFter that then it will go back to the long lasting giving of milk.

Tips to how to egt rich fast

If your friend with Daryl he ill give you the seed maker. When you have the seed maker put the bananas inside it. One banana give you two seed. (each seed if you sell it cost 750g)$_$

Okay Im like giving advices and tips instead of reviewing the game. Well its totally addicting even if Im like 14 yrs old its still a cool game to playXD...
The graphics is very nice. I dont really care much about sounds.
Yes I have this game for about a uear now and I am still playing and addicted to it.
Over all Im giving it a 10. But the story plot from the beggining stink. (Gotta take over the farm cause your father died>_<) The same plot for most Harvest Moon game. I just wish they make it more interesting more neighbors and more out comes.
A great game I suggest you buy the game now or While reading this please play it.(Buy the game!! I got so adiicted to the game I bought it. The game called Harvest Moon Another Wonderfule life the main character is a girl) Girls who likes Harvest moon A wonderful life I suggest you buy the AnotherWF.
(No I dont have that game Im stick to Harvest Moon A wonderful life)
Oh yeah by the end of the game after that there is a free play^^
So you will continue to play even when the chapters ended.
| A really good game | | Xavier from Colorado Springs, USA says (1/Jan/2005): | Well, lets just start off with this: This game is a very addicting game to those of you who love real-life games. There is a good variety of things to do: From raising animals and planting crops; to getting married and making friends. It's also a very realistic game; having seasons in which crops can grow, animals that must be let out, and much more.
Money challenge: 10/10
One of my favorite things in this game is the neuteral way to make money. When I say this, I mean there is a good amount of ways to make money. You can sell dairy products from your cattle, sell crops grown, sell fish caught, and even sell fodder that is made by cutting down grass in a huge field. Plus, theres never a time in which you can just sit there and make billions of dollars. In order to make money, you must spend money.
Storyline: 5/10
I really don't like the storyline in the game. I can sum the whole reason for having your character owning the farm into one sentence. "Your father, who owned a farm, died, and now you must run the farm with your father's friend." This is pretty much the whole beginning storyline. Then you must get married, have a kid, raise the kid, and so on. Not much story their either.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game are really well done. Shadows move slowly and gradually, the animals look VERY realistic, and even the hard-to-animate water looks well-done. In fact, I wish I could give graphics an even higher rating than a 10/10. The grass is good, too, as it moves in the wind judgeing by the amount of wind.
Sounds: I'm gonna have to divide this up into two subratings.
Animal sounds: 9/10
The animal sounds are really good. I wouldn't doubt that the programmers actually went to a farm and recorded the animal sounds in high-definition recordings.
Other sounds: 3/10
You pick something up: BOINK! Put something down: BOINK! Catch a fish: BOINK! The sounds don't fit very well and are very repetative.
Addiction rating: 9/10
I give this rating because I very much games that are super addicting and you can't leave for more than five minutes. I them because there are better things in life besides video games such as schoolwork and sports. So, with that said, lets get on to the rating.
I gave it a 9/10 because it is almost just in the middle of "ADDICTING!!!!!" and "I'll play the game for five minutes a day". It is a VERY fun game, but it gets annoying after playing it for 2-4 "days" (When I say "days", I mean days in the game. Each minute in real life is one hour in the game. So 2-4 days is about 1-2 hours). Then you get a chance to take a break for a while, and you can come back and play it.
Overall rating: 8/10
Now that I've rated the game, lemme tell you some hints.
1. Raise cattle, and lots of 'em. Cattle give you (if they are healthy) around 9 milks a day. Each normal milk sells for about 100 gold. Thats about 900 gold a day (with a normal cow). If you have better cows and better grades (Grade "B" milk as apposed to Grade "A"), they sell for even more.
2. Get a seed-maker. Befriend the crazy scientist in the game and he will give you a seed maker. Befriend him by giving him fish. A seed maker will take crops and turn them into seeds. When you have a seed-maker, plant trees and harvest them in the correct season (you can plant trees any time of the year, but you can only harvest them at certain times). Once you get the fruit from the trees, just make seeds out of them and sell them. This is much better than selling the actual fruit because the fruit sells for MUCH less than the seeds do.
3. Marry Celia. Win her heart by giving her flowers every day. Her diary is in the tall building in Vesta's farm, in the upstairs room, next to a bed. Her son will be hardworking.
Thats all I'm going to give away now.
| Reluctantly the BEST Harvest Moon game | | Greg from New York says (15/Apr/2004): | Im no rookie to the Harvest Moon universe, and as such I have mixed feelings about this game, especially when comparing it to Harvest Moon 64 a game which i worked long and hard on to master it's every aspect. Make no mistake Harvest Moon games rock and are among my favorite games.
The graphics in this game are better than its Nintendo 64 predecessor, but that goes with out saying. However the two games counterbalance each other in a variety of different ways. I'll put them to the test to show which of the two are truly the greatest of Harvest Moon games. Because to the true gamer, graphics arent everything.
Harvest Moon A Wonderful life as stated excels in graphics, but lacks in other aspects. One being marriage, in this game there were 3 choices, Nami (Hardest), Celia (Fairly easy) and Muffy (The easiest). In Harvest Moon 64 there are 5. In Harvest Moon 64 there are several fun, interactive festivals that you are informed about before hand. In A wonderful life there are a few boring ones you need to discover on your own or check your calendar to discover.
In the reality factor, A Wonderful Life wins, but in my opinion barely so, Lifestock, Crops etc, etc, raising your child. Are harder to maintain it's true, but in the other game you needed to gather wood, cash, etc to buy extensions and such, A Wonderful Life gives you one in pretty much every chapter. Plus again, The 64 counterpart is given its reality more so by its sheer number of festivals and such, marriage and child, though not as realistic as A wonderful life also boosts this rating.
Glitch wise, A Wonderful Life wins, the previous game had several bugs that, however minor, shouldve been worked out some longtime HM veterans may have noticed this.
For some odd reason this game didn't captivate me as much as the previous 64 one did, I dont play this game nearly as much as the other one, but i still do enjoy this one. In the other I got through 5 years in one day, thats how amazing it was to me. Maybe it has to do with age or busy factor or something.
In difficulty and complications A Wonderful Life wins, however this can be a bad thing, the sheer detail and difficulty in raising up various cattle, crops etc, makes it far harder to make money in this game than the other. Which can affect the enjoyment factor in a positive or negative way depending on the patience and/or personality of the player.
All in all Harvest Moon A Wonderful life lacks alot of what the previous game did, but well makes up for it in a variety of other aspects, which though limited, make up for it because their pretty much the same things. Graphics are awesome, Realism is incredible, HUGE Hybrid systems for plants allow new plants and more cash, New animals including several varities of cows, ducks after your second year, and a blasted goat you probably dont want to buy because you'll kick yourself later (If he doesn't first) and of course, the ever popular marriage, and even more enjoyable than the last system of watching your child grow and become what he has been influenced to be by you and those around him. Choose your friends wisely and employ good parenting skills, Take good care of your animals for their rewards for being healthy are great, Grow your crops and reap their bountiful harvests. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life whether narrowly or by a long shot is undoubtably THEE best Harvest Moon entry thus far and may always be. That'll do Natsume, That'll do.
~Greg Graves
| Could be better, could be worse | | Leigh from Pittsboro, USA says (27/Mar/2005): | I am a big fan of Harvest Moon. I've played three of the gameboy versions, 64, BTN, STH, and, of course, AWL.
Of all of the ones I've played, this is my second least favorite, only surpassed in least favoritism by STH. Here's my opinions on why:
Graphics (9/10)
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I love the original 64 style, but this is just pretty, almost as beautiful as STH. But this isn't about STH. This is about AWL.
The facial expressions make it lots of fun. <3
Sound (6/10)
I wasn't too pleased with the sound. When you go anywhere near the trail that allows you to link up with the Gameboy FoMT, it just gets kinda weird. Eerie. Then again, you don't go down there too often.
If memory serves, the only real music is at the farm? There might have been other places where there was music, but I can only remember music on the farm. The record player was a cute touch, being able to change the music when it got old, but not having more records available at certain times was a nuisance.
Gameplay (8/10)
God, could they have thought of a better idea? Long time to play, you get to raise your kid... *dreamy sigh* However, there are a few things that drag the score down.
1. The days get so tedious. Water your plants, tend your animals, water your plants again, run around like mad trying to give people gifts and court your female of choice, then sleep, water your plants, tend your animals... And you have to water your plants square by square by square by square...
2. The females. Yes, there's variation, but three females makes it a bit less fun. Either you get cold Nami, nice Celia, or flirty Muffy. But their conflicts made it... only somewhat fun. Celia's (does this count as a spoiler...?) arranged marriage, Nami's travelling habits, and Muffy's... flirtyness. (I suppose that's the end of the semi-spoilers) I miss Karen, Ann... and Cliff... <3 Cliff was the best of them all. Even though he wasn't a female you could marry. I always married Karen just so Cliff would marry Ann and would stay longer. x3
3. That cursed goat. One of the most evil aspects of the game.
4. The village. Who's bright idea was it to have the only way to actually sell things be through Van, or setting up a shop (which took me forever to figure out you could actually do)? Real smooth there. It made the game _so_ much better.
5. That weird thing with that bug. Something happened with my tree, and the bug came to yell at me, but it glitched and I couldn't see what it said. All I know is my tree died and my character made a weird face. But it's just a glitch, nothing life-alteringly huge.
6. The cow system. That just plain miffed me. I gave up on raising cows the moment I found out how it worked.
Overall (7.6/10)
I somewhat recommend it. If you're okay with tediousness, and a bit of irritation at certain aspects, go right ahead. You might enjoy it. I do enjoy the game, just have to stop sometimes because of either boredom or frustration.
| At first glance a childish game, but give it a chance and find the complexity | | Derek from Norwich Ct. USA says (21/Sep/2005): | It's amazing how such a simple looking game with a simple sounding theme can capture ones attention. At first glance Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life is somewhat childish and devoid of real content. However, I gave the game a chance one day and was hooked. There are some really strong points about the game. One, you don't have to kill anyone with a gun. The game is very relaxing once you get the hang of it. Two, the game is very satisfying in that when you create a crop, raise a cow, raise chickens, cook food ETC, you really feel like you accomplished something. Three, the game changes as time goes by, you really get a feeling like you're living the life of a farmer, the game isn't in your face action by any means, rather a calm journey into the life of a digital farm sim. Four, there are MANY hidden things in the game that you must discover, a quality of many Japanese RPG's. At first it seems there's almost nothing to do in the game, but as game time passes you discover many secrets and things that breath life into the game. It isn't action packed by any means, but there's definitely a mystery about the game that keeps me hooked.
Graphics: Simple and often child like, however the shadows and shading in the game is top notch, when it's summer, it really feels like summer, autumn feels like autumn etc. Night and day are distinct and evening time is beatifully lit.
Sound:Nothing impressive here, your standard Japanese RPG-ish soundtrack filled with little squeaks and blips made by NPC's in the game that only the Japanese can capture. I play with no music, just ambient sounds.
Gameplay:As good as it gets for a game of this nature. Plenty to discover, enough to do to keep one feeling like they accomplished something each game day, a visceral feeling of actually seeing the crops you create, the cattle you raise, the grass you cut etc.
One other thing I noticed is if you pay close enough attention you almost get a lesson as to what the Japanese hold dear to themselves. I could be wrong but I find it cute and charming that it seems the Japanese really have a feeling for cooking, It's adorable how much emphasis there is on cooking in this game. Every NPC loves food. I think that's really cool and kind of a simple cultural lesson about the Japanese that makes the game all that more endearing.
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, doesn't try to be an in your face kind of game, but it does exactly what it sets out to do, a farming simulator of great quality and simple charm.
| Fantastico! | | Valerie Jo from Gettysburg(SD) USA says (13/Oct/2005): | This is the best game I have ever played. It's graphics are superb, the sound is a little weak, the 3-D is amazing, there are barely any glitches(I did find that occasionally my cow spun around in circles and didn't stop), and you will be addicted!!! But no seriously you don't even have to play the game. I read a preview for this game in "Nintendo Power" and just had to have it. My brother made fun of me until he watched me play. Then he had to start his own file. My parents like to watch us play(and my parents don't understand didlysquat about video games). Some tips for you: Romana gives you 1. a cat 2. w watering can(use for trees they will grow faster); Wally gives you the ?weird? clippers; Grant gives you the alarm clock; Hardy gives you strange or weird sickle; Gustafa gives you the other sickle; Daryl gives you the seed maker; Vesta gives you the strange or the weird hoe; Tim gives you the other hoe; Ruby gives you spice; Galen gives you the "G" rod; Carter gives you an other dog; Mukumufu? gives you a lizard. In the second year Takakura will have Tartan inside his house. Tartan hybrid seeds. It works for all seeds even hybrided ones, ex. Potato and watermelon(in that order) make a bashber, while Tomato and potato(in that order) make a tobatama, and Tobatama and Bashber(in that order) make a crop that looks like a log or something that you name. What ever you do don't buy the tonto(stupid) goat until you are practically finished with the game because is stops producing milk after 40 days and you can't sell so it just ends up taking up space. There are like 10 cut scenes for Van that you can see is you walk into the Inn after he does. They are all about diets he's on and if you say the 1st option(the negative one) he wont open his shop until like 3:00 in the afternoon! So always be nice. Any way if you don't marry Nami she will leave but in the third year or chapter she will come back and you will get a cut scene when you walk into the bar at night. Any way it is a very fun, very addictive, you'll never want to put it down for the rest of your life, I wish my brother didn't go to colledge and take the gamecube with him because now I can't play it game. Buy it if you ever see it in a store because if you live in desolate places you will never see it ever again except on the internet.
| :DHarvest Moon:D | | Roxy Juju from Newyork, newyork Usa says (21/Feb/2005): | I think Harvest Moon is a really, really, really great game!! I rated it 8/10 because Its fun but I wish you could choose what you looked like!! Here is my review below:
1. In Chapter 2, go to Grant and Samantha's house at around 6 or 7 AM. Grant will be there. He will talk for a minute and then he will give you an alarm clock. You can now get up whenever you want!!
2. Press R twice to bring in the horse.
3. Most of you already know, but for those of you that don’t if you befriend Romana (give her flowers) and one day during the 2nd year she will come to you in the morning and give you a stray cat she has found.
4. If you own an animal long enough and always take it inside on rainy days and outside on sunny days it will learn to enter the pasture on good days and go into the barn on rainy days.
Note: This may take a while for the animals to learn.
5. During chapter 2 at 6pm enter the kitchen if your really close to your son your wife may suggest u give him a bath. (This doesn’t work daily though)
6. Make friends with Daryl. He likes fish (Especially Snelt), eggs (Especially Golden Eggs), bones, coins, and Earth Soup (Potatoe + Carrot). After the second time he fails trying to catch the monster, follow him back to his house and walk in. It should trigger a scene where he gives you a FREE seed maker.
7. Go to the mine alot and you will dig up tablet’s with symbols on it. Once you get all the tablets Carter will give you the dog. If you feed your dog every morning then while you are out around the town he will keep Murray out of your yard so he can't steal.
8. Get the Strange Sickle:
To get the strange sickle, you have to befriend Gustafa, the bard. He's the one in the big green hat who lives in the tent-house. Gustafa likes flowers of any kind, so give one to him every day. After about a month or two, enter his house, and a cutscene will ensue, in which you get the strange sickle. It is quite heavy,
possibly heavier than the heavy sickle, though it has some quality, which I haven't discovered yet.
Please email me because im having tones of trouble choosing a wife. I hear that Celia is the best but i think Muffy is prettier!!
| Woo hoo! Review time! | | Vinny McVinny from New York, USA says (11/Apr/2004): | This has got to be, by far, the best game in the Harvest Moon series. There are a couple of reasons why I believe this to be true!
First off, you live out your entire life on the farm. Your life can only be as good or as bad as you make it. You have a choice of three girls to marry, all with equally interesting personalities and pasts, and depending on which girl you marry, you will have a child who you will grow up and take over the farm, should you influence the child to do so! Taking over the farm isn't the only thing your child can do for a living. There are up to six different career paths that your child can end up doing based on how you raise him.
Another interesting feature of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life are the Hybrid Crops. Once you befriend the plan Tartan, you will be able to mix different crops for interesting results. Never before could you have done that in a Harvest Moon game, and hybridizing in this game will be the only way you'll be able to rake more money in from farming. Also, trees are featured in this game as well, and as long as you water and care for the tree until it's fully grown, it will yield crops for you once a year.
Taking care of cows might be a bit more tedious and involved than in previous games, but that's a part of the challenge for me, personally. The different breeds of cow that you have to choose from in this game also determine the type of milk you'll get from the cow, and factors such as caring for the cow will determine the qualitiy. There are also new animals in this version of Harvest Moon, including the goat (which I will not get into here, because I hate that thing) and ducks. You can also choose your dog in the beginning of the game, and if you're friends with certain villagers, you'll even get a cat and a chiuaha.
All this, including new buildings to make on the farm, as well as the many, many different characters to interact with and all the different ways your game could end... Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is probably by far the best in the entire series. You live life the way you want to. And you will only have an ending as good as the life that you lead.
| AWSOME- MARRIAGE GUIDE HERE :p | | A gamer from canada says (3/Apr/2007): | I recently rented Harvest Moon: A wonderful life. I love the game. I played it for days straight, and right after school too.
I'm now in chapter 5, got there in less then 3 days. i'm married to celia, but on my other account nami. I think nami is probably the best wife too. but i ended up marrying her by the
10th of fall. it took lots of hard work, so if you are interested in nami, she like fossils, and silver coins. Or home cooking, i think she like crops, some people say she gives it
to ruby and it doesnt effect her heart level. But I dissagree.
Or if you show the blue feather to other girls, and say no, or it's not for you. It will make nami like you more. if you are going for muffy shes really easy. give her milk or flowers once a day. You should have married her before the end of summer.
Celia like flowers or crops. You shouldve ,married her by the end of spring! :o LOL i ended up writing a guide. p.s if you cant get namis heart level up to 4 by winter, she will probably propose to you. LOL. I think if you have 2-3 hearts.
To check their hearts, you have to find their diaries.
Namis diary is in her room at the inn. enter the inn, go up the stairs, go to the room on the left, check the blue book on the stand by the radio. But this only works if nami is there, but she usually is outside. follow her around until she goes into the inn.
Celia's diary is in her room under her mattress. go to her farm, go into her house. climb the ladder, and click A infont of her bed. it should show you her diary.
Muffy's Diary is in the blue bar. go forwards as far as you can until you see a plant thing. press A. it should show her diary.
heart levels:
Green heart: this is the first heart you start off with. Basicly
you two are strangers.
One red heart: You are friends now.
Two red hearts: A crush is forming.
Three Red hearts: the crush is even bigger.
Four red hearts: the girl loves you and wants to marry you.
| I love this game!! | | Moose from Fairdale, USA says (29/May/2005): | Yeah. When we first bought this game, we all thought it looked boring.. confusing.. stupid... but then one day I was so bored I decided to give it a second chance. I got really into it once I figured out how to play it. Milking cows.. collecting your chickens' eggs.. finding ways of getting more pets.. I think it's a great game. I have never played any of the other Harvest Moon games, but I really love the graphics on this one. I love the night sky, who knew there'd be stars? That personally surprised me. One night, I even saw a red star. Not sure why it was red, but hey it was pretty cool.
Anyway, the lack of music didn't bother me at all. Not one bit. As a matter of fact I sold all of the records I've ever found because I'd rather have the money than music. I enjoy realistic games, which this game is. Except for the breeding of Sable, my cow. That was just.. disturbing.
I overall think this is one of the best games I've ever played. However there are a few little things I dislike about the game, although they don't bother me a lot. For example, you can only sell nondairy items to Van, and who knows when he'll show up? Also, I hate the dog I was stuck with. You have to take one in the beginning, then you can't sell it or give it away. Mine is named Jade, and the only thing she ever does is bark at random items and eat my failed dinners. Yes that's all I feed her. :D
Well, anyway, I overall LOVE this game and I'm pretty much addicted to it. Animal lovers will especially love it because the game is pretty realistic when it comes to raising them. They don't look realistic, although some are cute, but raising them is pretty realistic. I would recommend this game for people older than about.. probably like 10 unless you want to get stuck with the awkward "Sissy, why did the cow moo so loud?" as you breed them. O.o
| Overview | | Sakaki Onokawa from San Antonio Texas, USA says (27/Jan/2005): | Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
(Please understand that I grade games very harshly, a five is FANTABULOUS.)
As far as Game Cube goes, the graphics are pretty good. (Realistically, they aren't the best, but the interactivity is nice.) The storyline is pretty straightforward, and yet interesting at the same time. The whole game is a reflection of this one concept, simple, yet somehow.
Anywho, its great fun. Animal crossing would beat it if I had more spare time. And I'm sure most s would rather play as s but, still FUN.
The music is nice; the ambient sounds are very, very good. The interface is pretty sound, and the game maintains novelty throughout the whole experience.
The concept of farming (animals and plants) is good, the wealth of character relationships (for a game of its targeted age), the UI, the evolving story, and, most of all, the freedom of the game, makes it truly great. VERY fun game.
It all comes down to this. Harvest Moon, the entire series, has never been a serious game, or even top of the line in any way. But one thing that this game and the rest of the series has always aloud players to do is feel the world which they have purchased. Harvest Moon is jam packed with feeling. The moods of the changing day, the extras such as ambient sound, extra critters, etc. Their is a sense of totality to the place. And, although the area of play is rather small, the variety of play makes it worthwhile.
The only glitches I've encountered are in translation, no freezing or anything like that. A good game.
My advice to you. By this game, this game is worth its cost, I've enjoyed all the time I've invested in it, too.
(I just wished they'd translated it right. The errors are few and mostly gramatical, but then I can guess the Japnese anyways...)
| this is the best game i have ever played. | | maggie hall from arlington, USA says (15/Apr/2004): | This isn't just the best game cube game i have ever played, this is by far the best game i have ever played. I loved this game, because all the animals are so cute, the graphics are so real, and my satisfaction is filled. The animals look real, but in a cute, sweet kind of way. The graphics are great. No, they're perfect, no perfect is an understatement. The weather is so real, the rain, the snow, the sun, even the sunsets were great!!! The timing is perfect. The days aren't too long where I am waiting for the day to be over. The days aren't too short, either, where you are ripping your hair out because someone comes to buy your crops in about 5 minutes, and you are across town having a drink at the bar when you remember. This game is like the real country life, where you can slow down and relax. This game is also so unique!! Who would think that waiting for an egg to hatch or watering your plants in a game could be so interesting!!?? This game is just so fun! After I started playing this game for the first time one afternoon, I was playing till 2 in the morning, when i realized it was a school night!! Sleep is my favorite part of my day, and I woke up at 3:30 i the morning, just so that i could play before i had to go to school!! This game is also perfect for all ages! I'm 13, and I'm hooked to this game. My mom loves the sceneries in this game when she plays, my dad likes selling things to get money, and even my 2-year-old brother likes to ride the horse around and watches me play!!
To finish this off, all i have to say is that if i were left on a deserted island by myself, and i could only pick one thing to bring with me, i would bring my tv, game cube, and harvest moon: a wonderful life. (pretend that that is all one thing).
| Good Game | | Amanda from Maine,USA says (18/Nov/2004): | I will admit,Harvest Moon is a good game, but its not the best. It doesnt resemble "real life" and what happens in real life, and if u actually payed attention, there are glitches and spelling errors in the game. And who wants a farm without pigs and geese??.. if ur gunna have a game with a farm u should at least have all the farm animals included with it. And some stuff about the game thats not realistic, the people in the town stand outside in the pouring rain...... "realistic" people dont do that. And also in the game, ive kept my animals out side all winter, summer, spring, and fall... and they havent gotten sick, real animals would. Yes i have had a cow or 2 get sick, but they havent died. And ive seen some people complain about the music and choices in girls... well... the people who created this game didnt really make the game to anyones likeing,or the music, they did it according to what the game is like and what kind of music would be appropriate. And the girls were a great selection, some girls r desperate and easy, some girls are just plain difficult, and some are sweet. Thats a great variety of girls. I admit,it does have great graphics and i love the affects and the water and the ocean and stuff. It is a great game,i enjoy plating it myself,i just think that it could be better, more realistic and more life like..... and the funny thing is,no one has yet been successfull to make a game that is really realistic. I think they should have meters in the corners telling the person if that character is hungry, has to go potty, needs to rest,is sick or not...etc etc. That would make it great. Harvest Moon is a good game,i just think they could do better :)
| Harvest Moon: It's A Wonderful Life Review | | Nami_Is_Cheating_On_Me from Nowheres Ville You Creep says (18/Jul/2004): | Harvest Moon: It's a WONDERFUL life for gamecube is indeed a WONDERFUL game. It has superb graphics that make the game seem like it real life. May I add that the graphics also make the children more adorable ^^? I am married to Nami and have a son who is a todler named Benny. I am in chapter two, lmost in chapter three. There are many events in this game along with a lunatic scientist *^. There are so many awesome qualities about the game that I could go on forever.
Why do I say that Nami is cheating on me? Simply, because she is. She goes everyday to Gustafa's hut and I find that highly suspiscious. ^^ lol.
I must admit, the music selection is low, but if you link up your game boy advance game, friends of mineral town, I am told you can get more music seletion.
I ad another file where I married Celia. She was a tad boring since I never saw her leave the house once so I started over and married Nami.
My sister has a file and has JUST proposed to Muffy. personlly, I think Muffy SUCKS with a capital S.
The biggest tip I can offer is to buy a banana seed and plant it. Than befriend Daryll (ad scientist) and get a seed maker from him. In the summer, gather up all your bananas and put them in the seed maker. Now you will have a bundle of seeds. PLants the seeds and sell the rest to Van for 750 a seed. I made over 30000 from one tree in one season by doing this. Now I have around twenty trees and Im not going to plant my seeds, just sell them and well...you do the math.
I hope you enjoy this game, it is VERY addictive. Well atleast to me it is. ^^
| I actually DREAM about this game!!!!!!! | | LovesHarvsetMoonAWL from Forget-Me-Not Valley, Somewhere XD says (2/Jun/2006): | I can't stop playing this game! I even see myself playing it in my dreams XD. Whenever I see someone spell one of the NPC's names wrong, this is what I see in my head: You #$%< remove me > at person!!! It's spelled ROMANA not Romona!!! I seriously recommend this game for anyone. Right now I'm on a secret mission, trying to hunt down Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life and all the other ones. Mostly Friends of Mineral Town so that I can see what's up on that stupid path...Anyhow, right now I'm trying to type and play this game at the same time. Here is a little more on my review..
Good:
1. Everything is almost realistic. I can almost feel the breeze by the ocean...
2. You don't have to kill, punch, kick etc. anyone.
3. You don't have to just run around trying to beat the level, you're on an agenda!! Trying to woo a girl, taking care of your animals/farm, taking care of your child, taking care of yourself, making friends etc..
4. The peace, you can get different music for your farm. The only music I find kind of freaky is the music by the path by Vesta's Farm and the music by The Blue Bar when it's closed. O_o
5. There's a map showing where you are so you don't get lost as easily.
Bad:
1. At nighttime, it gets very dark and you can't be outside unless you want to be up all night trying to find your way back to the farm.
2. WAY too easy to woo Celia and Muffy.
3. A little too difficult to woo Nami
4. I don't have a four. I <3 the game so much it's hard to find any faults in it.
Well, that's my review. Enjoy the game!!
| Get Harvest Moon It's A Wonderful Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | Tessa from Santa Ana/California/USA says (14/Mar/2005): | Hi everyone! My name is--wait, I'm not here to explain about me, i'm here to explain about-tada! Harvest Moon AWL! Well, first off, I think it's a really great game. I give 2 thumbs up for the graphics, man, they are very realistic. I still have fun playing it as I did when I first got it! If u like games that have to do with life, u'll love this game! It's sorta like the Sims...well, anyway, I really love this game. I have 2 files, one of them I marries Celia and am on year 2 and the other, I'm still single and planning to marry Nami. Well, advice for those who plan to get this game or already have it and is still on year 1: DON'T MARRY CELIA!! Y? Cuse she's sooo boring! She just stays in the house all day long. Oh, and if u have this game, I got a few cheats for ya. Broke? k, first ya make friends with Ruby.(oh, u have to be on the 2nd year)Then u have to see her in her kitchen when she's ALONE. Then she'll give u Ruby's Spice. Go to ur kitchen, pick a recipe, and for the ingrediants, do RUBY'S SPICE ONLY!! Then u'll end up with TWO ruby spices! Sell them to Van (they're 100g each!) and before u know it, u just earned urself over a thousand by cooking! Still broke? Buy a banana seed, and put the bananas in a seed maker. (get a free one from the scientist if ur friends with him) They'll eventually turn into 2 banana seeds. Sell them to Van. Oh, did I mention? They each cost 750g! Well, i've talked enough for today. Remember...GET HARVEST MOON IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE!!! :) Trust me, u WON'T regret it.
| THIS GAME IS THE BEST | | DANIELS from MO. USA says (12/Feb/2005): | I marred muffy the one that lives at the Blue Bar. I named one of my cows dot and my bull cow is studely. If ur cow is not giving u milk, it is eigther that time of year. And if u just bought this cow, that cow has to have a baby before u can milk her. The way to get ceilia is to give her a flower of any kind a type of veggie and buy seeds from her occasionally. The way to get muffy is give her any kind of flowere every day she likes pretty ore and surprise her with the Big Hechup fish. The way to get nami is is to give her fossils, records, trick blue flowers skull heads. Ceilia's diary is in Vesta's house up the stairs and on her bed. Muffy's diary is in the Blue Bar on the table that has the funny colored lamp in the corner of the room. Nami's diary is on her desk in her room in the Inner Inn. The only way to get into her room is to follow her or to go to her room when she is there. Be sure to take ur little guy to the bathroom not ur kid but u u will hear a plop and he will go hawwwwwwwwwww, that means he feel's better. YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS IN THE SECOND YEAR WHEN UR HOUSE HAS AN ADDITION TO IT. You can open ur own shop and sell things where van was. And if u want to whistle for ur horse press the R button twice. oh ya...... if ur little control pad that is usually up in the right hand corner of ur tv screen, if it is gone, go to ur house and go to takakura's notes and go to configure and go to control and mark it "on." That is all I have to say, hope u find this helpful.
| AWESOME GAME!!!!!!!!! | | Lisa from USA, Ill says (23/Jun/2005): | This game is great! When I first got it I loved it and played it nonstop! My rating is 10, and 10 in my room means absaloutly, definetly, posativly perfect!!The graghics are great. But I have to admit I REALLY didn't take any liking to those worthless ducks, and that goat REALLY ticked me off.But it's not over yet, I put 50 cans of milk in that place across the barn in the first year that took me ALL year to get from my cow, the next day I come out and there is a cutsceen that the little hairy guy, murry!, ran off with my milk! I go into that house across the barn and there is 25 cans left! I felt like strangling that little imp!(DEEP SIGH)Put that aside and the game's great. You have to give your kid lots of attention or once he grows up he'll run away on the boat that's at the beach.Right now I'm married to Nami and on my 3rd or 4rth year while my son Eric was maybe about seven or eight.(Over a toddler) I have several chickens and five cows and a 6th baby cow on it's way.To all girl hm fans,(Like myself), Harvest moon another wonderful life and harvest moon more friends of mineral town is coming out july.26,2005.I have them both reserved. On awl there are several stages for your kid toddler, young child, teenager, and adult. He could become a farmer(???), a rancher(???),a scientest(Darl),an athlete (That guy that runs around as fast as I can walk),a uh artist (That guy who lives in a trailer),an arciolagist (Guy at dig site),and a musician(Gustafa).
| Most Adictive game EVER!! | | Chance S. from Wise,USA says (4/Jun/2005): | This game is so stup.... oops, wrong game. Harvest Moon AWL is so cool, the graphics aren't the best but still cool. I do wish you could marry more than 3 girls though. The first time i played the game i played for about 1 week straight, no lie, stopped just to eat, and sleep, then school started back but i still played it after school almost everyday. Then I took a little brake from HM, about a month, then i really got into it, playing it every day, drawing things from the game, etc. I was on my 3rd year, married to Cellia, bunches of live stock, 250,000 dollars(the tree trick worked wonders)... it was an amazing time, but then evil struck (duh duh dummm) my sister over wrote my game! I was heart broken. I went on an isolation from harvest moon. but i got back into it sometime later. As i said the graphics are awesome but peoples heads are to big and their could be more detailing in the game. The music is nice but their is not much to choose from (2 records?!) and the music doesnt change from season-to-season. And the natural sound are just... unbeliavable. I mean you can hear crickets, sand, water falls, and your footsteps' sound changes depending on what you step on (metal sand grass dirt bricks etc.). But, through every thing Harvest Moon and i have been through i still enjoy turning on the old GameCube and playing some HM. i have had inimaginable fun playing this game and i recomind it to all Harvest Moon freaks out there:)
| She's Irresponsible, but I Love Her | | Koeji from Trenton, MI, USA says (15/Jan/2005): | I recently married Nami and had a boy (whom I named Zeke). NAMI IS THE BEST GIRL TO MARRY. She is the hardest to get, but Natsume made her that way because she's the best. But one night, she was very irresponsible. Zeke was asleep and Nami went outside so I left Zeke alone (I know that was irresponsible of ME.)and went to follow her. First she went to Romana's (her favorite hangout)and then she went to: THE BAR! My wife left our boy alone at 10 o'clock, to get DRUNK!!!! So I ran back, went to sleep, and the end. This game is THE BEST. The animals and sounds are very realistic. The people also look very real with their shadows and all (my problem with Animal Crossing.). The days are really cool and short, so you don't need to turn it off, change the clock, and then go back (another problem with animal crossing.). It kind of prepares you for real life, with dating, getting food, staying healthy, getting married, and even having a child. The children can grow up and even rebel against you. They can choose their own career path. Not to scare anyone, but I read on this other site that if you don't hold your boy a lot when he's a toddler, then when he's older, he'll run away on that boat on the beach. THEY DID PUT IT THERE FOR A REASON! This is one of the best games I've ever played.
P.S. If you have any pictures of Nami's child as he grows older, please send them to me.
